I know you are `` supposed '' to wait to `` air it out '' but I could n't. I hopped on and practiced. it felt great. I just received this mat. NO ODOR at all! Yes, it was in a roll during shipping, so of course the ends turned up a bit. I TURNED IT OVER on my hardwood floors and that was the end of that problem. It does n't slip. Not on the floor. Not under my feet. No matter which side is facing down. It's thick, THICK, soft but sturdy. My body does n't feel any pain, no matter what part of it is touching the floor!

If, like me, you have a prominent coccyx( tailbone) and bruise a lot there when doing crunches, pilates, or yoga, this is the most comfortable mat I 've found. It does make for slightly less stability when doing anything that requires standing on a single foot( I just step off the mat for those) but I find the trade off more than worth it. I have had no durability issues, and it is going on 2 years old now. I do alternate the direction in which I roll it to prevent creasing, though that may be unnecessary on my part. Overall a great mat for comfort, and if I wear mine out, I plan to buy the same one again.

I had searched for a while for a pilates mat that was thicker and more supportive than the very thin mats that seem standard. After evaluating the very few that are at least a half an inch thick, this mat was my choice to diffuse the pain I always experience during any kind of floor work( I experience a lot of pressure on my lower back.) I was a little worried that, being such a large mat, it would n't roll up very small or would just look monstrous on the floor next to others' tiny yoga mats. But for as thick as it is this mat rolls up surprisingly well and can still be tucked under your arm. And it is really luxurious to do pilates on. It reduces the impact on my back and feels really nice under my bare feet when doing standing poses. I actually think it takes stress off the knees, because the thick mat helps absorb shock if you are using it for high impact exercises. It's no hard- core yoga mat, as some have said, but it stayed put pretty well when doing some cardio style, kicking moves. I also never thought it would be so worth it to have a LONG mat, but I 'm 5'10 and now I ca n't go back. When others were hanging off the edges of their non- mats, I could comfortably lay my head on one end and not worry about my long legs extending off my mat and hitting someone in the face:)

I purchased this yoga mat at my local Dick's Sporting Goods Store. I had been wanting a really good mat after attending Hot Yoga with an 'ordinary' Target- brand mat. I was slipping and sliding all over the place with my previous mat. With the Manduka PRO Mat, I was calm- cool- and stable. It was wonderful! It is a little slick at first( the protective coating has to wear off), but that will get better with time. I have become a Manduka fanatic after using this mat. FYI- it is a little heavy. I would recommend purchasing a yoga strap or yoga bag to haul this puppy around in.

This Manduka mat is really worth the price since it has enough cushioning, not so much that makes one lose balance but good for a head stand. Should have purchased last year! My son's trained in the live rooms on the carpet, and that's no good. These mats are great for the basement or garage. They are light in weight but have great support and feel like our normal wrestling gym mats. No problem to move around the house, store in the closest, or layout to wrestle. The kids are learn more now because they feel like there training verses rolling around on the floor. I will also say the Flex Connect is worth the money. Works for all my purposes. It's very thick, but not quite as wide as a yoga mat; so if you feel like you need that extra space to workout, I might consider a different mat. These are also softer to work out on and stay tightly connected throughout a workout. I don ’ t know if they are compatible with all other brands, but they seem to connect well with the set we already have. This yoga mat is so perfect! Very durable and solid materials. It lays flat when you first unroll it, not like flimsy ones that roll up on the corners. It stays in place with each yoga move. The color is beautiful. It is thick and cushioned so your knees and elbows don ’ t feel like they are digging into the floor. I would buy one in every color! The only slight negative is it is a little heavy, not bad but I was just surprised when I picked it up.

I love this Yoga Mat! It's super great for at home workouts. I work out at home 4- 5 times a week. I had another yoga mat that was squishier, but this one is better in more ways. I like that this yoga mat stays in place and does n't slip around while I 'm doing mountain climbers, or other exercises. It's not as squishy when I 'm doing pushups on my knees, but maybe I need to do regular pushups from now on! It's comfortable enough for crunches, but great for yoga as well.

It gets really dirty, unfortunately but the cushion is superior to cheaper mats and the grip was great on day one even though the package says you need to break it in a bit.
