I bought a pair of these when they first came out a couple of years ago and always saved them for my `` dress '' shorts. I always looked forward to wearing them as they are the most comfortable shorts I have ever owned. I finally decided to replace my lined Breeze shorts with the active breeze shorts because they are just so much more comfortable than the Breeze short. The extra comfort comes from the difference in the waste band. The old Breeze short had a typical stretch liner but the new active breeze short has more of smooth band where you do n't feel the waist band against the skin, you dont actually know you are wearing them.

[ So far, really impressed with Nike ACG! Their line has some very well- designed and functional pieces for all kinds of outdoorsy activities. I ordered these for my brother. Some initial impressions:- They really weren ’ t kidding about the pockets! So many of them( hidden, zipped, small, large, front, back, you name it!). I ’ m not share how secure some pockets are, but in general, very convenient.- The material is very lightweight but sturdy. There ’s a mesh inner layer underneath as well, which looks very breathable and comfy.- The shorts are super adjustable! I accidentally got a large for my brother, but we were able to make it work because of the elastic waist and drawstrings.- The shirts have some loops meant for hiking poles( so cool?!). I bet you could also add a carabiner or something.- I really liked the neutral color scheme. The top of the shorts is gray and has an interesting plaid print.- They are a little pricier than what I ’ m used to, but given the unique features, I think this might be worth it for an avid hiker or if they ’ re on sale. It ’s too chilly to wear these out now, but I ’ m sure they ’ ll be perfect for indoor use or for hikes in warmer weather!

The shorts were a bit snug when I first put them on but when playing basketball, they were very flexible. The waistband was flexible on my body and didn ’ t dig in my thighs while running. The style of the shorts provided me with ample amounts of space to place my keys and my phone. I also like the inner- lined of the shorts that provide me with support. The amount of space to store things was one of my favorite parts of these shorts, including the loops to latch things onto them. One thing I would change about these shorts would be the fitting of the shorts once I first put them on. The shorts are comfortable but for someone with thicker thighs, the internal lining could cut into the thigh. I would get a size bigger just for my thighs.

I love these ones specifically because they ’ re form fitting and flattering( they hide the mom pouch!) and they ’ re very comfortable. They ’ re size accurate and come down to a nice length for biker shorts, they ’ re not too short and seem appropriate for most situations especially during the summer since there ’s no pattern/giant logo so you could easily dress them up with a longer dressier shirt or pair with any shirt to go work out. I normally don ’ t write reviews. But these are by far some of the most comfortable and flattering running shorts I ’ ve worn in a long time! I ’ m 5 ’ 5 ” 115lbs and the XS was perfect. Waistband just right, not too tight or loose, and the rise is in- between typical mid- rise and high- rise so I don ’ t feel like I ’ m having to roll them down or pull them up to be flattering. These are the training shorts I 've always wanted. I generally hate shorts with liners because the elastic in the leg holes is irritating and annoying. I usually opt for linerless shorts and athletic boxer briefs. These are everything in one. The benefit of these shorts is that the outer shorts are attached to the inner liner. The pockets on these shorts stays put. I have another pair of Nike running shorts and the pocket liner pokes out the bottom when I put my phone in there. So annoying. The only thing I 'd change is the advertised phone pocket in the back is much too small for my iPhone Max. Otherwise these are perfect.

For more experienced runners, you begin to notice that longer lengths shorts become obtrusive and somewhat restrictive. I found myself typically running in an old pair of 5 ” PT shorts that I got issues from the Navy. I thought 5 ” was sufficient. Then I tried a pair of the 3 ” breakaways and my goodness, what a difference. These 3 ” breakaways make you feel faster, stronger, and they look stylish. The added bonus of the 3 ” length is that the shorts don ’ t feel restrictive or obtrusive particularly during long distances runs. These shorts feel, well, freeing.
