Excellent for winter to cut the wind and retain heat. Had multiple deer come within 30 yds and jacket noise did not alert them. Used as a top layer with layering( and heated vest, socks, and gloves all on lowest setting) during a 12( F) degree morning, never got cold and didn ’ t feel the wind. It does not have pockets, which helps with retaining heat and one less thing to leak down the road, but I use a small pack to carry in. I do suggest breaking it in a bit. I was looking for a lightweight jacket that was n't too bulky but would provide warmth and protection from the wind and rain. This is the perfect jacket. I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend it. I 'm 5 feet tall and 102 pounds. The Small fits great. I can wear the jacket over a couple of layers or a single layer and it works great. While I have n't worn it in warm weather yet, I 'm confident that it will work even in the summer when I want a light weight jacket.
