Definitely order a one whole size up as others reviewers have mentioned. Helped me save some time for sure. I ’ m typically 8. 5 in most shoes( vans, Nike, ON) and ordered 9. 5, great fit. Can ’ t speak to the longevity but comfortable, warm, and waterproof.

5 aestrada05
I wore these for my trip to Colorado. It was 20 degrees and snowing, but i felt super warm and secure in these boots. I ’ m pregnant and needed to make sure I had something extremely comfortable that kept my feet warm with good grip so i didn ’ t fall. For the price I paid and the comfortability, I ’ m happy with what I paid for and what i received.

5 Traveler96

I bought these boots for playing with the dogs in the snow. They are very warm and keep my feet dry when outside in the near zero temperatures for our half hour romps in the snow.

5 Dmblstnr
My daughter is a size 8 and the 8 fit her perfectly. She loves the white color, and I love the rubber encased foot to lock out rain and snow. The toggle lace is nice when she has on snow gloves and would have trouble with normal ties.

5 BeckyLynn48
I bought these boots to wear while I was participating in an outdoor event, with temps in the teens and below zero windchills, and they did absolutely amazing! My feet were warm, dry and very comfortable during my event. Kamik is a brand I now trust for future winter gear!

Awesome purchase, very warm!!! Not something l typically would buy, glad l did.

5 COHawk
These boots are great. I ’ ve worn them in the cold snow already and they worked great!

5 JP615
I bought a pair for my wife and 14 year old daughter. Both were a size small. My wife is a 7. 5 and I bought her the 8. My daughter is an 8 and I bought her the 8. Both were too snug. 9 was the right fit. Recommend buying a size bigger than you normally wear.

5 BobbiRAE
These are comfortable and can be slipped into without re- doing the laces which is a big plus for me. I bought these because they have a roll over the top winterized bottom. My last boots had the sole meeting the upper right at the bottom edge& that is where it blew out. Hoping that these last a long time like my last pair with the higher rubber section. True that they run small, I wear size 8. 5, bought boots in a size 10, fit perfectly.

5 Cin G
Very nice well padded warm boot, especially for price. They run small, probably due to interior padding. I wear a 7 1/2 and the 9 was the best fit.

Frequently Asked Questions For Best Footwear for Snowshoeing

When selecting footwear for snowshoeing, look for waterproof materials to keep your feet dry in snowy conditions. Insulation is also important to provide warmth during cold weather activities. A good grip is essential, so choose boots with a durable outsole designed for traction on slippery surfaces. Additionally, consider a comfortable fit with adequate ankle support to enhance stability while navigating through snow.

When choosing the right size for snowshoeing boots, it's important to consider both comfort and fit. Many people prefer to wear boots that are slightly larger than their regular shoe size to accommodate thicker socks and allow for foot movement. Additionally, ensure that the boots provide adequate ankle support and have a snug fit around the heel to prevent slipping. Always refer to sizing charts and try on boots with the socks you plan to wear while snowshoeing for the best fit.

When selecting footwear for snowshoeing, look for materials that provide insulation, waterproofing, and breathability. Synthetic materials and rubber are commonly used for the outer shell to keep feet dry and protected from the elements. Insulated linings, such as fleece or synthetic insulation, help retain warmth in cold conditions. Additionally, a good traction outsole made from rubber or similar materials enhances grip on snow and ice, ensuring stability while snowshoeing.

Insulated boots can be beneficial for snowshoeing in cold weather, as they help keep your feet warm and comfortable during extended outdoor activities. Many snowshoeing environments involve exposure to cold temperatures and snow, which can lead to discomfort without proper insulation. While not strictly necessary, choosing insulated footwear can enhance your overall experience by providing warmth and protection against the elements.

Waterproof footwear is designed to keep your feet completely dry in wet conditions, featuring materials and construction methods that prevent water from penetrating. In contrast, water-resistant footwear offers a degree of protection against moisture but may not be fully sealed, allowing some water to seep in during prolonged exposure to wet environments. For snowshoeing, waterproof options are generally preferred, as they provide better protection against snow and slush, ensuring comfort during extended outdoor activities. Water-resistant footwear may be suitable for lighter conditions but may not offer the same level of protection in deep snow or wet environments.

Traction is a crucial factor in snowshoeing footwear, as it helps provide stability and grip on slippery or uneven surfaces. Good traction allows for better control while navigating through snow and ice, reducing the risk of slipping. Many snowshoeing boots feature specialized outsoles designed to enhance grip, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable experience in winter conditions. Choosing footwear with effective traction can significantly improve your performance and comfort during snowshoeing adventures.

While regular winter boots can provide some warmth and protection, they may not be ideal for snowshoeing. Snowshoeing requires footwear that offers a secure fit, good traction, and compatibility with snowshoe bindings. Specialized snowshoeing footwear often features waterproof materials and insulation to keep your feet dry and warm during outdoor activities. It's best to choose boots designed specifically for snowshoeing to enhance your comfort and performance on the trails.

When selecting footwear for snowshoeing, look for styles that offer waterproof protection, insulation, and good traction. Insulated boots are ideal for keeping your feet warm in cold conditions, while waterproof materials help keep moisture out. Additionally, footwear with a rugged outsole provides the grip needed for navigating snowy and icy terrain. Many options also feature a mid or high cut for added ankle support, which can enhance stability during your snowshoeing adventures.

To ensure comfort during long snowshoeing excursions, it's important to choose footwear that provides adequate insulation, waterproofing, and support. Look for boots with a snug fit that allow for some movement without being too tight, as this can help prevent discomfort. Additionally, consider wearing moisture-wicking socks to keep your feet dry and warm, and take breaks to adjust your footwear if needed. Properly breaking in your boots before longer outings can also enhance overall comfort.

To maintain snowshoeing footwear, it is important to regularly clean them after each use to remove dirt, snow, and salt that can cause damage. Allow the boots to dry completely at room temperature, avoiding direct heat sources, which can warp materials. Inspect the footwear for any signs of wear or damage, and treat them with appropriate waterproofing sprays or conditioners to preserve their functionality. Storing them in a cool, dry place will also help extend their lifespan.
