I bought this in preparation for a trip where I was expecting temps in the low 40s, wind, and rain, but needed a few easily accessible pockets, too. This coat worked perfectly for me, keeping me dry, warm, and relatively protected from the wind( with the hood), too. The lack of an inner pocket was a bit of a miss, but the two outer breast pockets worked well for my phone and( when traveling, and worried about pickpockets) wallet.

I 'm 5' 7 '' 130 lbs and ordered a small, was n't sure how it would fit since I would normally go for a medium in jackets, but saw this was loose fit and have heard Carhartt run large. The sleeves of the small were good but I was absolutely drowning in the rest of it so got an extra small, and it was a much better fit! When I tried it on with a sweatshirt underneath, the sleeves of the extra small were a touch tight when bending my elbows, but I think it will break in just fine. Great jacket, hope this can help folks with sizing. Did n't have any trouble with the zipper the way other people have described, it's a big metal double zipper and takes a little effort but nothing crazy.

I was fortunate enough to be able to grab this when it was half price and I 'm so glad I did! The color is exactly as shown. The inside has a beautifully soft fleece layer. I also like that it has a loop near the tag inside for easier hanging. I often wear a size large in most women's clothing, but this was described as being a little bit of a loser fit and I would definitely agree with that. And I feel like it fits well while even having a little roof to spare, which is great for when I want to wear layers. I also like that it's a little bit longer in the back, so if you 're wearing leggings and would like to cover up a little bit more, this offers a little more coverage. Coverage. There are two good size pockets in the direct front on either side of the jacket and it has a zipper closure. I would definitely recommend this to others and would recommend going a size down from your normal size.

I ended up going with my normal size of XS after trying the XS and S. I 'm 5' 1 '' and 109 lbs for reference. The size small fit more oversized but the arm sleeve were slightly too long. If you 're between sizes, I would size up. My main concern was how cropped it might be and both jackets ended up hitting my waist at about the same spot so I went with the smaller size for the better arm and shoulder fit.

This puffy is best used for around 0 C to 5 C in dry weather, in sub zero temps it may not be warm enough. The fabric is soft and comfy to touch with a nice fleece lining on chin and neck area to keep that area warm and also helps if you have a beard. I 'm about 170 cm, 66 kg and a small fit too tight in the chest and armpits, medium fits well relaxed with room to layer, the sleeves are just a bit long. The hood and collar have nice coverage to keep head and neck warm. Personally, I do n't mind the yellow shoelace, it does n't get in the way much. A great feature is the double zipper which allows you to vent heat without taking the jacket off.

I live in the Western mountains of Maine beside the White Mountain National Forest. We get spooky weather here. It was a brittle- 10° when I got up at 0530. I threw my Expedition Pack Down Hoodie on over just a merino wool base layer. Something I wear 24/7 in the winter here. I was quite comfortable outside. I have gone through so many winters with barely adequate clothing. This year I finally figured out how to dress. This jacket is superb. It handled some rather high wind the other day better than I expected. I HATE feeling that cold wind blow right through a jacket! Look, I found myself just wanting to go for a walk the other day just so I could wear it! I love the length in the back. Not keeping your butt covered is asking for trouble! Love the arm length which SHOULD be a tad longer than normal to ensure no `` pull up '' around your wrists. Love way you can pull this jacket around your body. Everything is adjusted just for me! Any jacket like this really shines with proper layer material. It's no secret but, just go with wool. Period. A wool base layer( I go with the thickest I can find) is the key. I quite often wear just my wool base layer for a shirt. Job well done Fjallraven!

I 've owned a lot of jackets over the years. Helly Hansen, Eddie Bauer, Spyder, Khul, Mammut, etc. This is by far the warmest jacket I 've ever owned. Even at 30- 35 degrees( F) I sometimes find myself unzipping it as it is too much insulation. I 've worn it out to about 5 degrees with only a light sweater under it and was not even slightly cold. There are more technical jackets out there if you 're looking for backcountry skiing stuff but if you 're just looking for something to keep you warm around town, winter hiking, or sledding with your kids, you ca n't beat this. Also looks great and super comfortable.

Love this jacket. Bought the medium but unfortunately due to the mid- life spread it was too tight around the mid drift, so that one to a friend. Bought another in large, fits like a glove and both of us have gotten some good wear out of these already. An absolute perfect jacket, I would love to see Fjallraven make this a full winter jacket with extra insulation similar to the Nuuk Parka, then it would be an absolute beast of a jacket.

I have had this Jacket for now the 3rd winter and my wife has the female counterpart we love the jacket. It is exceptionally warm and as it stops the wind and and does resist moisture. I have worn this jacket in- 40 wind chills and dont feel a thing. I recommend whenever possible!

This jacket was bought gor me as a gift about a month ago and I think I 've worn it every day since, through November into December, in a wet and Stormy Wales. The medium fits my 5'11 '' frame perfectly. Warmth is n't an issue. I 've worn the jacket with only a t shirt beneath, in windy, freezing temps, with no issue at all. Lots of handy pockets and a hood that works best with a hat worn beneath. Regarding rain. I 'm not going to wear the jacket for prolonged rain. But for showers or drizzle my unwaxed jacket works just fine. For the time being I 'm not going to wax it, as I like the way the jacket looks and I do n't want to change that. So a superb jacket for cold, windy, damp days. I love it.

Wonderful coat! Am 5' 2 '' and under 115 lbs, chose XS and am very pleased. In 20- degree weather I wore a thin long sleeve cotton tshirt and lightweight synthetic sweater- and was plenty warm! The hood is ample with a cozy furry lining, there are nice pockets, the fit is generous and it can either be worn straight, fashionable these days, or cinched at the waist for a more contoured look. I bought the cream color as a change from black and it's a rich neutral shade. Overall it's an excellent jacket, recommend.
