This is a very durable, flexible, and elegant dumbbell set. You can adjust the weight by adding or subtracting weight plates, which means that one pair of dumbbells allows you to do many different exercises. Yes, it takes a minute to screw the collars on and off to change weights-- but you need to rest a minute between sets anyway. And you can screw the collars on snuggly so that the weight plates do n't rattle around like other quick- adjust dumbbell sets( and this set costs far less). Finally, the plastic case is a nice touch if you need to put the weights away when the grand kids come over for a play date.

My first impression of these weights was that they were much more solid with a much smoother mechanism for changing weights than I had anticipated. I enjoy the space convenience of these compared to having an entire set of dumbbells and am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Using them they feel very similar to standard dumbbells at a commercial gym. I would also recommend ordering through Dick's sporting goods. It's a decent weight set. The problem I have is that when I called customer service to ask if the bar was one piece, I was told it was. I wanted the one bar strength in order to increase the weight.
