I 've been catching large mouth and spotted bass with this lure all winter. The gizzard shad and the sexy shad are my go to colors. Throw it across a rocky point in about 10- 15' of water and slowly crank it across the bottom. Make sure you bounce it off the rocks and hold on. The bass crush it. I will always use the 6XD or the 5XD. Strike King makes the best crank baits i 've ever used.

Having ran Millwood Lake Guide Service for over 22 years in sw Arkansas, I can tell you dont hit the lake without a plano box full of these in various colors for varying water conditions. Because our lake can change color in a matter of hours with high wind and thunderstorms, I prefer the 3/4 oz Rat- L- Trap in 3- 4 basic patterns. I have doing well on rainbow trout with the CD- 1& CD- 5 silver( Cant seem to find the CD- 3 ever). I prefer the CountDown( sinking) over the original( floating) models. Floating models are too light to cast well. The CD- 1 really seem to work well for trout, simulate minnows the trout feed on. Nice slow retrieve. They will ignore one size totally and then hit on a different size lure minutes apart so keep a couple different sizes and try until you find the one they want. Work for Bass as well.

picked up a couple of these lures the other day, they are unbelievable. caught 4 stripers( 1 40 pounder) all on the sp minnows. I saw what baitfish were running and matched the lure to the baitfish. the stripers went crazy for it. they hit it so hard. i would defenitely reccomend it.

The bite was slow on the Reservoir. The strike king 2- tap in the chili craw pattern got my only bite of the day. A Maryland PB smallmouth. Though it was only 1 fish. I regularly fish open water and smaller creeks. The Rebel Crickhopper Lure is my legendary favorite. I primarily fish for Bluegill and other panfish. Whenever the time of day is right and the fish are around, the hits are almost 100%. I use the crickhopper with 6# fluorocarbon line and a small Zebco( 33, 22, etc.). No need on spending more with this lure.

I bought two Crickhoppers to try out with my ultralight tackle and was surprised at how many panfish I caught. Just about anything will go after them too. I 've caught plenty of largemouth on them. The natural colors work best for me on sunny days, pick one up and you wo n't regret it!

I Used the Tracdown for trout fishing, had the rainbow, and brown, I used the 5/8 size. The bigger size it seemed the trout did not want to hit it. With the 5/8 size the smallest fish we had for the day was around 16 in, We had a few in the 21 range, and even had one over 21. We used it somewhat fast moving water but it was pretty deep. we found out that if we was casting across the river current, that the lure was not giving the right action, So we would cast down river and bring it back to us, we had a fish on every few cast. One thing we found with the smaller one that we did not like was the fishing line would get around the front hook on some of the cast and we would just have to bring it back in and pull the line off. Because the lure would just spin in a circle. Would like to find a way to fix this, But i will still be buying the lure. Also the smaller lure is kinda hard to cast because it does not have much weight to get it out far. But we dropped line size and went to a ultra light rod and real and it fixed that problem. The two rivers we used this on was the White river in Arkansas and the roaring rivers in Missouri. Many people around us was asking what we was using because of the amount of fish that we was catching. We showed them, and told them were to buy them at. all in all, This was a awesome lure for trout and i cant want to go out again and see what we can get. I would recommend this for everyone to buy and try.

First time ever using this lure caught around 10 bass. It was crazy. I had the bass color and they just couldnt resist. Every 5 casts i had a fish. It goes pretty shallow and dodge underwater obstacles like sticks or tires. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great shallow lure!

Ive caught panfish of many sizes along with bass, chain pickerel, crappie, white+ yellow perch, red drum, baby striper barely longer than the bait to 20+ inchers. Its just a fish catcher!
