I ’ ve caught many bass over 4 pounds, big pickeral, big crappie, even a 10 lb catfish and it held up to it all. The one thing that got to it was a log in which I pulled back too hard and snapped it( I ’ m pretty sure I had damaged it previously to that moment) so with that being said it was my fault not the rods. I plan on buying another one that ’s how much I love this combo. I recommend it to anybody from beginner to experienced angler. I ’ ve always been a quantum guy but this rod has a big place in my heart.

I want to preface this by stating I purchased this rod in 2022, and the rod I have has different decals than the one listed, so I am unware if the quality of the rod has changed over this time. I bought this rod for inshore saltwater fishing, and it does an amazing job with jig applications. The rod has a good backbone, allowing for firm hooksets. Yet still has a sensitive enough tip to feel more subtle bites. This rod is great for black sea bass! I accidently put this rod to the test when trying to snag some bait with it, and hooking into a small shark. The rod held up well all throughout the fight and did not break. After that experience, I thought for$ 20 this thing has exceeded all my expectations. I paired my rod with a Penn Wrath 4000.

I have 3 and love them for everything texas rig, punching, top water, jerk baits, crankbaits etc. When looking at reviews here you will notice that the only reviews that are n't 5 stars are the ones where people are reviewing bad shipping or something that has nothing to do with the rod itself. Bought this rod a week or two ago and it ’s held up. Negatives- It ’s a bit heavy( which I get Bc it ’s main purpose is a catfish rod). Also don ’ t like the clear tip of it, why not make it glow in the dark for night fishing if your already going to make it clear? Positives- it ’s surprisingly got pretty good sensitivity for it being a thicker 2 piece rod. It ’s a pretty strong and it really shows no signs of weakness. I ’ ve caught a bunch of catfish and perch over the past week and the rod has done great. One of the catfish being over 15lbs, it ’s earned my trust. All in all if your looking for a nice, strong, and durable rod for under$ 50 this is a safe bet. It ’s got minor issues imo so the pros heavily outweigh the cons. 4/5 stars

Spool with 15# braid and with a 1. 5oz bell sinker you 'll be able to get to the current seam you only dreamed of casting to. These rods catch fish!!! The featured rod with the standard long butt is the rod I recommend. The UL with the Michigan style handle is flimsy/noodle and will not cast as far because of the whip.

I returned a rod to my local store and ended up picking up this combo. I picked it up for tog fishing and use it for all my bait fishing now. My girlfried used it fluke fishing and the only thing she did n't like was the right hand retrieve. I purchased a left hand retrieve rival reel for when she goes. The reel is smooth and also has the retrive rate in inches per turn on the side plate. The rod is sensitive but also has a good back bone to it. I 've got several ugly stiks and this rod is also really nice. First of all, it's a fast action rod which means the top 1/3 bends and the rest offers really strong backbone. It's specially great for offshore/boat fishing for rockfish, ling, hamachi, yellowfin, halibut, and striper. Also I love the one piece stainless steel guide rings. No need to worry about cracked ceramic. One thing would be great is having a bottom( butt) cap like Ugly Stik jigging rod. But it's not an issue at all. Anyways, it feets good and sturdy. I have 12 of these rods now. Started with 1, liked it and bought more.. and more... and more.. i kayak fish and these shrink down small so I can easily carry 5 rods in my fishing crate in my trunk and transfer it to my boat. I have big pike( 10 pounds), big bass, big pickerel and have not broken a single rod. Worse that has happened so far is one rod tip popped off one one( fixed woth a tip repair kit), on another the black plastic insert on the tip came off and had to be glued on.. every collapsable off online retailers would snap or get stuck. These are perfect for bass fishing. I run them with either 10 or 30 poind braid and then wire leaders or 12 pound mono. I keep one setup for a spinnerbait. One for chatterbait, one with a snap for whopper ploppers and other lures, one for texas rig, one for tiny child, one for tubes, jerkbait... different variations based on toothy fish water or now. I run shimano 2500hd reels on them.
