I bought this at the beginning of the trout season just so I didn ’ t have the break the bank. After about a month of using it, I can confidently say that this rod exceeded my expectations. It casts nice and far, and the reel feels solid. The rod itself hasn ’ t given me any issues and is super sensitive. I would just recommend removing the line that comes on it and replacing it with nicer mono or braided. Besides that 10/10!!

I want to preface this by stating I purchased this rod in 2022, and the rod I have has different decals than the one listed, so I am unware if the quality of the rod has changed over this time. I bought this rod for inshore saltwater fishing, and it does an amazing job with jig applications. The rod has a good backbone, allowing for firm hooksets. Yet still has a sensitive enough tip to feel more subtle bites. This rod is great for black sea bass! I accidently put this rod to the test when trying to snag some bait with it, and hooking into a small shark. The rod held up well all throughout the fight and did not break. After that experience, I thought for$ 20 this thing has exceeded all my expectations. I paired my rod with a Penn Wrath 4000.

The button to cast needs to be depressed quite deliberately and firm, something my 6 yr old had some trouble with. She loved the color and that it was a larger rod than her previous rod. Bought this rod about 2 months ago and have been pretty happy with it since then. Managed to catch quite a few fish on it including a 30 '' pike and some massive hybrid bass. It says it is a fast tip but it certainly is n't as fast as others I have used. Great for treble hook baits as well as texas rig stuff. The only bad part about the rod is that somehow, one of my guide inserts seems to have fallen out and I did n't keep my receipt!

I received my rod with one guide damaged( bent, with the insert ring ready to pop out) due to poor packaging for shipping. The rod was taped to the inside of a floppy, poorly constructed triangular box that looked like a gorilla had stepped on it. A cardboard rod tube would have been a logical shipping container choice. I managed to repair the damaged guide and noticed that the action of the rod is labeled MHF. I feel the action is a little on the lighter side though. More like a Medium Action. It's a beautiful rod and very lightweight and comfortable in the hand. For the price, you ca n't go wrong.

This rod is an incredible value for the money. If you are trying to get high end feel, but do n't have the money for pro tournament level rods. Try one of these. I have 3 and love them for everything texas rig, punching, top water, jerk baits, crankbaits etc. When looking at reviews here you will notice that the only reviews that are n't 5 stars are the ones where people are reviewing bad shipping or something that has nothing to do with the rod itself. Bottom line is if you are looking for+$ 200 quality for$ 130, buy these rods. Period.

I am very happy with the product. I am very unhappy that the very helpful and well- meaning salesman in the fishing department at Dick ’s spools the fishing line on the reel backwards. I am not a regular person who goes fishing and it took an hour and a half and my son to figure out that the spool was wound the wrong way! Thank goodness I was on vacation and had all the time in the world to finally figure it out. I thought everybody should know this. Its probably more of a Medium light rod to be honest but its my go to for finesse techniques like drop shot or tubes on the river. I will say tho i have used swim jigs with this thing and it was able to get a perfect hook set. Too light for any chatterbait tho. I 've had this for over 3 months now, bought this for myself as I wanted something moderate price, getting back into fishing after about 15 years. Used it over a dozen times already and its just a good feeling reel and rod. Reel is smooth and the rod has some sensitivity to it and a little bit of backbone, which is great. I use 10 lbs fluoro and have had no trouble with the line slipping the spool or reeling in fish. Overall, just a perfect combo to grab and get out on the water for some quality fishing time, on a modest budget.
