I have been searching for a white hat that would truly shade my face from the sun, stay on my head and that I could put my pony tail through. I wore it to play tennis and to go to the beach. I could only wear my hair down or in a very low pony with other hats( except baseball hats but they do n't fully protect me from sun damage). Best hat I ever had. Wife says it looks great. I did have to size up 1/4( from 7- 3/8 to 7- 5/8) since these hats are size specific and tend to run a tad small. Unless you have purchased Tilley previously, you should go into a store to try it on.
