This hat is great! I 've owned it for about a year now and it has still held up very well in the Florida heat! Me and the family go on a yearly trip to Orlando and the amusement parks down there can get HOT in July! This hat is a great addition for daily wear for hours on end and tens of thousands of steps later on peak south Florida humid summer days. It does a great job keeping the sun out of the eyes, is very lightweight and breathable. No concerns if it gets wet in the pop up downpours, or you can purposely wet it and it can keep you cool that way as well. I strongly suggest pairing this with sunglasses and sunscreen as well, but this is probably one of the more important things to pack. If you plan on being outdoors in the summer heat and sun for hours on end, this is the one to keep a cool head per se! 5 stars very happy with this.

It might have been nice if the strings were removable, in case you did n't want to wear them all the time, but I can just tuck them up inside the hat. This hat is cool because it has a brim for sun protection but it's not huge and floppy. Size up for a bit more brim, or down for a more compact brim. I love to wear this hat around town or when we ’ re out on sunny days. It ’s very comfortable, and the brim holds its shape well. I don ’ t use it when I ’ m out gardening or mowing the lawn because I prefer my other Sunday afternoon sun hat that I can throw in the washing machine if it get dirty. So, this is my signature hat. I am a female fishing guide and it took me a long time to find the right hat. The Vivian is THAT hat. I am hard on my hats, so I 'll say I go through one of these hats every 2- 3 years. Things I love about this hat: The floppiness protects my face and neck from the sun, it's stylish and feminine, I can tighten the stampede strap when the wind kicks up. Things I do n't love: The stampede strap is leather and wears out over time. The bead wears the strap out and Sunday Afternoon have replaced the hat for me because of this, but with my last one, I ended up repairing it myself with a much stronger material. Also, when the hat gets a little wet, it smells like a horse.
