I have not tried out the waterproof feature but I am hoping it is as solid as the shoe seems to be. I had to go to one half size larger than my usual Hoka. So be mindful of that.

Don ’ t pay attention to the troll who posted several negative reviews under different names, his job is to do that and it ’s really not truthful. These trolls are paid to rag others, because their products can ’ t compete. Besides, Columbia would surely warranty any defects. So, I have used many high end hiking boots from top makers costing twice, even three times as much. These are well crafted with good materials, are very comfortable and lightweight. I find no defects and were perfect in every way. Great traction on slippery surfaces, rocks and grades. Waterproof as good as any high quality brand. I 'm very sure no one makes a better boot for the money, even those higher priced offerings. Columbia works very hard at designing and developing fine outdoor merchandise at competitive prices…backed by years of customer satisfaction. What impressed me most was the comfort and quality.

Very good hiking boot for all- day work use. I actually have 3 pair and use them in rotation. I like the all leather; however, they do need to dry out, so I rotate them. Works for me. They are good looking and stay that way with a brief polish once in a while with a brushing in- between. I work in a hospital, on hard floors for 8 hour shifts and these( with a set of purchased insoles) are way more comfortable than any sneaker or running shoe I 've tried. I switched from the Hi- Tec Altitude 4 boot due to increasingly poor production/quality. I 'm VERY happy with the Newton Ridge- have been wearing this boot for the past 5+ years, I think.

The fact that you purchased a pair of shoes does n't give you the necessary information to write a review, you have to wear the shoes in order to get the information necessary to write a review. I work in a warehouse and walk 10- 12 miles a day, 260 days a year. I have worn the Eagle Trail boots by Georgia Boot this past year. They have been amazing. Only now are the insides starting to fail at the heels. The outsole has worn evenly and still has lots of life left. The leather has resisted being run over by pallet jacks, the toes have saved my toes numerous times. I bought them at the outlet store in Nelsonville and love them so much I will order them again full price. My feet do n't sweat, stink or get blisters. I sized them in W to allow exptra room in the toe box and will likely go up a half size this time. They fit true to size and look very good after a touchup with Helix Foot and Boot care. Come to find out my wife and mother in law sold that pair in a yard sale..:( Waited things out and they came on sale at Dick's for just under$ 285. Pulled the trigger for another pair of 8 EE's and just could not be more pleased. This time, bought the new Danner DXT Comfort Insoles( direct for Danner), and they made the best hiking boot, even better. Yeah, They are a lot of money, but they are well worth every penny. With the Mountain light IIs, 1/2 size down is the right fit for me with the EE wide fit. And, Dick's had the boots at our front door in two days!!!

Very flexible shoes. I took them to the Galapagos Islands, and they held out very well on hikes, on boats and are attractive enough to wear out to dinner. They were perfect for the consistent rain in Ecuador. Very easy and convenient to put on. I 'm very happy with them. My only wish is that they worked better with my orthotics. I fit my orthotic inserts very easily into all of my other shoes which are the same shoe size. Not in these. So, I just kept the original Merrill insert in. Totally fine, but maybe a little less comfort.

I love the boots, they are light weight and the heel has good cushion( bad lower back). The canvas area was making some non tactical noise but has since diminished with short use. I purchased my first pair of Gore- Tex lined Danner boots for Ranger school class 5- 87 and loved Danner boots ever since! Sad I could n't wear my RGR school boots in BN...

i have worn these hiking, working, in the snow and they handle absolutely everything. they never get hot, they 've almost never got wet and have n't even begun to show signs of wear and tear in over a year of use. ca n't recommend highly enough! they probably run like a fraction of a size small though so if you 're on the edge, order maybe just slightly larger
