It ’s lightweight enough to e breathable but at the same time the Omni- tech heating feature kept me warm during a hike. Love that it ’s waterproof as well( walked in rain& I was completely dry). After buying this I sold all my Rab, Montane, North Face etc jackets- this is better all round, warmer in the cold( totally wind resistant), more resistant to water, more breathable, tougher, it looks fantastic( always getting asked about it) and will probably last 20 years. It fits perfectly- though go a size down. Pockets are excellent esp the inside pocket, insulated hood works beautifully and still has room for a beanie if its really cold- only thing to note is there is no drawstring waist- presumably because of the down- but it doesnt impact anything. After buying this i bought the insulated Kiruna... hardest decision of the day is which one to put on...

I ordered both this jacket and the re- wool jacket. Both seem like nice, warm options for Wisconsin winters. I 'm 5'11 '' tall, 185 pounds. I 'm torso- tall, a bit of a rounded belly, with average shoulder width. This down jacket was ordered in size large, which is a bit too snug on me. The re- wool was purchased in size XL, which is perfect. Planning to return this down jacket and wait to see if the re- wool gets me through the winter. If I feel like I need a better water- resistant jacket, then I 'll consider buying this down coat in size XL. Again, seems like a great coat, solid quality, a nice hood, good sleeve length.

I always wear a small size in coats but definitely need a medium to be comfortable. I love omni tech and require that from a winter coat. This jacket has been very warm so far and being waterproof in Oregon is necessary. I never thought I 'd separate the coats, but less than a week after purchasing, they became the perfect separates on a warmer vacation. The hood is not insulated but stays on through the wind. I wo n't need the ski skirt option and it's not a nuisance. I will note that it might be easier to dry the jackets separate after washing, or at least pull inner sleeves out or they will not dry timely. I purchased this jacket a few weeks ago and brought it with me last week on a 3 day fly fishing trip in western NC. The temperatures at first light on the water were in the mid 30's and this jacket kept my core warm and cozy! I 'm 5 '' 10 160 pounds and the medium was a perfect fit. Plenty of room under the arms and chest area for layering, easily adjustable hood, and plenty of room in the front pockets and the interior pocket too. You also have a adjustable cord around the waist, though I did not need to adjust the fit. The fleece padding found on the interior near your neck, chin and mouth is brilliant! This is by far the warmest and most comfortable puffy I ’ ve owned. Compared to other brands, this jacket has a higher collar and slightly longer sleeves and back which really seems to help hold the heat. It feels like great quality for a packable puffy. I ’ m not sure why anyone gets cold in this jacket. I use this as my outer layer when I ski. All I need underneath is a tshirt and and an old sweatshirt and I ’ m perfect in 0°- 30°F weather. The temperature in Colorado has been hovering around 0°F the last few days, so on short excursions around, I stay plenty warm. Walking around campus this jacket is light and super comfortable. It allows me to not have to layer up much as it takes on the cold itself. I have 5 days of skiing on the jacket in weather from sunny/warm to heavy snow. The fabric breathability is perfect for sidecountry/in- bounds skiing, but a touch heavy if you 're looking for a backcountry jacket. Great windproofing while still breathing. I am 5'11, 165lbs, with broad shoulders. I bought the medium and it can be worn with a puffy underneath comfortably. Not baggy, but still free range of movement. A touch more room on the shoulders would have suited me a bit better. There are a ton of useful pockets, no shortage. Zippers are easy to access, pit zips are a bit cumbersome however. Velcro on the cuffs is easy to adjust with different gloves.
