[ I love this jacket. It's a perfect weight to layer warmth underneath, or keep yourself cool on warm rainy days. It fits beautifully. I prefer light colors for visibility in stormy conditions, so I got the white/tan one. The internal drawstring at the waist is flattering. The hood WILL NOT blow down in wind. I wish they did n't use so much velcro on the front tab covering the zipper, but I do like the low profile effect of it, so it's a wash. I am 5' 8 '', 125# and I got the small.

[ I had another Columbia Rain jacket and left if on a plane. I researched many rain jackets for what I wanted and ended up going with Columbia again. I wanted it `` longish '', rain proof of course but also warm, zippered deep pockets, and a nice hood with good fastening abilities around the face. I just got back from an Alaskan cruise and wanted it specifically for this trip and an Antarctica one I have in January. It was perfect, performed well in all areas I wanted it to. I ordered an X Large in order to enable it to allow bulky sweaters and layers and it did the job!

[ Used this for a two month long hike- Camino Frances plus Fisterra in spring of this year( 2024). Phenomenal. Good for wind and great for rain. But this coat is so light I found it also worked for sun protection. It packs into its own pocket and is very light weight. The bright orange makes it very visible which helped in hiking situations with low visability. Can not say enough about how I love this coat. Ski Instructor and Hiking Camino Leader

This jacket replaced a similar 14 year old North Face jacket that finally wore out. I have used it during two humid and rainy outdoor assignments and it has worked as promised, keeping water outside while also allowing the vented zippers on the bottom upper portion of each sleeve to vent any perspiration.

I bought this for a hiking trip and it was perfect! I was in CA and I didn ’ t want to be too hot but also wanted to protect from the rain. I wasn ’ t sweating but it ’s definitely waterproof and kept me warm from the rain. So comfortable and definitely recommend! It ’s more expensive than I usually spend but it makes me feel better knowing I ’ m supporting an ethical/ sustainable business.

I am so happy I got this coat for the torrential rains that are happening in California right now. I usually wear a medium... sized up to a large and I am glad I did. The sleeves are long enough to hide my cold hands and I 'm able to wear layers underneath for warmth. It still looks good. My L covers my butt( 5' 6 '', 34DD, short arms, 145 lbs.) Love the visor to shield my glasses. This will be comfy to wear in summer storms, too... the pit zips are handy, 2 outside large zippered pockets. The coat is not heavy but it is substantial.

Patagonia products usually seem a bit snug, but this jacket in my normal size is roomy enough for a layer or two underneath.

I bought this for a trip into the rainforest, and wore it on a boat trip that took us underneath the Iguazu falls in Brazil where we got I can ’ t even count how many gallons of water dumped on us at once, and it not only kept me dry but my phone too in the pocket. If that ’s not a testament to how great this rain jacket is I don ’ t know what is! Also it packs down so small which is super convenient and makes it easy to take on trips where ounces count. Can ’ t recommend enough!

I think Colombia is the only one that makes a fleece lined raincoat and I absolutely love it for cold rain. You CAN layer in other rain coats but when you just want a quick trip to take the dogs out in the rain in the cold weather nothing beats a warm rain coat when you don ’ t need a heavy winter coat. Keep making them!

[ I recently got the Columbia rain jacket, and I ’ m really impressed. It ’s cute, comfy, and functional. I ’ m 5' 7 '' and 175 lbs, and the large fits me perfectly with plenty of room to layer underneath. The material feels well- made and durable. I also appreciate how it builds on design elements from their other jackets that I liked, such as the cinched waist. I haven ’ t had the chance to test it in the rain yet, but so far, I ’ m very happy with my purchase!

[ I originally bought a black XXL because I 'm typically an XL and I wanted room for a sweatshirt underneath. It was waaay too big. I returned it at the store and after trying them on I got a Large in Stone. It is still comfortable with a sweatshirt underneath and the slightly fitted look creates a better silhouette. The stone is really pretty and a nice departure from typical black. It kept me warm in 37 degree weather yesterday. I spilled salsa on it and it came right off without staining since it is rain- proof material — hoping that will keep the stone color clean.

I am absolutely in LOVE with the color and warmth of this jacket! Just finished a Utah 10K wearing it, the weather started at 35 degrees with partial Sun and wind, and ended at 41 degrees. I wore this jacket with just a t shirt underneath, and stayed at the perfect temp the entire run!!! Omg I need more of these babies! I loved that I could fold up the hood, and all of the pockets. My last favorite detail is the hidden red buttons, as they are so cute and such a small but fun pop of color that can be hidden:)

The fit is amazing! I had to exchange the size and it was worth the wait. Living in Washington state the weather is starting to look amazing. The jacket is very light weight and layering is not a problem. This jacket will be used for both my races coming up Beat the Bridge and Rocking Roll half marathon!
5
AimeeE
I recently ran a half marathon where the weather while I was out on the course consisted of snow/sleet/hail/rain. Over 2 hours in these elements and I was warm and dry. Worth every penny to not freeze and be able to enjoy the race despite the horrible conditions!

I REALLY like this jacket. The material is so light for a rain jacket/wind breaker. I wouldn ’ t recommend it in heavy rain, but lighter rain yes. But it packs down so small it ’s easy to stick in your vest or just wear with the backpack straps on it so it ’s there if any wind or storms pop up.
$170.00
It ’s breathable, and with proper mid layer moister management, you can hike all day in the rain and be as dry as you would be in any other rain
5

Super light and packable. It kept me nice and dry when needed. I found it runs small if you intend to put it over layers, recommend size up over a puffer like nano puff.

Joseph V
This rain jacket is super impressive. When it comes to traveling, camping, hiking, or even exploring new cities, countries, etc. You ca n't beat the portability of this jacket. It is super thin and light making it easy to roll up and store into any type of bag weather it's a backpack, purse, or even large fanny pack. Even for being so light and thin, it easily stops water from getting through. I 've had zero issues with any type of moisture getting inside either due to prolonged periods of water exposure or leaks through any seals and stitching. I will say, because it's so thin, in colder weather, you would need a warmer layer underneath to act as insulation. That being said, you might need to get one size up than normal so it can fit over any layers you need. Also, if you are traveling through any thick brush or scraping up against rocks, you need to be careful about scraping or snagging any sharp/rough surfaces too hard to prevent any micro/macro tears in the material. Being so thin, it's not super durable, but it's not very easily torn either. Overall fantastic product and highly recommend

This is a super light, rain shedding jacket. Is it 100% water proof? No, but no rain jacket is. It ’s breathable, and with proper mid layer moister management, you can hike all day in the rain and be as dry as you would be in any other rain jacket. Pairs great with alpha direct layer underneath.

Bought this on sale from a third party. Well constructed, smooth sealed zipper function and seemingly durably material. Have a Rab raincoat which does not have the same degree of durability. Had the opportunity to wear this in a variety of rainy conditions over the last 3 weeks. Remained dry with no wet through after 70 minutes of light to moderate steady rain. The must have chest pocket kept electronics dry throughout. I am 5 ’ 8 ” 152 lbs and range between small or medium depending on cut. This coat seems to a slightly fitted cut and the small fit fine with room for a base layer and either micro puff vest or jacket with still plenty of room for movement. Large vents are bidirectional. Small criticism of all rain coats of this version would be the lack of lining/light pil on the inside front of the jacket when it is fully zipped- the fabric can get a little harsh around your chin/mouth. Light weight and readily packable. Not yet sure what the DWR retreat rate will be but mfg specs suggest using Nikwax wash/treat products. To date, a nice light weight, waterproof shell. So far, 5 stars.

Rob W.
I needed a jacket that would perform in a variety of extreme environments when going inside was not an option. This jacket filled this role perfectly and has kept me dry while exploring the north Maine Woods more recently while hiking through the cloud rain forest in Costa Rica. On a cool rainy day, you can keep warm with all the vents closed and a puffy underneath. While in warmer humid weather, just open the massive vents on the sides and keep dry while still being able to `` breath '' and stop sweat from soaking you from the inside out. It is very weight efficient, easily packed, and well cut for the active user. The chest pocket is also a favorite feature of mine to safely store a cell phone while on the move yet keeping it easily accessible.

Odysseus
The new 3L Fabric is a huge improvement over the older Foray, it's robust, has just enough stretch, and overall is impressive. I was somewhat hesitant as they moved away from Gore but seeing it in person I am 100 percent a fan and it's better in every way. The only improvement, and OR please make this happen, is the branding. Make a Blacked out version without the contrasting logos, that would put this jacket as the best among the best.

Finally... A jacket that does what it says its going to do- so happy I purchased this. Excellent rain protection I experienced over 2 hours in medium rain on walk. No wet out, no leakage- water just ran off and kept me dry the whole time. Highly recommend this jacket for sure!

I 've had this jacket for a few weeks now, and I 'm pleased with the performance. It's light and compact enough for my needs, and the stretch makes it comfortable to wear even with a pack over it, and when I 'm moving fast. I have the Black version and will use it for hiking in the Pacific Northwest, but also as an emergency shell while travelling for business.

[ Employee of mountainhardwear] Rain jackets are simple things. We expect them to be lightweight, packable, breathable and to not fail. But, when you add simple but effective features like stretch fabric and pit zips? Now you 've got my business. The Stretch Ozonic fits well leaving a little room for layering underneath. Some rain jackets are like saunas for me, so when I start to steam I love having pit zips to regulate my personal humidity. This does it for me.

Tested out the new UL Premonition during my training in Salt Lake City and my recent Makalu expedition. Two of the best features of the jacket are its weight and packability — it is incredibly light and easy to pack into my backpack, especially when carrying a lot of gear and equipment up to higher camps. The jacket shielded me from rain, snow, and high winds at higher altitudes. It ’s highly mobile and easy to wear. Particularly love the internal long zippered pocket — perfect for storing important devices like iPhone or Garmin inReach.

I bought this in the early summer bc I was in desperate need of a new rain jacket( my old one was literally crumbling apart!). This past weekend I assisted in the rescue 7 people who were capsized in a pontoon boat. I dove into the water with phone and all in the pocket of this jacket. After the scary event ended I took my phone out of my pocket and was shocked to still see the phone screen activated! The phone still needed about 7 hours to completely dry out and let me charge it but it ’s completely fine now. Obviously this jacket isn ’ t meant to be submerged but the saving the phone of it all felt worth mentioning. This jacket is also WARM and I don ’ t feel like raindrops are still making me cold through the jacket. It ’s also a superb wind breaker. I wore it on a 5k ft hike and the wind at the top was bearable in this jacket. It ’s expensive but it WORKS.

[[ Employee of marmot] Bought this jacket for a summer trip full of hiking and urban exploring across Norway. This jacket held up and kept me dry through everything that we encountered-- misty, windy, foggy, rainy-- and it fit great layered over a fleece on the colder days. When the pace picked up or we were going uphill, the pit- zips were great additions to help keep me comfortable and prevent overheating. It also packs down super small so it was easy to bring along on every excursion in a daypack just in case it started to rain.

This jacket is my go to for fast and light approaches, summit pushes, rainy day runs, the ski resort or around town because of it's clean look. It seriously can handle any weather conditions and is super light so you hardly notice it in your pack or on your back. I love the backpack compatible zippers, but wish there was an extra internal chest pocket. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

SETH B A
I used this coat as a great shell layer while climbing the Grand Teton and I would n't wish for anything else! It was perfect!
5
This shell has proven a perfect addition to time in the elements where protection is critical and weight is a factor. I have used this on a several volcano ski missions this past summer and spring. It packs light and provides the summit protection needed when wind is ripping and body temps are dropping. Marmot allotted a good amount of pockets without going overboard and the pit zips provide ventilation that allows you to tune your protection on the move without having to stop to layer up or down. When it comes to rain protection, it's hard to beat Gore. It also vents well for active pursuits.

[ Great light jacket. I love the colour. I ordered M thinking I would need more space to layer up but ended up being way too big. Returned it and ordered the S. have n't fully tested it yet in cold winters, ca n't wait to do so. It would have been nice to have a zippered pocket inside. The hood is a bit small if you want to use it for ski, but it is not a 'ski' jacket.

Marmot rain jacket
[ I had been looking for a lightweight wind/rain proof jacket for sometime for mountain biking. This jacket is just what I needed to tame my early spring rides. The jacket is roomy but not boxy, it has hook/loop closure for the cuffs, armpit vents and sealed front zipper. The neck has a nice soft material as well for when the zipper needs to go all the way up!! The jacket also has a hood, but unfortunately it is not large enough to go over my helmet. Side pockets are angled so that things won ’ t fall out if you inadvertently forget to zip them. The jacket breathes enough to allow layering and only a minimal amount of moisture remained on the inside of the jacket.

[ I 'll admit I do n't know too much about this type of shell jacket. I usually wear a heavy commercial fishing style pvc jacket when I 'm working and a frogg toggs jacket when I 'm backpacking. I also have an old North Face shell that I found in a snow drift, nobody asks me for change when I 'm wearing it. So needless to say I 'm really impressed with this shell. I ca n't believe how lightweight and packable it is. The pit zips are generous and the material itself seems very breathable. My favorite part is the cut. I have a long torso and this thing sure does keep rain out of the plumbers crack. The sleeves are long enough that you can gasket your gloves. The torso has an athletic cut, I feel less like a sail flapping in the wind compared to when I wear my other gear. The pockets look weird, sitting high up on your ribs like cat nipples, but I think they make a lot of sense. They work really well with a pack belt, staying accessible and providing less material to chafe. It's a thoughtful design for the outdoorsperson, dissing these pockets is admitting to being an athleisure poser, too delicate for a heavy pack and too self- conscious for sensible cat nipple style gear storage.

[ Amazingly well constructed and impervious to rain, snow and wind. Light enough to run in without winding up soaked in sweat afterward but, keeps out the elements at the crag all day long. High pockets allow for a spot to warm hands or reach your phone with a climbing harness on and hood is big enough to get over a helmet. Can not say enough about this jacket. Stop looking and buy one!

[ First off, it ’s really lightweight and doesn ’ t restrict my movement. Love the huge pockets that extend above the backpack ’s hip belt- a nice place to protect my phone and other electronics in the downpour while still easily accessible. Got into a really heavy rain while on top of a mountain, barely had time to put the jacket on, everything was soaking wet in less than a minute. The part under the jacket remained completely dry. The shell also has nice big pit zips for ventilation, which are easy to open/close with one hand. Not all jackets can boast this feature

[ Nice jacket. Good fit and venting. I have several Marmot items in my gear closet. Unlike Marmots in the wilderness( never trust a Marmot) Marmot brand gear you can trust and count on!

A reliable lightweight option to keep rain off me on the occasional backpacking downpour is all I need. ... The weightless feel and bombproof protection it provides makes it a companion on not only backpacking trips, but day hikes, after dinner...

[ It is exactly what my husband wanted and he can comfortably layer it over the sweater. It is true to size and is perfect to pack in a bag as a windbreaker or rain jacket for the unexpected weather that you did not plan. He plans to keep it in his car.

[ I ’ ve only used it a handful of times thus far. Easy to ventilate for the muggy/rainy days. Maybe go one size up if you like to carry a daypack on your quests.

[ Great compact and lightweight jacket. Kept me dry for 10 rainy miles at the end of a 6- day trip that was mostly hot and sunny.

Bought this for cycling in the light rain. Nice fit and weight. I 'm 6' 3 '' and 200 lbs. and a large is a nice slim fit. Packs down small and is easy to stow. Not 100% waterproof, but kept me mostly dry on a 3 hour downpour bike ride. If you 're on the husky side, you might size up to an XL.
