The boots look great and based on walking the dog in the rain they are definitely water proof. The shoes are true to size, You may want to get a 1/2 size bigger if you always wear thick socks. These are the most comfortable boots I have ever purchased. Not only are they comfortable but they are durable as well. I bought them specially for use in the Everglades' diverse terrain. Wet, rocky, sandy, muddy, thickets, they conquered it all, with ease. My only wish is that I would have purchased a darker pair. [ Bought a month ago and have 150 miles of dirt with( and on) them. Really love the way they cup my heel. Remarkably good fit. I wear size 14 US athletic shoes and got a 49 size( about 13. 5 US) in these shoes and am very happy with the length. They stay tight and do n't stretch over the ride like my old ones did. Much easier to hike- a- bike without the steal toe cleats like my old shoes too. Maybe less than stellar: Feels kind of bulky in the forefoot sole if you 're standing on rocks, but it's tolerable. I do n't notice it when riding though. Not sure how long the BOA system will last. It seems like I 'm going to pull it apart when I disengage it, but time will tell. I would recommend these. In fact, I 'm going to get my girlfriend a pair.

Being a Transplant from coast of North Carolina to Massachusetts in the early sixties. I learned very quickly that the Sorel Caribou boot was the Best way to keep feet dry and relatively warm in the Great white Tundra of the North East states. Although the prices continue to increase for them. I have had I pair in 65 years that did n't give at least ten plus years. That pair was damaged by my me by resting a razor tipped arrow head on rubber portion of the boot. It did n't even cut all the way through. I ca n't say enough good things about theses boots. I 've had these for a year now and they 've been my favorite pair of work shoes so far. Comfortable for the most part. My only gripe is that my little toe on my big ol wide foot hangs just behind the steel toe section. If I kick anything with the toe of the shoe, the steel cap jams into the tip of my little toe. Love Ariat boots' style& quality! I had owned for many years paddock, zip front boots for years that I wore in stables with cement floors& wore for riding English saddle w/ half- chaps. So when I wanted a nice pair of casual waterproof winter walking boots in the Chelsea style, I was thrilled to see that Ariat made them! Note: I first purchased reg width( wide, my width, was n't avail at the time) in size 8- 1/2 the boot itself fit perfect but the tops were too narrow above the ankle& rubbed my leg. I exchanged for wide width( avail after Christmas!) size 9( as 8- 1/2 were n't avail), I so wanted these boots. The top part above ankle does n't rub( yay) but the boot is way big for my foot. I bought super thick wool socks and manage but still too big on my feet, they slide as I walk. An 8- 1/2, wide- width would 've been perfect for me but I do n't believe they return 2x's. I wear them but can not walk fast in them and I 'm a NYer, oxymoronic. Highly recommend Ariat's Wexford Chelsea waterproof boots regardless! Super boots.
