A little above the waist, perfect length for the sleeves. Inside has a hidden zip up pocket, the lining inside is perfectly warm and the same material is include in the pockets to keep your hands warm. It has enough room for you to pair it with a hooded sweater for when it rains. An xl was too baggy.

This jacket folds up small enough to fit in my back pocket. Whether it's in my jeans pocket for casual use or being used when trail running, I take this with me way more often than I would a bulkier coat. This is NOT an overly warm jacket, but if you just need to minimize wind chill or keep the rain off, this jacket is perfect. I ca n't believe how light weight it is. I 'd like to get one in a more neutral color for daily/casual use.

If you are not familiar with Columbias's sizing, always buy a size smaller than what you are on top. It's like they are clothing for lumberjacks and samoan football players. Besides that, wore it in the backyard forest walking through the swamp the other night and it breathes very well, does not stick to the skin when raining and has become my go to fall weather jacket. I do n't know what dark wizard lord Cotopaxi made a deal with to find this space material, but it is the softest thing I 've ever had on my body, and I 've had literal baby faces on my body before. It's so comfortable I want to wear it even when it's crazy hot outside, and unsurprisingly it's cool and cozy even then. This jacket is great, it reminds me of the older version of this called the Paray but this one is a little more stretchy, the sleeves were a little baggy and longer than normal so I went down to a medium. The snap button is awesome for arm mobility for tennis and venting.

This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.

I purchased this jacket after see that rain was predicted for all 15 days of our trip to Europe. I 'm glad I did. The jacket was easy to pack tight and did n't show any creases. I was able to wear a sweater under it on the cold days and never felt like I had on too many layers. The rain did fall, but the hacket kept me dry the whole trip. It adds just enough warmth over a base layer to reduce the bite of morning chill. The fabric is crazy stretchy and soft, and while I have n't been rough on this one, my insulated Kor Strata is a ski layer I have hammered all season with no issue. This thing is crazy packable too so it makes it easy to shove into a pocket or my lumbar pack.

Pull it out of your kit at a windy summit or the top of a pitch. If you are slim and athletic, it fits true to your usual size. I have a paunchy `` dad bod '', so I had to go up one size for midriff room. You wo n't have to, though.
