The Champion Duofold Men's Varitherm Expedition long johns are the best! A little pricey compared to some others, but you get what you pay for. I love the thickness, double layered. They keep my family warm during Winter sports. These `` Expedition '' pants are enough to wear under your snow pants... no need for another layer of sweatpants, etc. This brand, style is the ONLY one I have purchased since I became aware of them... [ I was really surprised how warm these kept my legs! Wear these over jeans or thermals and have n't been cold at all, and it was- 10 today. Pros: Fit, style and detail is superb! Warm and protective Cons: The fleece lining can get hung up on whatever they 're going over, mainly when taking them off. A minor inconvenience They are very expensive Absolutely worth it for me, I have used them almost everyday this winter and stayed warm without sacrificing any movement, or hearing a constant swishing noise!

These are great pants! Just the right amount of lining for me in Chicago winter when it's cold out- keep in mind I generally run warm, but this helps me avoid wearing leggings/long underwear on the real cool days. Zippers are well designed and I like the phone pocket on the right leg. Sizing, for me, seems about right. No complaints whatsoever!

Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. Zippers are fail points for waters so we elected to minimize the water ingress points. Tl; dr kept us dry. Breathed well for intense, medium duration active wear

[ One of the standout features of these pants is the combination of durable GORE- TEX 3L and lightweight GORE- TEX Active materials. This blend not only ensures exceptional durability but also keeps the pants light, allowing for efficient movement in the mountains. The lightweight construction is particularly advantageous during hikes, as it minimizes fatigue and allows for unrestricted mobility. The complete waterproofing of these pants is another feature that I greatly appreciate. Regardless of the weather conditions, I can confidently rely on the GORE- TEX technology to keep me dry and comfortable. Whether it's a light drizzle or a heavy downpour, these pants provide reliable protection against moisture. It's worth noting that if you plan to wear them over clothing, it's recommended to order a size up for a proper fit. In terms of fit, the elastic waist belt and ankle zippers allow for easy customization. I can adjust the pants to my preferred fit, ensuring optimal comfort throughout my outdoor activities. The zippered pockets are also a convenient addition, providing ample space to stash small gear such as keys, a map, or a phone. Furthermore, the packability of these pants is worth highlighting. They are extremely lightweight and can be easily compressed, making them a fantastic choice for backpacking or traveling. The ability to pack them down into a small size without sacrificing performance is a huge plus. In summary, the Men's GORE- TEX® Mitre Peak Pant is a versatile and reliable choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Their complete waterproofing, lightweight construction, and packability make them perfect for hiking and other outdoor activities. Whether you 're braving wet conditions or looking for comfortable and functional pants, these are an excellent option. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking durable, lightweight, and versatile pants for their adventures.

I 've had several pairs of rain pants from other manufacturers over the years and these are the best so far. They do n't restrict my leg movements, do n't leak, and are easy to get on and off. The rise is high, so you have good overlap with your top and the waist drawstring seems sturdy enough, although I pair them with suspenders also. Rain and wet brush are expected if you are outside much of the year here in the PNW, so you need some good rain pants.

My issue is n't with the pants which are great, BUT with the sizing chart- I am 6' 3 '' and 36 '' waist and a large size works for me but I have an 34 '' inseam and the chart recommendation is to get a tall size however I think regular would have been much better. The pant legs bunch up at the bottom when I have mid waterproof hiking shoes on. The OR pro deal is great but unfortunately they do n't allow exchanges or returns. I would liked to have swapped this pair for a large regular.

Absolutely superb! I detest ordinary hiking trousers- they ’ re always so baggy, with huge amounts of material that flaps around in the wind and discourages quick progress, and they look awful too- really unflattering, and they make men look like elderly grandads. HOWEVER, these Abisko Pro Tights are just amazing! They fit great, they look good, they ’ re hard wearing, they wash well, they ’ re comfortable … and they don ’ t flap around in the wind. The sizing is spot on … if you ’ re honest about your size. I ’ m a 28 ” waist, and the size XS fit perfectly. Note- the two pockets, one on each leg, are different. The right hand side one( with a flap) will accommodate all sorts- it ’s a good size, but note it is too deep/ positioned such that if you put a mobile phone in it, it doesn ’ t “ feel right ”. But that ’s because it ’s the left hand side pocket that is designed to carry your phone- and in that pocket, the phone feels very comfortable and secure, but easy to access. The reinforcing on the knees and bum seems to work well, and looks good too. They ’ re a really quality piece of kit- pricey, but I ’ d say worth it, to be honest.

Happy Hiker
My new favorite trekking trousers. I have worn leggings for winter running for some time, but only in the last 12 months I have started wearing leggings for hill running and hiking. The Abisko Trekking Pro Tights are very comfortable and warm and have a compressive feel on the calves. They have handy pockets on the sides. I have been caught in moderate rain and have found that the tights have a reasonable degree of water resistance, and even when wet they feel good, and you don ’ t have that horrible feeling you get when trousers stick to the back of your knees. When the conditions change the tights dry quickly. The material has a different feel to running leggings, but that is probably due to the fact they are more adapted to rugged conditions and adverse weather. They have toughened patches over the knees and the rear which will hopefully keep them durable for some time. I am glad I purchased them.

While tights as a baselayer is nothing new for me, I 've recently become a convert to tights as outerwear. Women have been doing it for years, and with more and more options and styles on the market, men are starting to catch on to the benefits. Long have I hated baggy hiking pants. They become floppy when wet, and even the more fitted pants can be constricting for aerobic sports like trail running. I purchased these tights with the intended purpose of wet wading while fishing, and to that end I think they work great, though i started finding many more appilcations for their functional benefits. I wanted to put them through the paces and test the range of activities. So I took them on a half marathon training run around my neighborhood in misty mid 50s weather. Here is what I discovered:- there is a liner in the front crotch, suggesting that these are meant to be worn sans sous vêtement. While the somewhat abrasive stitching tactically avoids sensitive areas, they still run the length of the garment, giving me pause. Turned out not to be an issue, even for the seam running up the backside.( If anything, the liner helps smooth any unwanted embelishments if you still choose to wear something underneath.)- The tag actually irritated me more than the stitching, though after about an hour of running I no longer felt it. Still, i wish i thought to cut it off before i left the house.- i am used to wearing trousers and shorts on my hips. These tights are meant to be worn high on the waist. It almost reached my belly button. This ca n't be avoided, you must pull them all the way up or the stitching in the crotch WILL rub your inner thigh.- the reinforced areas kept my legs warm and feeling fresh even as the wind picked up. I was worried they would feel uncomfortable for long distances but i quickly got used to it. Would definitely come in handy for hiking, wading, scrambling, sitting, or any other activities where you make contact with your environement.- the drawstring was next to useless. Fortunately the tights are tight enough to hold themselves up for the most part, but once the string wears out I may try to replace it with a thin running shoelace. Bottom line, these are on my packing shortlist for all outdoor endeavors. Quick drying, warm, breathable, non constricting, and durable. Works well as a base layer or on their own. They look great, feel great and give me the confidence to be as bold as they look. If someone sees a man in tights on the trails, they will say to themselves, whoa, this guy means business, and give you plenty of space. I would like to conclude that as great as they are, they are still tights. I probably wo n't go grocery shopping or to my son's soccer game in these. Recommend sticking to places where they are functionally appropriate.

One of the best mountaineering pants you can get- durable, breathable, and yet still warm at any altitude. These are my go- to pants for many PNW mountain treks( Mt Adams, Middle Sister, Mt. Hood, etc). The fit is fairly true- to- size, but I would have expected a bit more stretch in the waist. I 'm usually a 32 in most clothing, and M's feel a bit tight. There's plenty of stretch in the legs which makes for easily climbing, but the waist can definitely be a bit annoying. It's not enough to take away from how great these are, but something to consider if you 're on the border of sizes.

I had high expectations after hearing so much about this brand and reading countless reviews, but let me tell you—it exceeded them all. This is the most expensive pair of trousers I ’ ve ever purchased, but they ’ re worth every single penny. The only downside? I don ’ t think I ’ ll ever want to wear any other trousers again! They have a unique balance of rigidity and stretch, making them great for outdoor activities while still being stylish and comfortable for everyday wear—especially if you choose a versatile color. Regarding sizing, they ’ re said to be true to size, but in my experience, the waist runs slightly tight. If you ’ re buying from this brand for the first time, I ’ d recommend going one size up. This allows room for layering in harsh winters, while in summer, you can simply adjust with a belt. Overall, an incredible purchase!

I do not quite understand the concern of the other reviewer. Don ’ t be put off. Because I also have a 30 ” inseam, however find these rain pants to be no issue whatsoever as they feature a draw cord adjustment at the bottom. Therefore they can be cinched tightly around the ankle, making them a perfect fit. In terms of performance, they are excellent. I got a size XS and have a 29 ” waist, and thanks to the adjustment options, they can be worn either over the top of my thick vidda pros, or a smaller base layer. They breathe really well, and keep the rain out, and you nice and warm. These will last a lifetime. If you only want one pair of rain pants, these are hard to beat.

[ Bought the Eco Shell to use over the standard Keb trousers in wet and/or snowy conditions. Plenty of room over the trousers for layering purposes. Nice high waist and tapered leg for full coverage in lousy weather. Normally wear a Keb/Vidda Pro in size S and the Evo Shell are perfect with the same sizing. Quiet fabric compared to Goretex Pro trousers I have from another manufacturer but equally as tough and weather resistant.

[ Fit: I 'm 6' 2 '', 165lbs. I usually wear a 32 '' x34 '' pant. I bought a size Medium in the Keb Eco Shell Trouser, and they fit like a 34 '' x34 '' pant. The velcro adjustment at the waist, and the included belt, allow for a comfortable fit( FYI: there are two sets of belt loops:( 1) narrow loops for the supplied belt; and( 2) loops that overlay the first set and accommodate a standard width belt). Performance: I 've worn these on several day hikes in varying winter conditions throughout the Cascades in temps from the 20s to the low 50s. They 're comfortable, very breathable, have excellent mobility when negotiating steep terrain, and kept me warm and completely dry during soaking rains, downpours, and snow. The drawstring at the end of the legs secure the pant over my boots and kept out water, snow and mud so well that I have n't donned my leg gaiters since buying these shell pants. They 've held up well to underbrush, but the shell fabric showed abrasion and slight tearing around the knee when I took a spill on scree. While the Cordura inner legs are burly, I would be hesitant to use these shell pants for any activity other than hiking, backpacking, or for crampon use during snow/ice walking.

I ’ ve been wearing these pants for both work and play for the last 3 years. Phenomenal in almost every way. Hard wearing, durable, and stylish. I do wish they were a bit thicker( like this version from years ago), but they are thick enough for construction work. They happen to be just right for backpacking in the Winds of Wyoming- warm days, cold nights. As to the comments from others about being too tight, order a larger size… Pockets are adequate for what I put in them but they are not giant cargo pockets. One of the best features is the strategic stretch material. Pants are never binding and always comfortable. Thank you for making an amazing product!

No offense, but size up. I ’ m specifically speaking to my thiqq boys that make noise in the gym. We love leg day, we do it because it allows us to hike for longer. We do it for the glutes. Trust me when I say it ’s not you it ’s them. Size up and thank me later. Aside from the sizing I love these and I personally think they are a great investment if you want to take your hiking attire to the next level. Ventilation isn ’ t the cure for everything and everyone sweats differently. The ventilation here definitely cured my souther sweat factory. I used these on a hike and my back was getting sweaty so on way back I ventilated and holy cow what a difference. You sacrifice a pocket and some thigh space by having the zipper to ventilate but this thiqq boy doesn ’ t like to chafe and am I happy I found these. I still give these a 5 star regardless of the size up. I do not like to have a sweaty bottom or back and this did exactly what I needed. Take the time and invest in gear that will last longer, haste makes chafe.

Initial observations. These pants are true to size. They fit great with a belt. I was worried about the boot hook and vent zipper. The boot hook is tucked away so that it is protected from accidently catching. The zipper pulls on the vents tucks away when open or closed.

I have these in black, khaki, green, gray and navy. They are my favorite pants. I love how they fit, breathe and look tremendous. I ’ ve started pulling them out of the drawer before my Lululemon pants.

I purchased these on a whim and have thrown out my other pants similar to these. The cut is nice and has a slight taper in the leg giving it a modern look. The material stretches and I have not noticed any wear after several washes. I am usually tough on clothing and these show no sign of abuse. I bought another pair in a different color I liked them so much.

Best pants I have ever owned. I had a pair of the regular Ferrosi pants, they were comfortable, but way too wide and baggy for my liking. These ones are a great cut and have an excellent feel to them. Super stretchy, super light, super comfortable. OR, please never change these. I will be buying more and more pairs!

The transit pants are a step- up in fashion compared to the standard Ferrosi pants. Granted I 'm not a fashion master as my wife reminds me but these are versatile enough to wear climbing or to work. They do n't have the zipper thigh pocket but as I mentioned this gives them a slightly more formal look and fit. Obviously it goes without saying that they are comfortable, stretchy and lightweight like the entire Ferrosi line. Sometimes the Ferrosi line is known to pill but I have n't noticed any yet after a couple of months wear.
