My husband had a pair of these that lasted him more than 15 years! He loved them so much I got him another pair for the Holiday and he's as in love as he was with the original pair! They are super breathable and he wears them hiking and ice climbing mainly. He's 5'9 '' and they are a great height for him and stand nice and tall on his shins. They are waterproof and are fantastic at keeping his legs warmer on a cold/blustery day. When this pair bites the dust 15+ years from now, we 'll be getting him another of this exact pair!

I bought this for my husband Christmas 2017. The product is awesome. The only problem I had was with black diamond is when I ordered it. The box was taped with black diamond tape and my husband knew what his gift was. Maybe around the holidays use blank shipping tape.

Was initially hesitant about the way they velcroed but have had zero issues, look forward to using them for summer trail runs and long hikes as well! ... Durable construction, comfortable fit, great

These ones definitly keeps the snow and sand out. Obviously, do n't expect miracles. if you run with them in knee deep snow, the snow will eventually get in your shoes but for those days when there is 15 to 20cm fresh snow, they really do the job! So far the cord keeping the gaiter in place is also durable, showing no traces of detereoration. I 'm using the M/L with Shoe size 44 1. 2( Inov- 8 Trailroc270)

Great for keeping snow and mud out of the top of runners. They fit nice and tight. The Velcro does snag the fabric though, so care is needed when putting them away.

I 've tried all the rest, these are the best! I must walk funny or whatever, but I seem to kick up rocks, dirt, sand and everything else into my shoes. They fit perfectly, breath amazingly, and are durable like steel, simply put, they will exceed your expectations! I use them in the winter in snow, in the summer in sand and everything in between. I primarily use them for hiking, backpacking and alpine climbing. Worth every penny you 'll spend, even at retail.

Fit well onto my boots and over my calfs. ... A little noisy and stiff, but they did the job. ... Not sure how wwaterproof they might be as there was n't a visible coating on the back but again, these were super economical so for the price, they worked well in deep snow mother nature flung at

Not bad. A little noisy and stiff, but they did the job. I have another pair of mountain hardware waiters that are gore tex which I like better, but these served the purpose. Not sure how wwaterproof they might be as there was n't a visible coating on the back but again, these were super economical so for the price, they worked well in deep snow mother nature flung at us.

I 've really liked these gaiters for when It is really going to be damp. They attach well at the boot, are high enough to catch most of the dew I see on early morning hikes through long grass and the goretex coating is a clinch feature.

Crocodile Gaiters are the best Gaiter buy on the Market ... I have been using a pair of Crocodile GTX Gaiters since early 1990s and they are still functional, although the velcro closure is a bit distorted, they still close up

[ I bought these this month for my husband and me. We took them out hiking yesterday and it was 25 degrees and cold. It was snowing. They really protected our legs from the wind and cold, as well as kept the snow completely out of our boots. I thought that I would n't wear them until the snow was deeper, but I found the material was a great insulator, and I not only stayed warm, but the waterproof material helped keep our boots dry, as we crossed a lot of streams. I found them easy to put on, and appreciated looking online at the help with the right placement. I initially thought it 'd be awkward to walk on the strap, but I never felt it.

I live in Alaska, and I bought these for shoveling my drive way and wearing around town. They are fantastic. Quality and durability are obvious. I will not need another pair for the foreseeable future. I was unsure on size and bought a large. Probably could have gotten away with a medium, but they cinch down well around my calf, and I have the ability to wear extra layers underneath now. Having said that, I do have skinny legs.

I use these on the muddy slopes of Utah and for snowshoeing. They handle great stay up on the leg and I forget that they 're there most of the time. The old school tongue and rod bottom mechanism leaves a little to be desired but other than that highly recommend
Gaiters are designed to protect your lower legs and footwear from various outdoor elements while walking. They help keep dirt, mud, snow, and debris out of your shoes, enhancing comfort during hikes or walks in challenging terrains. Additionally, gaiters can provide some insulation and moisture resistance, making them useful in wet or cold conditions. Overall, they are a practical accessory for outdoor enthusiasts looking to improve their walking experience.
When choosing gaiters for walking activities, consider the terrain and weather conditions you will encounter. Look for gaiters made from durable, water-resistant materials to protect against moisture and debris. The fit is also important; ensure they are snug around your legs and compatible with your footwear. Additionally, consider features like breathability and ease of adjustment to enhance comfort during your walks.
Walking gaiters are typically made from durable, water-resistant materials such as nylon or polyester, which help protect against moisture and debris. Many gaiters also feature breathable fabrics to enhance comfort during extended wear. Additionally, some models may include insulation or fleece lining for added warmth in colder conditions. Reinforced areas, such as the lower sections, are often constructed with tougher materials to withstand wear and tear from rough terrain.
Yes, there are different styles of gaiters designed to accommodate various weather conditions. Some gaiters are made from lightweight, breathable materials that are ideal for warmer, drier environments, while others feature waterproof or insulated fabrics to protect against rain, snow, and cold temperatures. Additionally, gaiters can vary in height and fit, providing options for different activities such as hiking, skiing, or snowshoeing. Choosing the right style can enhance comfort and protection based on the specific weather and terrain you encounter.
Gaiters enhance comfort during long walks by providing protection against debris, moisture, and mud, which can be distracting and uncomfortable. They help keep your legs dry and clean, allowing you to focus on your stride and surroundings. Additionally, gaiters can offer an extra layer of warmth in cooler conditions, contributing to overall comfort during extended outdoor activities. Their adjustable features also ensure a secure fit, preventing any shifting or chafing while you walk.
When selecting gaiters for walking, consider features such as material durability and water resistance to protect against moisture and debris. Look for adjustable straps or closures that ensure a secure fit around your footwear and legs, preventing any movement during your activities. Breathability is also important, as it helps maintain comfort during extended wear. Additionally, consider the height of the gaiters, as taller options provide more coverage and protection from elements like mud and snow.
Yes, gaiters can be used for a variety of outdoor activities beyond walking. They are commonly utilized in hiking, backpacking, and snow sports to provide protection against debris, mud, and moisture. Additionally, gaiters can help keep your legs warm in cold conditions and prevent snow from entering your footwear. Their versatility makes them a practical choice for many outdoor enthusiasts.
To determine the right size of gaiters, first measure the circumference of your calf at its widest point, as well as the height from your ankle to just below your knee. Most gaiters come with sizing charts that correlate these measurements to specific sizes. Additionally, consider the type of footwear you will be wearing, as some gaiters are designed to fit over specific types of boots or shoes. It's important to ensure a snug fit to prevent debris from entering while still allowing for comfortable movement.
Lightweight gaiters are designed for versatility and breathability, making them ideal for casual walking or hiking in mild conditions. They typically use thinner materials that provide protection against dirt, debris, and light moisture without adding significant bulk. Heavy-duty gaiters, on the other hand, are constructed from more robust materials to withstand harsher environments, offering enhanced durability and water resistance. These are better suited for rugged terrain or extreme weather, providing greater coverage and protection for your legs.
Many gaiters are designed to be waterproof or water-resistant, which helps keep your legs and feet dry in wet conditions. This feature enhances their performance by preventing moisture from entering your footwear and clothing, allowing for greater comfort during outdoor activities. Waterproof gaiters are particularly useful in muddy, snowy, or rainy environments, as they provide an additional layer of protection against the elements. However, the level of waterproofing can vary, so it's important to consider the specific conditions you will encounter when choosing gaiters.
