Loved the previous versions of the Speedgoat, but the 6 felt “ off ” to me, and had durability issues so I switched over to a different brand. Luckily the Speedgoat 7 fixes many of my previous complaints and is a light, cushioned trail shoe that still provides a good ground feel. I have long, square shaped feet and the toe box felt slightly narrow; sizing up made the whole shoe too big, so I stuck with my traditional size and did a heel lock lace tie which helped keep the foot in place!

[ I ’ ve put about 50 miles on my Brooks Ghost Trail shoes so far, and they ’ ve quickly become my go- to for just about any run. What stands out most is how easily they transition between surfaces — I can start on the road, hit a few miles of dirt or gravel, and head back to pavement without ever feeling like I ’ m in the wrong shoe. They ’ re comfortable, stable, and handle everything really smoothly. The cushioning feels exactly like what you ’ d expect from the Ghost line — soft and balanced with that nice, smooth ride. On longer runs, they stay comfortable and keep my legs feeling good even after a mix of terrain. Traction has been great on gravel, packed dirt, and light trails. They ’ re not meant for super technical or muddy trails, but for everyday trail running or mixed routes, they grip well and feel stable. After 50 miles, the outsole still looks solid and the upper hasn ’ t shown any signs of wear, so durability seems good so far. Fit is consistent with other Ghost models. I went with my usual size, and they fit perfectly — secure in the heel, roomy in the toe box, and breathable enough for warm runs. Overall, if you ’ re a Ghost fan who likes to mix in some trail miles, this shoe is a winner. [ I 've been looking for a good alternative to multisurface running trail shoes and these hit the mark! They transition great from trail to road and back again. I was skeptical of the large heel padding at first, but it does n't catch on rocks or roots and makes for an easy and comfortable run even on rough terrain. And while they grip great on mud and slippery rocks, it does n't feel like running in golf shoes while on the roads. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by these and have been wearing them every other day of running. They are also comfortable for house wear or yard work if you 're not into trail or ultrarunning.

Will resist water to a point, but it ’s not meant to be a rain boot. Comfortable, extremely so during the first 200 miles. Love the grip of the soles, especially in more treacherous conditions. I needed some hiking shoes to hike North Cascades National Park in Seattle. Never had hiking shoes before, but hated that they looked so clunky. I saw that trail running shoes work well for hikes as well and allow your feet to stay flexible. I saw these for sale and gave it a try. Wow. It genuinely provided so much support for hiking and light jogging. I hiked through brush, rocks, gravel, tree roots, grass, and other terrains. I did n't slip a single time and the shoes really cushioned each step. Safe to say, I would have been doomed with regular running shoes. After hiking a few days, the shoes still looked new! They were a bit dusty from the trail itself, though. Treads on the bottom looked new, did n't see any scratches or gouges, laces were not frayed. I got the Gore- Tex variant, so at the end of the hike, I walked into the shallow end of a lake and wiped them off, no water got in. I half- sized up. My regular shoe size is a 9, but I went 9. 5 because I wore thicker socks and appreciate the toe room during hiking as I do n't want my toes banging the front of the shoe. Feet also swell when hiking. All in all, I hiked around 20 miles on this trip as well as walking around city areas, so probably closer to 30 miles. I had no issues whatsoever and would recommend them. If Nike wants to sponsor me for this review, I 'm all ears because they 've won me over with these purposeful shoes.

I always go for the XA Pro 3D. I don ’ t normally go for the Goretex. As others have mentioned, this and other models are longer than in previous years. I ’ ve always gone with the same size& had to size down a half size for all shoes this year. The Goretex liner is built into the upper tongue area better than in previous years- no more sock to slip into- or it wouldn ’ t be an option for me. The toe cap& sole are key for features for me. Fortunately the sides( near the ankle) are lower- some of the previous Goretex models were too high. The lacing system doesn ’ t seem as durable as previous models& I hope it holds up. Thats my only concern. The stiff soles( that I want) make them a bit less comfortable than some of the lighter shoes but these are great for legit hiking.

Great Customer service. I went to this location on the recommendation from a gym member on where to get good shoes. I could n't remember the brand. But within a couple minutes Jalen in the athletic shoe department knew the shoes I was looking for. He was very knowledgeable about all the brands the store carried and knew of several other brands I had in mind. This store is n't a convenient location for me. I don ’ t run trails a lot but I like having light and comfortable shoes for hikes. These are an excellent choice, the foam offers plenty of protection in rocky terrain but its not so high that you feel unstable. Very first hike with these, I came across snow and mud and am pretty happy with how it held up, great traction and no wet feet. Will probably get a customized version when that ’s available or stock up on alternate colorways.

I have been wearing the XA PRO for what seems like forever. The most important feature of any shoe is how it fits YOUR particular foot and the XA PRO really seems made for my feet. The shoe is deep enough to accommodate my custom orthotics and are sturdy enough to protect my feet for walking, biking or hiking. I have several pairs and wear them every day. My best guess is that I have been wearing Salomon's for 20 years and I have never had issues with quality or durability. Overall, I ’ m very happy with this edition of the Trail Glove! I previously left a pretty scathing review for the Trail Glove 6, and I ’ m so happy with the improvements for the 7. The barefoot feel is back with a grippy tread, and the upper leaves room for toe splay. The tread coming up over the big toe took a little breaking in, but after a few runs, it felt fine and is kind of nice to have that toe protection on trail. [ My first initial thought once getting the Nike ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 out of the box was the sleek yet stand out design and ALL THAT FOAM. Maybe a thicker loop or removal of the strap for other features or design would be my suggestion. Overrall however I feel extremely fortunate I was able to wear these shoes first hand and try them on. It ’ ll definitely be my contender when it comes to any future hiking, trail or everyday shoe!

I just ordered my 4th pair of these. I love them and have completed several trail events ranging from 1/1 marathon distance to 50k wearing them. I even wore them when I ran the Chicago marathon last October, Honolulu Marathon in December and the Rock and Roll half marathon in Vegas in February- they were great on pavement too. The ASU 2 keeps the fun and speed from the original, but refines the fit and feel. Far more stable feeling underfoot with noticeably better grip in the mud. The additional heel padding kept my foot locked in and comfortable. I went true to size and had ample room around my forefoot and toes. They are comfortable with good padding and are so light you won ’ t believe it. The Caldera 8 hold the foot and helps maintain a good stride while feeling solid. [ The Caldera 8 trail shoes might become my new go to for short to intermediate trail runs( 5- 10K). Time will tell because I 'm not going on many bonafide trail runs since it's winter here in Colorado. The overall stability of the shoe along with the reinforced, super knobby soles made it really comfortable and secure for trails ranging from gravel to rocky/rooted mountain trails. The fit was true, but a bit snug, which seem to be common for the trail runners I own. The shoe is really light given the wide base, thick sole, and as advertised, the most cushioning that Brooks has to offer. I 'm glad they include a heel pull tab, which makes it easier to pull on the shoe if you are using a thicker sock for colder runs. I 've never had trail runners with this thick of a midsole or raised sidewalls but my feet and running stride easily adapted to this shoe, no break- in time required... I just ran out the door without any problems. With so much sidewall and the toe cap, the design of the shoe does n't look flexible, but it surprisingly is. The mesh breathable upper was easy to clean off mud, thorns, etc and you ca n't go wrong with black, gray and white for a mens shoe. I would n't change anything about the Caldera 8, every feature has it's purpose for trail runs, but wearers should be aware... when I wore these shoes for casual, daily outings, I had to be aware of the sticky lugs on the soles: `` TrailTack green '' rubber Brooks calls them- they 're great for traction where you need sure- footing but the grippy soles can get caught on cracks, carpets, even your gas pedal, if you are n't expecting it.

[ What an amazing pair of shoes! I wore them on a long weekend trip to New Hampshire. My hubby and I do a lot of hiking/ trail running and we love to explore new places each time we go. I was beyond pleased with these shoes. The fit was true to size( I am a size 8), the cushion was supportive and made it feel like I was walking on air. Each step literally had a bounce to it. The fabric was breathable and kept my feet cool. I was comfortable and pain free despite walking miles each day through different types of terrain. The traction was really good too and I had no issue climbing rocks even when it was wet out. I do love the colors and felt the shoe looked really stylish on. The off white color did get a bit dirty from some muddy conditions though. I found that spot cleaning with soap and water did a great job at getting the dirt off. I would definitely recommend these- they are the only shoes I will wear on a trail from now on.

I typically wear a size 6. 5 in shoes, but I always size up by half a size for running shoes. The size 7 in this particular shoe fit perfectly. They have just enough space to keep me comfortable on both longer and shorter runs across all types of terrain. The design of these shoes is top- of- the- line — they ’ re well made and offer great support. The mesh fabric makes them especially breathable. They ’ re also very comfortable. In fact, the comfort level is my favorite part! The lacing system is unique in these shoes, and I really like it. The elastic loops that are incorporated make lacing a breeze. The toe box is wide enough for stability but not so wide the foot slips. The material is breathable yet durable. The heel area is supportive but didn ’ t cause blisters. The design of the outsole is ideal for gripping different types of running surfaces. The tongue does feel and appear bulky at times but doesn ’ t interfere with the functional aspect. Most importantly — the reactx felt soft and comfortable underfoot with a good energy return without compromising stability. The shoe is lightweight. It worked well for the mildly technical trail runs as well as gravel and road surfaces I wore it on. I would, however, be hesitant to wear it for highly technical trails or wet/slushy conditions. [ The Nike ACG Zegama were an exciting pair of sneakers to test. I am longtime fan of the ACG collection, mainly for it's forward and functional design. These trail sneakers embody both of those fully. I wore these on the trail routes near my home and they full adapted to the uneven and sometimes slippery terrain. I 've worn them on dry runs and just after rainfall, and the footprint/sole of this sneaker felt like it grasped the earth well in both circumstances. The elastic ankle detail hugged my foot just enough for added stabilization. I could really feel the vibram sole and full cushioning which I prefer when trail running. I appreciated the non slip grip the laces had on the upper, they felt secure the duration of each run. But my main takeaway was the width of the sole at the ball of the foot. It really felt different compared to other sneakers I run on trail with. This felt like when my foot stuck the ground, it was fully connecting, giving me more confidence and security with each step. The shoe was comfortable and responsive all around.

I usually struggle finding trail shoes that feel supportive without being too tight, but these fit really well right out of the box. I also loved the overall design because it feels versatile enough for different outdoor activities. The bottom soles have a lot of grip, which made them great for trail hiking, uphill runs, and even climbing over rocky terrain. The cloth- like toe cover almost made it feel like I was running barefoot, but with enough protection and support. The fabric around the feet is soft, lightweight, and breathable. Compared to most hiking shoes, the traction on the bottom feels much lighter, which made it easier to pick up speed and do short runs comfortably. One of my favorite features was the ankle portion because it fits almost like a sock and feels secure without rubbing. What I liked most was how easy it felt to move in them. I was able to comfortably pick up my feet and transition into short uphill runs without feeling weighed down like traditional hiking shoes. Honestly, I wouldn ’ t change anything about the shoe. Even though it ’s not labeled as a wide shoe, it still worked well for my feet and provided solid arch support. My only recommendation would be to wear high socks and avoid wearing them barefoot. I made the mistake of doing a 2- mile uphill run without socks and ended up with blisters, so good socks definitely make a difference.

Maybe the best trail shorts Nike has ever made. The waistband pocket system is excellent, with the rear zip pocket large enough to hold a phone or small flask and multiple other mesh pockets for gels and trail stuff. The outer layer is impossibly lightweight and the perfect length. No bouncing or flopping, just great storage and coverage. They do run a bit big- I have always been XS/S( 27- 28 ” waist) and had to do XXS in these to get a secure fit for the waist and brief liner. Glad I did the exchange though; amazing shorts!

[ Honestly I just like Nike athletic clothing. This Nike Trail T is no different. I ’ m not sure what aspect makes it “ trail worthy ” however I ’ m confident if it involves running it ’s more than merely adequate. I got a large which is just a bit big on me, but I often run somewhere between medium and large so it ’s no big deal. The big two factors are checked with this shirt: non chafing and sweat wicking. Unfortunately it ’s winter here, which makes for mostly treadmill runs. I can say I ’ m excited to see what this can do out in the wild.

I just ran a 50km race with 5, 000 feet of elevation gain and loss wearing these shoes. I was nervous that the toe box height would be too short, but that didn ’ t end up being an issue at all. I didn ’ t get a single blister after getting them from other trail shoes. The front toe shield definitely saved my big toe more than once after slamming into some rocks. The material is strong and able to stretch. They definitely seem like they will stay durable through many miles. These leggings are also light and breathable and smooth to the touch. They were not seamed at the ends and felt smooth. The waist had multiple mesh pockets that go all the way around, which makes it convenient especially when out on trail runs or hikes. You can store small objects in those pockets. There are two hip pockets made of mesh big enough to fit a phone and a zip pocket on the backside of the waistline. There is two elastic bands on the backside with grippy materials that can hold your tee shirts and jackets if you don ’ t like carrying it in your hands. The drawstrings, ACG and Swoosh all have 3M reflective materials. Again, overall great product and would recommend to all women. Very versatile and the functionality is great. The Nike ACG lab team definitely did their thing with this product!

Just breaking in my Montrail Trinity AG Trail Shoes. Out of the box, this shoe checks all the boxes. The seamless mesh upper and overlays bode well for comfort and longevity. After sliding them on, literally, easy entry and hugged my foot( Navic Foot System). It's the little things about this shoe that I appreciate. As an middle aged runner, easy on and easy off is appreciated. The laces are not your typical lace, made with some stretch that again makes for an easy comfortable fit. Nice cushioning on the ankle as well. The Trinity has a 8mm drop with 32mm/24mm stack and form me that worked perfectly. First two runs were in soggy spring conditions with a mix of gravel and single track. The 4mm lugs grip well and gave me confidence on the downhills even on that ever tricky wet Ohio clay. Did n't notice the lugs other than their grip which is complimented by the outsole( Adapt Trax), which is a good thing! The ride was smooth and responsive( Techlite+Dual Density Midsole), you DO N'T get the feeling of riding too high that leads to a loss of stability and performance like I 've felt in other max cushioned shoes. The Trinity has married cushion and performance seamlessly. I was able to glide along on the flats as well as take the sharp turns with confidence then bomb the downhills. I had this slight forward propulsion feeling that is always welcome, that comes from the Tech( Adaptive Guidance Pebex Plate) that also does the job taking on heavier rocks and roots. Bottom line these shoes are exactly what I 've been lookin for in a trail shoe. Looking forward to the next 500 miles in these bad boys!

I bought one of them almost a year ago and I put on them over 1000 miles, and still look great on the top, the bottom is gone so the best shoes for running ever, today I have 5 pair of Montrail shoes, my feet always feel great and I don ’ t have any issue, like knee pain or something else, to me just the perfect running shoes

[ Employee of columbia] The midsole on these shoes is super comfortable. Feels like i 'm running on clouds, I also love the outsole grip. It did well on wet, mossy rocks. Fit works well for me even though I have wide feet. Ca n't speak to durability yet, but I think the overlways will keep the upper in good shape for many miles to come!

[ I recently tried the Catamount 4 Tail Shoe. I run mainly on gravel/dirt roads and paths so a trail shoe is a must! These felt a little tight in the uppers for the 1st couple of runs then I fell in love with them and they have been my go to ever since! I usually purchase a size 10 1/2 to an 11 in women ’s and I do prefer a tighter fit. A men ’s 8 1/2 have worked well for me. I have an average width foot and the toe box fit is great. I ’ m 30+ miles in and these have kept me sure footed and the cushion has kept me from any stone bruises! I look forward to many more miles in these! The colors have just been a fun bonus, as the darker teal hasn ’ t gotten dirty looking.

[ I had not worn Brooks running shoes before so this was my introduction. I 've been a runner for over 40 years and ran many races- 5K, 10K, 10 Miler, 1/2, and Full Marathons. Now I 'm out there to only compete with myself. These shoes felt really good right away! Lots of cushioning( which I like) and support. I do n't choose running shoes based on how they look but these are nice- looking shoes. It took me a run or two to get used to the difference between my other shoes but now they feel so comfortable. My time has improved a bit also. I need a wide- toe box and these were perfect. I have only run in them in cold weather so I 'm not sure about how they function in the heat. I also only ran on paved roads. PROS: Good support, Plenty of room in the toe box, Plenty of cushioning, lighter than expected, Very comfortable CONS: The tongue is flimsy so you have to hold onto it to put the shoe on. That would not be a deal- breaker for me though.

[ After running several miles I can say these are amongst my favorite shoes for trail running. The soles are thick with good cushion with each step. The laces secure tight to my foot with zero sliding around. I have one other pair I currently run in and plan on using these in my rotation going forward. I ’ m also a huge fan of the aesthetic, in fact they ’ re probably my favorite running shoe in terms of appearance and colorway. If I was to purchase another pair, however, I would order a half size up as the toe box is slightly more narrow and my big toe rubs slightly. One major thing to know is there is not a lot of arch support which would make them less ideal if you have a flatter foot. The shoes work well for me and I ’ d happily purchase them again when it ’s time for a new pair.

[ I typically wear a size 10 or 10. 5 depending on the brand. The size 10 Catamount 4, fit snuggly and kept my heel locked in place, while still allowing for plenty of wiggle room in the toes. Took these out of the box and went on a quick 8 mile run the first day( paved road) and another 7 miles the following day( paved& some loose gravel). The shoes feel lighter on my feet than I expected, very responsive, and provide a ton of cushioning for the heel. The fabric is lightweight& breathable, which kept my feet from overheating towards the end of runs. It ’s been very dry and warm lately; so, I wasn ’ t able to test how they hold up in inclement weather. The traction is great on loose gravel and paved roads alike. I ’ m a big fan of the color scheme though I know bright colors aren ’ t for everyone. My only complaint is the tongue feels a bit thin and has a tendency to get bunched up when you are putting on the shoes. This isn ’ t a sticking point in the slightest because if you hold onto the tongue while sliding feet into shoes, it ’s no longer a problem. Overall I ’ m extremely satisfied with these shoes and quickly becoming my new go- to.

[ The Brooks Catamount 4 are some of the most comfortable running shoes I ’ ve worn. The fabric is sturdy yet breathable and while I do wish they were available in more color options the current design is quite sleek. I was shocked when I first put them on by how light they felt on my feet. I ’ ve run in them multiple times now and am pleased to share that my knees and back do not ache after a long run when I wear these shoes. They provide wonderful support and protection, making running more enjoyable and allowing me to train harder.
