Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10, 000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking. They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips do n't accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. The zippered thigh pocket is big enough for the phone. The two front pockets are huge and I like the back zippered pocket for my maps. The fit is not tight or loose. Upon bending, the Ferrosi material seemed to be stretchable and not confining. The pants felt comfortable and breathable to the point that I thought I was wearing shorts. Even hiking during the New Mexico monsoons, I kept dry. Hiking through the brush, I was n't sure if the pants would tear, the Ferrosi pants passed the test. As far as style is concerned, I feel and look great in these Ferrosi pants. Keep up the good work Outdoor Research, ca n't wait to get a Ferrosi jacket.

[ These pants are extremely comfortable, and they do not bind. They are also cool in hot weather, and dry out quickly if they get wet. I have tried to get by with cheaper alternatives from a big box warehouse store that starts with C. But they never fit right. It ’s worth it to spend a little more and get these pants.

I dug a trench in the rain, in January, during some terrible rains in the middle of the night to keep my basement from flooding. I was dry and comfortable in these pants. I suspect it's more fun to talk in the woods with them and get sweaty, and I 'll try that too, but first rev of these in the field is positive.

This is my first Fjallraven pair of trousers. I 've previously bought from other outdoor brands. Pros: Material seems high quality and very breathable even with long johns underneath. It feels durable and the stitching is immaculate. It has a lot of ventilation pockets and deep storage pockets. Deep pocket placement is great so items wo n't poke you while walking or squatting/sitting. The ankles are slightly flared so thick socks and boots can fit comfortably. They also have buttons so you can do a tighter fit. It is comfortably high waisted and makes movement smooth/easy. I have a curvy figure and the fit is very flattering. No crotch seam. Cons: there are questionable too many seams, which squeeze on you when squatting or bending the knee, but the pants may be flexible because of the seams. It is not a stretchy material so your size is very important. It hugs your waist, so it is not easy to put the pants on as a curvy person. Once it's on, it feels like a second skin though. It does run small. I was hoping a large would let me wear a base layer, but it just barely fits. With the amount of seams, a base layer will probably protect your skin from seams digging in. Will update once I take it out for a few weeks.
