Very well made flannel. It feels like thick vintage flannel from your Dad. Thinker than North Face Arroyo flannels. Reading other reviews, the size recommendations are all over the place… stick true to size. I am 6 ’ 0 ”, 170 lb with long armed canoeing/running build and bought a large in this( and wear a large across North Face and other brands of flannels). This Valley Twill fits very similar to the North Face Arroyo flannel… except this Valley Twill is about 1 ” shorter in the body. Compared to other flannels that I own this is slightly shorter in body… but everything else accurate. The Pike ’s Purple flannel color looks great and was half- off on Dick ’s website. Great value for thick flannel. Recommended.

I have 2- I black that I 've put through the dryer, the other I 've hung dry. The one going through the dryer has got the pills( like others have mentioned). For me, they 've been indestructible. Expensive but the cost/benefit has been worth it. I 'm surprised that others have worn theirs thin- I use mine in the bush constantly and have been anything but gentle on them.

He's impressed with how windproof it is and with a bergtagen woolterry base hoodie underneath that's all you need in a cold Welsh windy day. I note some previous comments about the polyester content, but buying the same shirt( albeit indifferent colours) 4 years ago- the material compostion is the same as per the labels? Recently purchased this shirt at a local outdoor shop. Probably the best fitting shirt I own. At 5'11, 180lbs, I typically fall right in between medium and large for most brands. Medium tends to be on the verge of too tight and large tends to be baggy. The Ovik twill in medium is a perfect fit. Exactly right across the shoulders, perfect length, and does n't billow around the waist. Quality is top notch.

[ I bought this shirt a month ago and have worn it often. It is right in between a shirt and a jacket. Exactly the weight I was looking for. It is soft but has some of the toughness that a jacket would have so I think it will put up with a lot of outdoor use.
