I have tried thorogoods, wolverines, and red wings all at 2- 3x the price of the boots, and these have consistently lasted longer for a much better price, the soles wear at a much slower rate and the leather does n't fall apart like others I have used. I normally add an extra insert for added support, but there really is no need for these boots. While mainly for work, i definitely want to get the most out of these boots, but i must say that these particular boots i have are not cut out for hiking. I 've tried Red Wing, Timberland, Wolverine... these boots are the only ones that hold up to the daily beating that I give them. I love how durable they are and how easy they are to clean. I only have 2 small complaints, but being the best boots I 've ever owned... Carhartt will still get a 5 star review. 1. The laces need replaced after roughly 3- 6 months of use because they get shredded under the duress of tying and tightening your laces daily. 2. Being waterproof comes in handy often, especially when working outside. But it does mean that if you have sweaty feet, it keeps the sweat in too. Not quite as `` breathable '' as I would want. But like I said, I 've never found a boot to do a better job. So it is what it is.

The insoles are like walking on clouds, the boots never let water in, and the toe let's you get a pretty good kick in on whatever piece of lumber is n't going quite where it should be. I bought these for work, but they eventually just became my go to shoes because of how comfortable they are. I wore them everywhere, work, the grocery store, dates with the wife, you name it, those boots were there. The only reason I got rid of them was because the bottom sole tore itself off of the rest of the boot. I guess all good thing do have to come to an end eventually... I have recently made a choice to try to purchase whatever I can from American Made Manufacturers. The quality of the goods are usually better, the price is usually a little higher. These Rocky Worksmart boots are more comfortable then other more expensive well known brands that I have purchased, they are waterproof and have the composite toe protection, very competitively priced and MADE IN THE USA!!!

I 've had these boots about a month and my first use was in the desert for a work assignment. They did not need to be broken in and took great care of my feet in very rough terrain. They are comfortable and have kept my feet dry when working in rain. I have had no issues with them at all.

I had a pair from the store I used to buy the higher boot for support 12 pairs to be exact The company is awesome with their customer service!!!!
