I prefer this style of helmet over the conventional high ventilation ones, namely because of the aesthetics. Size M fits my noggin quite snug and I feel this will protect me. [ Over the last 12 months, when it comes to mountain biking, I have completely gone over the deep end. I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. I do n't race and I consider myself an intermediate rider, but I am willing to push myself to get better and try new terrain/features. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology — Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

First, I really liked this helmet from a comfort and fit perspective. It kept my head dry, fit well without constricting, so no complaints there. Second, I ’ ve referred to my helmet in the past tense because on a recent ski trip( I ’ m a boarder, but my family skis, so I ’ m going with ski trip here) I caught my edge on my last run( I know, I know) and I was slammed into the slope on my back, and I whacked my head on the ground. It was a hard impact. I still got a concussion, but I am certain my helmet saved me from much worse. I ’ ll be replacing my helmet with another Smith. Hopefully the new one will have a more peaceful retirement.

[ I ’ ve used this helmet on warm Southern California slopes and in horrid conditions in British ’s Colombia. It is extremely comfortable and the fit is exceptionally customizable, the magnetic chin strap is awesome and makes everything easy. It would entirely depend on your personal fit and how much headcover you wear under it but the helmet is not particularly warm even with the vents closed. Wearing a balaclava or skull cap barely changes the fit and you can easily fit a helmet accepting hood over it for those extra cruddy days. A nice addition is the adjustable visor which means this helmet will roll with just about every kind of goggle out there. It also has perfect spacing to give just enough venting so there ’s no fogging on those warmer days. Regarding fit I usually run on the extreme edge of medium, this helmet is perfectly true to fit and was just a hair small on me which is what I anticipated. The liner is easily removable to make room for a hat or thicker liner. All in all Oakley did a solid job on this, luckily I haven ’ t given it ’s impact resistance a solid test yet.

[ Much to my relief, this helmet is pretty warm. It seems that any time I 've gone skiing this year the temps have been in the negatives( Fahrenheit) and evidently there's not a whole lot the helmet is protecting, since I forgot to wear my hat underneath it for a while, but it was a good hour before I was wondering why my ears were starting to get cold. My mountain bike helmet has MIPS, and I 've found out first- hand how well that works, so I have real confidence in the helmet to keep me safe for when I get false confidence in my lacking ability on the slopes. This Smith Method Pro MIPS helmet is amazing! The reason that I bought this helmet is because of all the great reviews and studies I read on impact protection. I am one that prefers function over form. However, this helmet accomplished both. The fit is perfect and the helmet really looks great in the military green color that I bought it in. While I have the Vantage 1, I had a terrible fall last week. I likely blacked out for a few seconds do to the severity of the impact. A few friendly skiing comrades assisted me and after regaining my composure, they followed me down to ski patrol to get checked out. Wish I could thank those guys at Jay Peak more. While my helmet was severely damaged consistent with the MIPS technology( breaks to absorb the energy from the fall), I passed all the concussion tests and walked away essentially with only a shattered ego. Thank You for designing and selling such a great product. I will be replacing my children ’s helmets with your technology as well. I donated my helmet to the Ski Patrol at Jay Peak for educational purposes…why you should be wearing a helmet.

Our 3rd Evo Shield helmet. Well constructed, good padding which has held up, and my DD has found comfortable. Historically had run a little big for her and had to keep the chin strap on it, which she did n't like. With the new sizing models now though the fit is much better.

My 9 yr old daughter wears glasses and she has struggled with the ability to wear her glasses under her helmet. She can wear them with this helmet. The wide field of view is a plus as well as the Velcro ear pads. The Velcro ear pads allowed us to move them( or better position them) to make room for her frames coming around her ears. I highly recommend if you have a player that wears corrective glasses( or probably even sunglasses)

My daughter has had her Evoshield catchers gear about a year now. She has taken a couple hard foul balls off the helmet and has been fine. I think with her old helmet she would have ended up with a slight concussion. The fit and protection of the Evoshield seems to be much better than anything else she has had.

This can be decertified yearly and worn for 10 years depending on your child ’s growth. We have had issues where the helmet was too loose and dropped to the brow and some that were too high on the forehead. But the SpeedFlex was just right! I purchased this helmet because it was a good blend for the type of riding I do- sometimes bike trails, gravel, and road riding. I have always used Smith helmets for skiing and am impressed with them- the helmets fit well and the koroyd gives superior protection without being uncomfortable. So enter the Network helmet choice. I am very pleased with the performance of this helmet- the fit is great and it has has just the right amount of added koroyd protection. The helmet still vents well and the extra protection is something that I appreciate and hope to never have to use. I have read reviews that indicated this helmet a little heavy but I have not found that to be the case. The additional slide in sun visor is also useful and have used that on bike trails an don some gravel rides. Overall great helmet- the color selection that accompanies these helmets is also very nice.

seems to be a nice helmet. we have been using it indoors at domeball right now. My 13 year old daughter seems to have a smaller head so this works perfectly for her. the one thing she did n't like about this helmet is the chin strap is wierd. It is like a canvas strap- not stretchy like the RIP- IT brand helmets have. i do n't think she will be using that at all.
