I bought this right before leaving for a two week in Costa Rica. I figured it would be rainy in Costa Rica even though it was the dry season. It still rained and got this bag wet. I bought this type of roll down water bag design because I have used just the bags for deep water soloing climbing and they work great. This bag worked just perfect to keep all my stuff dry. Mind you, I did n't jump into pools of water with it on and was n't stuck in downpours. I gave it only 4 stars because I did n't fully test it, however I 'm sure it would work just fine. Make sure you deflate the majority of the air out so you can roll it down tighter. Also, make sure to keep it rolled down evenly when securing the buckles. It will unravel some on one side and you would n't want it loose on one side to keep the water out. I 'm a male- 6ft 180lbs and the pack fits great!

I just got this pack a couple of minutes ago. It is very spacious and can hold one sleeping bag, plus a couple of extra things. Please beware though, it says tomato is the only color they have and that's what I ordered. Although, I received a black and gray pack. But, I 'm okay with that because I like that color. Back to the point though, I got the wrong color. It is a very good backpack overall. Also, its weather resistant. Its mostly, i would say, 95% a rubber type material. It seems very durable and feels like it can take a beating. 4 of 5 stars because DICK 'S sent the wrong color and not even a color advertised. I 'm not rating lower because I actually preferred black and gray.

This bag was never advertised as water proof keep that in mind. I use this as a day bag, it has performed flawlessly so far through torrential rain, sleet and snow. Do make sure you get atleast three tight rolls on the top. I 'm giving it 4 stars because of the length of time I 've had it, about 5 months. It's been on many day hikes and a couple overnighters. I usually do n't go over 12- 15 pounds, I pack a full hammock setup. Which includes tarp and underquilt as well as my Bushcrater trio, pack ax, a saw and a medium size knife as well as food and water and other small items. All said and done it works and yes Outdoor Products stands behind their gear, I 've had warranty replacement on one of my kids school bags with no questions asked.

[ I got this pack for longer day hikes, and specifically for an upcoming trip. Have n't used it for said trip yet, but have used it on local hikes to get a good feel for it and it checks all my boxes. It's uncomplicated( just one main compartment with some exterior storage) and I love the padded hipbelt. Also like the fact that there's compatibility for a water bladder. The side pockets stretch enough to accommodate the large nalgene, and there's a small zipper compartment at top for keys, wallet, etc.

This is my first day pack with internal frame. It makes it very comfortable to wear, balancing the weight down onto my hips( even unbelted and even wearing it on one shoulder) and the frame with mesh back keeps my back cooler even in 93 degree humid weather. The pockets are n't ideal. The top front pocket is very small( and if you put a heavy phone there it is unbalanced). The internal( water or laptop) pocket is deep- so anything small put in there is lost to posterity( beware). The water bottle pockets on the side fit a smaller water bottle easily but tougher with anything larger. I used it as a carry on( personal item) and no complaints from the flight attendants about how it fit under the seat in front of me, though the top did stick out a little and I found it to be a bit in the way of stretching my lets. It fit a ton of stuff- I had an umbrella and rain jacket, wallet, cosmetic size bag with electronic cables and earbuds, cosmetic bag with actual cosmetics, book, magazine, two journals, an airport shopping bag( small), and small cosmetic bag with meds in there. There is a helpful clip to attach your neck pillow! It also has a rain cover in a pouch at the bottom that was very useful in a downpour, if a little hard to extract and put in place on the fly.

I bought this a a month ago prior to travelling from UK to Canada and the USA. Used for work/ gym/ commute( on the days I need a bigger bag), train/ carryon air travel and day hikes. I can ’ t really fault it, you can use all the space available very easily, there ’s enough rigidity in the back to hold its shape even when not full and straps and handles seem sufficiently sturdy and comfortable. Some might prefer more pockets and compartments but I prefer the openness and flexibility between the quick access pocket at the top and the main compartment that butterflies open. You can be more strategic how you use that so long you remember what you need is on what side and only open that part. Drinks holder seems very sturdy, never drops. This replaces a Arc ’ Teryx Mantis that broke and is recommend this one for sure, and feels better made!

I took this bag on a 10- day trip to Italy, and it exceeded all my expectations. With an average of 25- 30k steps each day, the bag remained incredibly comfortable throughout. One day, I carried two bottles of wine and a quilt around Capri with ease; on another, I transported five bottles of wine from Ischia to Sorrento without a hitch. The clam shell design was a game- changer — when I nearly got pickpocketed in Rome, the thief couldn ’ t get into the bag, thanks to how I secured the zippers. Initially, I was concerned the bag might be too big, but when it came time to pack souvenirs and wine, the extra space was a lifesaver. I bought the 30L travel backpack in February of 2024, along with some small and medium packing cubes from Peak Design. I 've been on two trips using this bag and the cubes, one for a 3 day business trip and another for a three week trip through Chili, Uruguay and Argentina. This has turned out to be a nearly perfect pack for me. On both trips I filled it with one medium cube containing pants, a small cube with shirts, and another cube with underwear. My 15 '' laptop also fit in nicely along with various toiletries and smaller items. I found it to be very comfortable on my back and easy to adjust. It has a nice, clean, unpretentious look to it. I also have a Pakt2 and an Aer Travel Pack 3. Although both are a little larger than the Peak Design, I found that the Peak Design turned out to be the most practical to pack and access among the three packs. I am very satisfied with this pack and the cubes. They make for a great packing system.

This is exactly what I wanted out of a small backpack. Minimal pockets, but enough for what you need for a day out. Works great for work/commuting/gym/carryon. I mainly carry my bottle, an iPad, and a couple wires. Sometimes throw an extra shirt in there too if I ’ m going to the gym. If you ’ re using it for more than a day, I would go bigger, BUT for an everyday bag, this is perfect.

This is a great bag. Although it doesn ’ t have a dedicated laptop pocket, my computer is really easy toe grab from the main compartment. For some people, it might not have enough organization, but it has more room when you needed. I have other bag that has ton of organization, but it just can not fit a lot of stuff. It ’s a great bag for a day hike where all one needs is a hoodie, water, sunscreen, battery pack, and other small necessities. It ’s gone on quite a few day hikes with me and works great. This backpack is very big and sturdy and it can definitely hold a lot of whatever you need. I like that is has additional smaller pockets on the handles and straps to keep small things like wallets, cash, or cards dry and separate from the rest of the items you 're holding. the arm and waist straps are seemingly strong and easy to adjust to proper fit, and they hold the pack in place very securely. It's also nice looking and the easy to remove/attach waterproof cover is an additional plus.

I needed a mid- size bag for a full day of multi- pitch climbing, crag hopping, and lots of hiking in between. Priorities were lightweight, supportive, wearable while climbing, and water bladder compatibility. This bag fits the bill on all of those and is built to comfortably accommodate a harness while being to easily access gear. Where it missed the mark for me was that it's built for a male body. I tried as many adjustments as much as possible but as a 5' 4 '' '' female I could n't get the right fit. I hope osprey recognizes an untapped market and creates female versions of these technical bags some day, like they do for hiking bags!

I have n't used this pack but it looks great, with excellent materials, pockets and overall construction. It also seems to tick most boxes for ultra runners who may be doing multi- day events requiring a lot of mandatory gear. Some runners may question the design choice of having only one side of the vest strap capable of carrying a 500ml soft flask. Perhaps this is the preferred option for fastpacking but having capacity for two soft flasks in addition to two zippered pockets on either side like the BD Distance 15 pack would be ideal, at least for ultra runners.

Believe it or not, I have tried several UL backpacks in my career. The only downside I see is that the shoulder pocket with the zipper is too tiny to hold a standard- sized cell phone comfortably. I am a 35 years old nomad, and I 've been a nomad since my childhood( thank you, mom and dad!). So you can imagine that I ’ ve gone through my fair share of travel gear. But five years ago, I made the switch to this backpack, and let me tell you: it changed the game!! This isn ’ t just a bag; it ’s my life in carry- on form. We ’ re talking everything: clothes, two laptops, cameras, wires, other electronics, toiletries, you name it... I even managed to attach a tripod and camping tent on the front face for a while.( Who even designs something that versatile? Genius!!!) I am not the most careful person with my belongings, so backpack has seen it all. I ’ ve flown on airlines across every continent, and not once did it get issues using it as a carry- on. Okay, there was that one tiny plane where it wouldn ’ t fit in the overhead bin. But I found an easy solution: I pulled out my laptops, slid this backpack under the seat, and we were good to go.( Sure, the flight was cramped, but blame the plane, not the backpack 😂) It ’s not just about the space, though. This bag is comfy to carry for hours, perfectly balanced, with multiple carrying options and a sternum strap that ’s somehow both lightweight and super durable. And yes, it ’s heavier than my previous bags. But I ca n't complain, because it ’s built to last. Five years of travel( and trust me, my trips are not gentle), and it still looks like I just bought it. No scratches, no tears, not much wear( you can see it in the pic, although the backpack was super dirty on one of those pics lol). And I loooove the water resistance. This thing has survived downpours that left me drenched while my gear stayed dry. Mind you, I have my stuff inside plastic bags inside my backpack, just in case. But the last few times, nothing inside got wet anyway. I haven ’ t tested it recently, and I know that the water resistance may decrease over the years... but from my past experiences, it ’s never let me down.( I ’ ll update this review if that ever changes) If you ’ re on the fence because of the price, but you are looking for something to use for years, let me save you some time: just get it. After five years, I can ’ t imagine using another backpack. It ’s my ultimate travel companion, and if ever it breaks, I would buy another one for sure. I hope this helps someone!!!

I absolutely love this backpack in almost every way. It offers so many smart solutions for organizing, packing, and commuting. There are plenty of videos on YouTube showcasing how well it ’s built, and all of that is absolutely true. The material feels incredible, and while placing a tripod in the side pockets does stretch it a bit, I ’ ve never felt like the material would give way. It ’s by far the best backpack I ’ ve ever owned. That said, it ’s a bit small for me, as the waist belt sits a little too high for someone like me — a 1. 90m tall guy with broad shoulders.

[ I 'd been using my old pack for 20 years and just bought the Osprey Atmos 65. I just came back from a five day trip in the Beartooths( Montana) and I was glad to have the new pack. It definitely put the weight on my hips and was much easier on my shoulders than my old pack. The suspension system was also great, making this a more comfortable backpack. It's almost 4 pounds lighter than my previous pack as well. I 've only used it 5 days, so ca n't really comment on the long- term durability. I 've had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders over the past 2 1/2 years so my shoulders appreciated the new pack as well. Very pleased so far.

I did n't understand the significance of a female- specific pack until I got this one-- I had been using a 75L+ unisex/ male pack for 10+ years and it always felt just a little off. The first time putting this one on, fully loaded, for a 5 day backpacking trip, I realized what a game- changer it was. Originally I was concerned going down in size by 5L, but all the pockets and stash points make up for it. It packs much better than my previous pack and the weight is distributed better and sits on my hips more comfortably. Definitely recommend!

Just got this pack as a replacement for my very old and trusted Arial 75. Despite being a guy I got the women's as my last one was a women's and it fit me so well. I am 5' 7 '' '' and 155#. Super comfortable and easy to adjust. I have just used it so far for day backcountry skiing. It easily synched down to a small size and was narrow with no wobble for skiing in the trees. I got this backpack to prepare for my 3 month trip in the Caribbean and it ’s has been so helpful to say the least. I have an overpacking problem but all of the different compartments and pockets made it so I could fit everything I needed. The support on the backside of it helps so much with my back pain and doesn ’ t make me feel exhausted at the end of a busy travel day. Furthermore, the top bit comes off as a smaller backpack which was perfect for day trips. The only thing i would change would be the smaller buckles that attach the front pocket to the bag, they were a little weak. However, I don ’ t have any worry they will come undone when I check it at the airport. Overall, this bag has been a HUGE help!! It definitely has made my traveling much easier.

This is a great backpack for the price. I am giving it 5 stars because it's everything you would want and need in a pack. The middle zipper opening is an amazing feature that allows you to get into your items without having to pull everything out from the top like a conventional pack. One downside are the hip straps. I feel they could be slightly larger for the size of pack, I had some discomfort but nothing terribly bad, likely had more to do with me being out of shape as well. I recommended this to a buddy and he has one and uses it quite often like myself.

I 've had this pack since 2006. It's been on many adventures with me, from backpacking in Canyonlands to training hikes in Teluride to travel through Taiwan. For several years, I used this bag for grocery shopping and going to the laundry mat, when it was often 70 pounds. It's so comfortable that even fully loaded, I can easily dance while wearing it. This pack has survived bear attacks, rain storms, deserts, baggage handlers, and having its capacity tested endlessly. After 15 years, I 've noticed the first sign of wear- a small tear in a seam.
