I 'm 180 lbs and got these for long easy miles( ~10: 30min/mi), but they weirdly shine at higher paces(< 8: 00min/mi)-- the foam compresses more and gives a nice bounce, and the( aggressive) rocker helps propel you. If they loosen up and feel less stiff over time, they 'll be the perfect long run shoe, but right now I like them best for tempo/threshold runs.

I have traditionally worn Nike Pegasus but wanted something different for increasing miles. Some of my military friends said to try these and they were right. I 've never run in a max cushioning shoe before, and what difference.. Being a bigger guy( 6' 2 '', 230), I 'll never go back to anything else. The cushioning in the Max is on point. I finally found a great second shoe for faster days! It 's got the support I want from my Adrenaline, but less cushioning- and more importantly much less weight. It 's lighter but does n't feel too flat. Testing it a few times on one of my regular 7- 9 mile routes, I have been consistently 30- 45s/mile faster each time I ran which I credit to the shoes being lighter and likely getting a little bit faster foot turnover.

I am older, and just started my running game, but I do walk a lot with the weighted vest. Like most people my age, I do have a little knee pain when running, especially before I hit my stride, but I have found that the discomfort is minimal while running in these shoes. To me they are considerably lighter than my launch 9 GTS and I can definitely feel that while I 'm running. And though I 'm not fast, I do run for 30 to 40 minutes at a time with some of that being in a weighted vest and still do not have the knee pain that I had before while running in other shoes like my launch 9s. I also like the way the laces lay up the side of the foot rather than the top of the foot and feel it 's more comfortable some of my other shoes as well. I will almost definitely buy another pair of these before they change it up again.

this is a very stable shoe. It feels slightly narrow, but it really distributes the weight across your foot. I live in an area where there is snow on the ground a lot of the time and so I really appreciate the Gore- Tex finish on this shoe. I use it mainly for walking. I had an ACL reconstruction surgery nine months ago and I walk across mud and unstable ground in the forest near where I live when I wear the ghost 16 gtx I am very confident that I will not slip.

I 've had the last several Glycerin models except the 21. And thought they were the most comfortable shoes ever. These blow them out of the water. I 'm not a runner. I wear these for health issues, fairly severe foot neuropathy from a spinal injury. When i discovered the Glycerin series it gave me enough relief that i could manage to make it thru a whole store again. And even start getting on a treadmill a little bit. Then along comes this new slip on model, they are just what the doctor should 've ordered. I doubled my usual distance on the treadmill and then went and did several stores. I ca n't thank Brooks enough for the new lease on life these shoes will give me! Great work! They are mild to hot weather shoes for sure, opening the doors in the freezer section at the store and you could feel the freezing air right away. Be awesome when it 's hot out. I have slightly wider than average feet, but not wide. I have high arches And I generally run mid foot. I 'm 17 stone and needed shoes that could handle my weight, I googled running shoes for large males and brooks came up, since then I 've always used brooks shoes for my running and walking, I started with trace 2 's and walked/speed walked for 11 months on roads and football fields/rugby fields 3 miles a day then when they wore out I graduated to glycerine GTS which is when I started running/jogging again and I continued using them for another year 3 miles a day and also in the gym on the treadmill and on the stairmaster so then I needed to get a new pair so I chose glycerin again which I have to say are the best overall shoes for exercising on all different levels I 'm very happy with the first and second pair of glycerins and continue to wear them for gym work and as a very comfortable shoe for my 12 hour shifts as a care giver. I recently bought a pair of ghost max 2 shoes and I love them but they have much stiffer/harder feel all round and a larger roll forward type sole shape, I 've had to break them then in for the last month as they are much more robust than the glycerins which are straight out of the box run ready! I 'm enjoying the ghost max but be warned that they are so, so different than the trace and glycerin, it 's completely changed my running style with the ghost max.... Conclusion.. They are higher and more supportive and stronger all round and slightly heavier too but the finish is top quality, the DNA foam is exceptional quality and comfort the colours are as usual amazing, The tounge padding is good but moves around a lot, the laces are good, the air cooling is great as usual, I 'll always buy brooks as they always make shoes that the customers want and need to exacting standards and for a 17 stone 245 pound heavy built weight training/running fanatic they suit me and my exercise obsessions very well...

If you ’ re a big, tall guy with foot issues, this is THE shoe for you. I ’ m 6 ’ 4 ” tall, about 250 lbs., with a bit of plantar fasciitis in my right foot, and high arches. I had the Beast 20 shoes before this, and these are the perfect replacement for those. Well- cushioned, great arch support, and very stable to walk/run in. The only criticism I can give is that I ’ d it if the upper reached a little higher on my foot. Having high arches means my foot is taller than usual, so I barely have enough lace- length left to tie them. I can get them tied, but barely, and since the tongue has that elastic strap on one side, it gets pulled toward that a bit.

I bought these to race a 10k, and they killed it today in my time trial. They are my first “ plated ” racers, so it was a new feel for me, but as someone who has owned many pairs of Brooks, it was also very familiar. They are comfortable and lightweight, with a surprising amount of support for a non “ support ” shoe( I normally buy GTS). They have a softer sole than I ’ m used to, but they are very springy and fast, especially at paces of 7: 30/mile or faster. Highly recommend!

Traded up to Cascadia 18s- broke out a fresh pair of sixteens vs my new eighteens in a Brooks version of Alien vs Predator on the same trail over consecutive days. I have been wearing Brooks shoes for about 20 years and have tried several different models. The Addictions Walkers were the best for my job, police officer. However, it took me a while to find the right model for everyday use, after work. I have hip and lower back issues. The Walkers were not good for long period wear. The Adrenalines, Glycerins, Ghosts, Beasts and Addiction GTS are all mostly for running and wore down my hips and back. When the Ghost Max SE came out, I tried them on and the difference was amazing. I walk with my wife on a track that, with the other shoes, I could only make it once around because of the hip and back pain. I now make it around three times with very little discomfort. I bought my current pair the end of January and intend to buy another before we go on vacation in Florida the end of August. They are not only great for comfort, but also stylish enough for casual dress. Thank you, Brooks for developing these great shoes. These shoes leave my feet feeling great all day long, and well into the evening when the workday continues into overtime. I have worn Ghosts for several years but the Max is so much better at keeping my feet fresh all day. I will be back for more when I wear these out.

[ Overall I absolutely love these Brooks Ghost Max. I had the previous model and was pleasantly surprised with them and wasn ’ t sure how the updated model would be. Of course Brooks never lets me down. The updated look makes me feel like I have a shoe I can wear for style and running. When I first tried them on I noticed the back of heel cup has a lot more cushion than the previous models. This isn ’ t an issue except that it pushed my foot towards the front of the shoe. I tend to have a wider foot but order my running shoes in a standard width, so this caused my toes to rub a bit more than normal. Also, since they added the fabric around the toe box, it doesn ’ t allow as much movement for my toes. However! When designing that fabric they put little triangle cutouts that happen to be right next to the tip of my big toe. This gives my toe some breathing room when taking a step. Brooks Running gave me this free product to try.

I bought these over 6 months ago and have allowed time for reasonable use before reviewing. I can now comfortably say that I am delighted with these, as they are not only at least as comfortable, if not more so, than previous versions but they are now much more durable, both in terms of the upper sealing/coating and the goretex waterproofing- both showing no signs of wear at all. Overall very happy with them.

This is my fourth pair of Launch shoes. Albeit, two of the previous pairs were Launch 9. If it is n't broke, why get the newer model? I was apprehensive moving up to this model, but well into 50 miles of running, these shoes perform great. Sturdy and fast, with ample cushioning, but not too much.

[ These shoes are great. They provide enough support without being heavy or clunky. They are breathable and flexible making them very comfortable. I typically run on the road or a gravel trail and these were perfect for those conditions. I have bad knees and haven ’ t felt any discomfort or soreness since wearing these shoes. I have been using these shoes during my pregnancy( mostly for walking) and now I use them for running( mostly on the treadmill) and absolutely love how comfortable they are. He is very happy with these shoes, because they are comfortable and they are available in a narrow width. It was especially great to find his size in an all black shoe, which makes his long feet look smaller. He is happy, and his feet are happier. The shoe is very light weight. It has good support and they are very comfortable. It gives that little bounce when running and they feel great. I use them on my daily runs on pavement, dirt, and the treadmill. They have great traction and the laces don ’ t get lose. They could be used as an everyday shoe as well. I did purchase half a size up from regular sneakers. Which I tend to do for any running shoe in general. And I wasn ’ t trying to break the bank on a pair of running shoes. I keep a couple of pairs of Ghosts for years because they keep the same fit and comfort/grip every iteration. I keep a couple of pairs because they are my go to shoes in wet weather to walk the dog over mud and other wet terrain and alternate with one pair in use and the other drying out that day. I wear wool socks so even in cold wet weather I am okay. This new weatherized version helps even more because the fabric resists the wetness more. This is now my only Brooks shoe because unfortunately my favorite for most of my ventures is the Glycerin and the way the heel has changed on the 22 over previous versions slips and does not provide me a secure fit. Sad because the Ghost for wet and muddy and the Glycerin for dry and concrete was a fantastic combination until now. I will stick with the Ghost for wet conditions and hope Brooks does not ruin the Ghost design. A great selling point for the Ghost has been in all iterations so far, if one version fits and is suitable, the next version will not be radically changed and is still a good fit. Radical change is not always a good thing. So, yes, the weatherized change and the new sole are fantastic. And hooray the fit has not changed on the Ghost. The only minor convenience for me is that it is slightly hotter than the regular Ghost because of the beefier weatherization in warm weather. In cooler weather that is a big plus.
