[ I am a ghost 16 GTX convert! I run for fun and training for small 5K ’s. My wife has always loved running in Brooks shoes but I am new to Brooks! This shoe feels wider in the toe box than a Nike zoom pegasus. It has less cushion than a hoku style shoe, but I honestly love the cushion in this shoe. I notice the comfortable feel the most while running uphill or going up stairs. Even if you aren ’ t a major runner, the style and look of this shoe is perfect! They are extremely light and help me go the distance when running without having my feet feel ultra tired. I love that they are nitrogen filled and help with heel support and overall impact especially on rougher terrain. The design looks super stylish with black and gray and looks like very solid shoes. The cushioning is perfect and really absorbs impact without feeling mushy or bottoming out. The stability GuideRails keep things in place and provide correction without feeling aggressive. Fit is pretty true to size and although I don ’ t wear orthotics yet, there is enough room in the upper to accommodate them without issue. [ Winters in the Midwest can be cold, snowy, and not conducive to road running. Once the weather turned to a bearable temperature I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Beast GTS 26 by Brooks. As an avid outdoor runner I am very particular about the shoes I wear for my runs. Let me tell you I was more than pleased with The Beast. The Beast GTS fits right up there with some of the best overall running shoes I have worn. Coming off of winter and a slight Achilles injury I wanted my new pair of running shoes to be comfortable, yet sturdy enough to accommodate my orthotics. The upper cushioning around the ankle was soft, yet the padding gave a sense of proper support. The rubber outsole, nitrogen- infused, was the perfect mix of cushioning and responsiveness. I can say a few times I ran on hard, uneven surfaces without realizing it, which was due to the cushioning. Brooks excels at the cushioning aspect of their shoes and The Beast GTS improves on this. The sole of the shoe was designed for durability and versatility. While using as a road shoe in various weather I never noticed a loss in traction. When I say various I mean exposure to snow and rain. I also got in a few miles on my treadmill and traction was superb as well. As I mentioned I use orthotics and placing them in these shoes was very easy. With the orthotics in place and using the sturdy heel pull I could easily put the shoes on. Never underestimate the usefulness of a well designed heel pull. Once secured I went for a 12 mile run with the orthotics. The overall feel of the shoe was minimally disrupted, but that was due to the orthotic design, not the shoe. I would even go as far as to say the shoe is perfect for orthotic usage, being roomy enough for orthotic placement. Overall The Beast GTS is a great choice for those who average 30 miles or so a week and want comfort and stability in their shoes. The Beast exceeded my expectations and I love the navy blue color they came in. These shoes are definitely designed for running and thoughtful enough to accommodate the use of orthotics. With spring right around the corner I know these shoes will deliver a smooth, comfortable running experience.

[ As a busy parent with limited time, I need a shoe that requires minimal break- in and can flex with a chaotic life. The Brooks Launch 12 delivers. These shoes felt great right out of the box with zero break- in period. I took to the streets and a nearby river trail as part of my normal routine and had no discomfort at all throughout the first week( or second) in my feet or knees. The shoe is very light yet surprisingly substantial enough for whatever surface I encountered: pavement, gravel, dirt, and roots. They held securely( without feeling too tight) whether I was hopping over rocks or rounding tight turns. It also provides good breathability through the toe you can feel as you run. The look is understated compared to all of the crazy chunky shoe designs these days which I really appreciate. While I 've been using these primarily for morning running, I 've taken these out for errands and kid events because of their comfort and non- flashy look. They were also my shoe of choice for my first ever 18 holes of golf. After 4. 5 hours, my feet still felt awesome( much better than the rest of me). These shoes also have deep treads which makes them perfect for training in all types of conditions. I 've used them for both short 3- mile runs on city streets as well as for general cross- training in the gym. They were perfect for both scenarios and have become my go to training shoes. The only drawback is that they are not water resistant. I had stepped in a shallow puddle and despite my foot not being fully submerged, water still seeped in. That said, they also performed well on the slippery roads due to their deep treads. So just watch your step!

[ The Catamount 3 is my new go to shoes. I started training for trail running last fall. The weather changed a lot and its very cold, icy and there is snow everywhere. Not a great time to train outdoors but these shoes are also perfect for indoor cross- training. I love these shoes for various reasons:- they are light and with just enough cushioning to feel comfortable and stable- responsive- have a good grip on terrain, both uphill and downhill which is great to get some speed- are very comfortable. I did not get any soreness after the first use- esthetics are nice. [ I was somewhat skeptical of the color at first, but this shoe has definitely set a new standard for me! They feel great on my feet. They support your feet snugly while remaining ultra comfortable! The textured laces keep the shoes snug. I ’ ve been wearing this shoe for every day activities as well. A great shoe at the gym as well as a day spent walking around the mall. These shoes have kept my feet comfortable during a 9 hour shift at work, and then coming home and chasing two young children around the house.

[ I recently tried the Catamount 4 Tail Shoe. I run mainly on gravel/dirt roads and paths so a trail shoe is a must! These felt a little tight in the uppers for the 1st couple of runs then I fell in love with them and they have been my go to ever since! I usually purchase a size 10 1/2 to an 11 in women ’s and I do prefer a tighter fit. A men ’s 8 1/2 have worked well for me. I have an average width foot and the toe box fit is great. I ’ m 30+ miles in and these have kept me sure footed and the cushion has kept me from any stone bruises! I look forward to many more miles in these! The colors have just been a fun bonus, as the darker teal hasn ’ t gotten dirty looking.

[ I had not worn Brooks running shoes before so this was my introduction. I 've been a runner for over 40 years and ran many races- 5K, 10K, 10 Miler, 1/2, and Full Marathons. Now I 'm out there to only compete with myself. These shoes felt really good right away! Lots of cushioning( which I like) and support. I do n't choose running shoes based on how they look but these are nice- looking shoes. It took me a run or two to get used to the difference between my other shoes but now they feel so comfortable. My time has improved a bit also. I need a wide- toe box and these were perfect. I have only run in them in cold weather so I 'm not sure about how they function in the heat. I also only ran on paved roads. PROS: Good support, Plenty of room in the toe box, Plenty of cushioning, lighter than expected, Very comfortable CONS: The tongue is flimsy so you have to hold onto it to put the shoe on. That would not be a deal- breaker for me though.

[ After running several miles I can say these are amongst my favorite shoes for trail running. The soles are thick with good cushion with each step. The laces secure tight to my foot with zero sliding around. I have one other pair I currently run in and plan on using these in my rotation going forward. I ’ m also a huge fan of the aesthetic, in fact they ’ re probably my favorite running shoe in terms of appearance and colorway. If I was to purchase another pair, however, I would order a half size up as the toe box is slightly more narrow and my big toe rubs slightly. One major thing to know is there is not a lot of arch support which would make them less ideal if you have a flatter foot. The shoes work well for me and I ’ d happily purchase them again when it ’s time for a new pair.

[ I typically wear a size 10 or 10. 5 depending on the brand. The size 10 Catamount 4, fit snuggly and kept my heel locked in place, while still allowing for plenty of wiggle room in the toes. Took these out of the box and went on a quick 8 mile run the first day( paved road) and another 7 miles the following day( paved& some loose gravel). The shoes feel lighter on my feet than I expected, very responsive, and provide a ton of cushioning for the heel. The fabric is lightweight& breathable, which kept my feet from overheating towards the end of runs. It ’s been very dry and warm lately; so, I wasn ’ t able to test how they hold up in inclement weather. The traction is great on loose gravel and paved roads alike. I ’ m a big fan of the color scheme though I know bright colors aren ’ t for everyone. My only complaint is the tongue feels a bit thin and has a tendency to get bunched up when you are putting on the shoes. This isn ’ t a sticking point in the slightest because if you hold onto the tongue while sliding feet into shoes, it ’s no longer a problem. Overall I ’ m extremely satisfied with these shoes and quickly becoming my new go- to.

The fabric is sturdy yet breathable and while I do wish they were available in more color options the current design is quite sleek. I was shocked when I first put them on by how light they felt on my feet. They are true to size and like most Brooks are super comfy. I love that they are waterproof so I can feel comfortable wearing them out in the rain and I love the look and design.
