I used this track to mount my fish finder and transducer mount in my kayak. It was narrow enough to mount to the top side of my kayak. However, you need access inside the kayak to attach the hardware. I ended up having to also purchase the YakAttack Fullback Backing Plate to ease the installation, which also provided more support for the attach mounts. The added cost of buying the backing plate made this a more expensive purchase.

Setting up a kayak to fish can be challenging. Small spaces, things need to be multi functional. Yak Attack gear is on the cutting edge of what is available for your Yak. It however will take a few outting to dial in your rig. Theses rod holder hold all types of rod reel combos, I use them for fly rods. There is a lot of room within the holder, it would be nice if things were tighter, but rods are are not falling off the Yak even if the boat is flipped over. The Yak tracks Are the best in the business. and their anchor setup is the only way to go. Dicks needs to carry the full line of products in all stores.

Purchased in May 2021, I upgraded from a paddle kayak when I found my AP120. I love to fly fish and this kayak allows me to slowly troll while standing and tossing flies around. Also the ability to lock into one spot and fish without an anchor is a game changer. The peddle kayaks are nice but not an option for me because I really enjoy standing while fishing most of the time with the option to sit when desired. Kayak is very stable and I feel completely balanced while standing. I use the lead acid battery for the motor and I 'm able to fish two full days on the water sun up to sundown without having to recharge the battery. I 've taken it out approximately 25 times in 5 months now and absolutely love it! Remote is very user friendly and if you hook into a big one you can quickly turn the motor off easily with a push of a button while standing if the fish makes a run directly under your Yak. The only downside is the kayak is heavy especially with a lead acid battery, but a good kayak cart takes care of that. highly recommend.

I have been fishing from the AutoPilot 120 for about 6 months in a variety of conditions and I am extremely pleased with capabilities of the is kayak. I have always been a bit skeptical of `` motor powered '' kayaks but the technological features of the AutoPilot intrigued me. As someone who does a lot of trolling the ability to maintain a constant troll speed in the face of wind and current is absolutely amazing. I frequently use the heading feature to `` set it and forget it '' and am able to have everything prepped by the time I get to the fishing grounds or get back to the launch. The real magic of this kayak is built into the motor which I power with a lithium 100ah battery. I 've never come close to draining the battery even with 10+ hrs on the water. Deploying and stowing the motor is easy. The deck and storage space is more than ample. The chair is very comfortable. If I had to be nit- picky my biggest complaints would be that the gear track is too far forward forcing me to use extensions on my rod holders to make them reachable when trolling and limited access to the inside of the hull.

I got a few of these for my paddles. I am redoing my gear room, hanging kayaks on wall. I got these holders to not mount on kayaks, as who wants to put holes in boats? I got them to screw into the rafters to clip my sets of paddles to the ceiling. The end tips close a tad behind the paddle, keeping it secure and can hang upside down. Tho I am still in process of redoing room, I have not hung up paddles yet, but IT WILL without a doubt work. [ I got this so that I would have an easier time loading and unloading my kayak onto my car by myself. It's definitely much easier than the J hook style of rack. It feels very sturdy and I 've never had any trouble with anything shifting during long drives. The front pads tend to flip backwards during loading the kayak sometimes, which makes you have to do a little maneuvering with the boat to get them to flip back the right way. Otherwise, its great!

For a while now, I 've had one DockGrip and one( competitor) J cradle to transport two boats. I 've always preferred the DockGrip, and finally ponied up for a second. This transports a somewhat heavy boat, but it's always felt secure, loaded easily, and been a breeze to take off and put on each season. I 've never worried about the boat on the DockGrip like I have the one on the J. Additionally, Thule includes a pretty high quality and comprehensive tie down kit. I 'd not only recommend this to a friend, I recommended it to myself... and bought a second.

We own a 2016 two door Jeep Wrangler Sport and was looking for a way to carry two Kayaks on top. A Thule representative was very helpful. My setup is the Thule Rapid Gutter Foot Pack, Thule WingBar Evo 150 and Thule Compass carrier. I also purchased four `` hood loops '', under the hood and rear door, to secure the kayak stern and bow with additional straps. We drove 125 miles to a local river and it handled great. Coming home we towed the Jeep with kayaks behind our Winnebago motorhome and again absolutely no issues. So far we love these products! I Bought these racks for a 10 Hour trip to North Carolina. these things are absolutely rock steady. The steel Straps that attach to your cross bars do n't slip a millimeter during transit. also the strap guide on the top bar of these racks are great so you can set the strap and fold it up without having to climb up on the car to do so. I bought this set for my 2020 outback and a 10ft kayak. Install was ok, fitment to my crossbars was fine. I wish there was a better way to install the nuts heads and that such nuts are difficult to install without a second pair of hands. All in all, I would n't trust keeping the cradle on the car for extended period of time since the nuts do not have `` anti- back- out '' protection. But for what I will use it for, it is fine.

We put it on the car in the Dick's parking lot since we also purchased the kayak from Dick's and needed to get it home( obviously). It easily installed on our Subaru roof rack. I like having the ability to fold down the cradle so we can keep it on even when not transporting the kayak. We 'll take it off during the winter, but no reason to remove it at the moment!

Works Great for fitting multiple boats on a rack. If you are going to put one boat on each side I would recommend buying a set of the 15 ft. load straps. If you are putting this on an Xsporter remember to use the Xadapt 3 adapter kit. There is a link to it in the technical specifcations area on this page. Not sure why Jay from a previous review could n't stumble on that. Great Product, use mine all the time and recommend to all my friends.

When I got kayaks I was trying to avoid racks like the J style Hull a Port. I 've had issues with boats shifting, and am not a fan of the design. The Stacker is a simple design that uses the crossbars to help keep the boat in place. Never had an issue with shifting, even on 8 hour drives with two boats. It's also the cheapest Thule option for more than one boat. Very happy with my decision. Just make sure you put the straps on BEFORE you put the boat on.

My partner and I recently bought two kayaks from Dick ’s and needed to transport them over 100 miles through several mountain passes on a windy day. On a whim, we bought this kit and we are so glad we did. In the parking lot of the Dick ’s, we were able to install the kit on the crossbars of her Subaru Outback within 30 minutes and did not need a single tool for assembly! The instructions that came with the kit were clear and taught us how to safely secure our kayaks to the car. After tightening the straps, the kayaks didn ’ t budge for the entire trek home. I love this rack! Easy to load and unload your kayak from and easy to strap it down. It's very solid and my kayak does n't move when traveling at 65 mph. No bow or stern tie straps are even necessary when going short distances at 55- 60 mph. My kayak lies flat and does n't allow the wind to push my vehicle while traveling. Compared to other kayak carriers it is also very affordable. I would definitely recommend this rack.

Was easy to install. Be sure to read the instructions. There are adjustment screws you need to use for a snug fit. Loaded easily before my paddle. After a few hours of paddling, I did not have the strength to get the kayak back on. I am a big, strong guy. My kayak is only 68 pounds. Thought I could do it. Fortunately, someone came along and pushed it right up for me. I an going to try it again with the bow rope looped up around the carrier bar. Otherwise, I will only be taking it where I know I can get some help loading.

It installed nicely on my 2010 Chevy Equinox and with the help of the Thule slide, I am able to lift and load without any help. It was a nice snug transport of 10 miles driving 55mph. I am a 44 year old, 5' 3 '' female. In purchasing this item, I researched the ability to load by myself, cost of the product and being able to attach the saddle to a factory installed roof rack. I bought the malone saddle pro and I love it. My problem before was I was unable to lift a kayak by myself for it to sit sideways on the roof of my SUV. Easy installment, adjusts to the shape of my kayak. I should of bought this setup last year. Would suggest this product to anyone.

The Malone Saddleup Pro is a lot better as far as quality goes. It is VERY easy to assemble and only takes a few minutes. It is also very ridgid and strong. This kayak saddle has made my life easier. Unfortunately, I could n't use this system because unlike the picture, the rear piece does not extend over the back of my vehicle because I have to locate the cross rails more forward. Also, my kayak is too heavy for me to lift onto the piece and I had to figure out a difference way to get it on top of my SUV. This rack holds my kayak firmly in place everywhere I go. It took me a few minutes( and tries) to get it put together, but once you figure it out its easy. Very sturdy and I like the fold down feature so I can leave it on my car. No whistling or vibration at all when empty. Wish it were slightly less expensive. My$ 250 kayak is starting to cost me a fortune in accessories.

As a canoeist/kayaker for 47 years, I 've tied/racked/trucked a lot of boats. I can recommend the quality of the Malone racks... sturdy frames, reliable attachment system to the car/van, good padding to avoid damage to the boats, good sturdy straps for securing the racks& boats. For two years now I have been using 2 sets of these Malone J- Racks which can stay attached to the vehicle but can be folded down when not in active use. I 've transported boats hundreds of miles to upstate NY and New England at highway speeds without a problem with them. Getting the racks folded or locked upright back into place for use is very easy and can make setting the straps before racking the boat a tad easier than a stationary rack. I also like the idea of calling less attention to the fact I have the racks on the SUV when I do n't have a boat loaded and have the racks folded... also cuts down on wind resistence and noise. For a few dollars more than the stationary racks, you should shop around for a deal on this type of Malone fold- down racks.
