Definitely my go to lure. If you just wan na catch a fish tie one of these on. Its small but VERY loud for a tiny lipless crankbait. Can cast really good even with a bait caster and is fairly aerodynamic, lands straight and belly down `` 99% '' of the time. I use this for both salt and fresh water. Ive caught panfish of many sizes along with bass, chain pickerel, crappie, white+ yellow perch, red drum, baby striper barely longer than the bait to 20+ inchers. Its just a fish catcher! The KVD 200 dives between 4- 7 feet on a braid to 10 lb, 12 foot fluorocarbon leader depending on how far you cast and how long you crank it down. I 'm able to cast it like a bullet on both a spinning and baitcasting rod because of the weight transfer system and shape of the bait. It has a wide, erratic darting action that works well to trigger a strike. The bait does suspend on the pause in water temps between 62 F and 72 F that I 've used it. I was very impressed with the realism of the natural bream color I ordered and it seemed to fool the bass too. Sharp hooks, but not sticky sharp. Overall a good jerkbait to keep in my rotation that does n't break the bank.

Without a doubt one of the most `` proven '' lures in my arsenal! I throw the Original Rat- L- Trap almost ever time I go out and no matter the conditions or location, you can usually find a color and presentation that works.
