So far so good! Clearly digging the necessary 16x16x36 hole isn ’ t the most enjoyable thing to do on a Friday afternoon. After waiting our time, the installation of the rest was simple. We put together the post and put it up( me and 15 yo) and borrowed a truck to install the backboard. SO MUCH EASIER! I ’ d suggest renting the Lowe ’s truck for$ 20 if you don ’ t have access to one readily. We cranked the arms all the way down so there wasn ’ t any lifting just holding the backboard at waist height to get the last bolts through. Kids love it, ended up buying the post light attachment within a few weeks so will review that soon after installation and some use!

We 've been using this goal for around a month, and it is top- notch compared to the portable hoop with the polycarbonate backboard. We installed it ourselves, and it's not hard at all. If you 're able to dig a hole and mix concrete, that's the hardest part( labor). I recommend using the Sakrete Maximizer Concrete Mix from Lowes. It goes farther, mixes easer and is a higher strength concrete. We dug a hole 36 '' deep and 24 '' square, and it took 9 bags. Build your own concrete form out of 2X4s, and make sure the form is level on the ground before you pour. When putting the goal together, the instructions are clear, and the hardware is packaged so it's easy to find. You 'll need at least 2 people to stand the pole up, and if you can get 3 to hang the backboard, your day will be easier. We backed a truck up close to the pole and stood on the bed instead of using ladders, which made hanging the backboard way easier. The hoop is sturdy with minimal wobble between shots. The rim is unforgiving, which I like, as I feel it will make the kids better shooters. The backboard is tempered glass, so it reacts the same as backboards in the gyms. These usually go on sale for almost half price around Christmas, so if you can wait until that time you will save money.

Bought this as a Christmas present for my son. Dicks employees loaded it into my truck and I hid it in garage until Christmas — I had my older son help me bring the backboard in on Christmas Eve night and left the other boxes in garage. I just now got around to installing it because we live in Michigan and ground is just now thawed and dry enough to pour concrete. Instructions were great and there are really good videos on YouTube. I actually assembled the pole myself on sawhorses and had my older son and a friend help install the pole onto the bracket that was placed in cement the week prior. The next day I had two friends join me to hoist the 60 inch backboard to pole from the back of my pickup truck. Everything went smoothly and me and the boys were draining shots the rest of the day. Have gotten many compliments from neighbors on the look. I love the durability, look, and sturdiness. 5/5 stars. Took 13 bags of 80 pound qwikcrete but I did a bit larger cement cap. See pics!

Make sure you buy your own mounting lags or bolts( they are n't included). I bought eight 5/8 x 5 '' wood lags with washers and the hoop feels like Shaq could n't even tear it down.

Escalade ’s order process time is excessively long. It took 7- 8 days before the hoop was shipped. Now, the hoop itself is great. All the bolts and nuts were shrink wrapped onto a cardboard sheet which made finding the right hardware super easy. This was probably the easiest item I ’ ve ever assemble simply due to the way the hardware is packaged. The backboard is a little less rigid than I had hoped for but as long as bank shots hit close the white rectangle on the backboard it works well. All in all I highly recommend this hoop.

We purchased the Slam- It Pro to replace our broken rim and so far we love it. Parts: came with everything we needed. I do recommend reviewing the installation prior to taking down the old one. We were required to use a spacer from the old one so I could see that being something someone would toss. Installation: was a bit tough because you do not have a lot of space to work with. We installed it with the backboard upright so that could have been part of the reason we took a while to get the bolts secured. Use: once installed we have used it and it is sturdy. cant complain about it. All that is left to see is how well it takes on daily use.
