I 've been very happy with the action, durability and color options of the Rapala Cleanup Craw. I 've used it as a jig trailer and Texas rigged it on an EWG hook with success. The claws do n't tear off on short strikes which is a huge plus. The forward facing appendages on the side of the craw flutter when retrieved. I 've caught several good fish using this combo with the largest being a 21 '' reservoir striper and have never had a problem with the hook. To be clear, I fish exclusively freshwater. I will jig( sharp- n- short twitch- like hook sets repeated on a fairly loose drag setting on my reel- to prevent snags) this minnow with a tiny 1/32oz jighead on the 2 ” model- so it fall through the water slowly. When I do this, the lure is worth every penny. I bought this product over six months ago and I am only on my second minnow! This lure and technique is incredibly effective! Get it and start twitching it off the bottom of you body of water. It ALSO works in muddy water. Which blew my mind. I am so happy with this lure! I do think the stock jighead is too heavy, so just swap it for 1/32 or 1/24. Only go 1/16 for letting the current drift the lure.

I used to use pork rind but due to unavailability I have switched to these otter tails. Very nice action and it doesn ’ t need to be put back in the jar of liquid to prevent drying out like the old pork rind. Only time will tell if the catch as good!

I bump jigheads with shrimp tails off of bridges for snook. An elite jig that is easy to keep in touch with while letting it perform. With a loop knot and right jig tail this lure is unstoppable. If you bump it right the any fish present who see it have the option of eating t the “ peanut ” or moving out of the way. We all know that snook don ’ t want to move out of the way and it ’s no surprise that they eat the peanut.
