I 'd been working on a massive landscape project with constant daily hand digging for months in quite rocky soil. With fall rainy weather making the soil heavier, I started waking up in the middle of night, with fingers going numb, randomly alternating on my hands. This was accompanied with throbbing pain shooting in waves downward from the biceps to lower arm areas, stopping just above the wrists. The wrists themselves did not hurt. This was so painful I could not sleep in bed and had to go downstairs and try to find relief by sitting upright on couch, and hopefully sleep a little. No symptoms were present during the day while awake. I was worried that I possibly had developed a heart or ciriculatory problem and resesearched the internet. I learned that this condition could be caused from carpal tunnel developing at the wrists. So I purchased these braces and tried wearing them both while digging and also at night while sleeping. The awesome news is that the braces completely stopped the painful carpal tunnel condition the first day I tried them! And I was able to continue the project without a break! The braces are a great design and well worth the cost over many other options available. They are comfortable and do not snag on tools or bars. The stitching and materials do not abraid or otherwise hurt my skin. With 3 straps and 4 removeable stays per brace, I can custom balance hand tension zones and overall stiffness for each activity. The straps can be immediately repositioned and balanced on the fly as needed. However, even with shoveling for hours, the straps stay put and do not reposition themselves. The braces breathe extremely well and do n't get soggy, even when digging for hours. They also resist developing odors. With the braces starting mid hand and coverable by gloves, they do n't get muddy while digging. The palm and other materials are well selected to be strong and durable, with stiffness or stretchability where you need it. Neoprene is used to keep inside wrist warm and compression supported or straps forgiving, but not in areas where stiffness is needed or heat not wanted. Use suggestions: I use all 4 stays per glove to stiffen the brace for digging and use 1 or no stays for sleeping. To stop velcro straps from snagging on blankets or thermosheets and opening while sleeping, I place an extra piece of hook type velcro( not included) over the three strap ends. This is possible because the hand brace plate and upper and lower straps are backed with fuzzy type velcro.

I use this brace for my sprained wrist when i play softball or do any sort of lifting. I love that i can still put my glove on and i can still swing a bat. also, my Sprain was from hyperextension, which most other braces do n't offer protection for. This brace is perfect for me. I 'm so glad i purchased it.

As a dual- sport adventure rider( in my late 50's), wrist support is essential... especially when riding off- road! Tight switchbacks, babyheads( rocks, not actual baby heads) and river crossings are be brutal on my wrists. The Shock Doctor Wrist 3- Strap keeps my wrists from hyper- extending. Before using the Shock Doctor Wrist 3- Strap, the tendons in my wrists would become inflamed, and painful during normal wrist movement. I highly recommend the Shock Doctor Wrist 3- Strap for anyone needing controlled wrist support!
