Sometimes these Winterized/Repel long- sleeve running tops run a size too big, like they ’ re weren ’ t sure if they intended them to be worn as a first or second layer. I ’ m between Men ’s S/M. Small in the DFADV Stride tops because they ’ re huge. This one fits like a first layer, but has juuuuuust enough space if you wanted to wear a single layer under it. Only gripe is that the collar sits a little wonky, unless you have it zipped all the way up.

I find that the sizing is true, and the small works well for me. The shirt handles being laundered very well, without shrinking or pilling. It has retained it's shape. I wash in cool water, and I use fabric softener in addition to laundry soap. The Carhartt heavyweight poly wool shirt is extremely effective in keeping me warm, and blocking the harsh Iowa wind. I tend to stay cold, so this is saying a lot. I love the shirt, because it is fitted. It works well under clothing, without bunching up. I appreciate the `` thumb holes '' on the sleeves, since this prevented the sleeves from riding up while I put on my sweatshirt. Great quality, superior warmth, and comfort.

I LOVE the Calia Women ’s Cold Dash 1/4 Zip. I got the black in the medium size. I normally wear a small but the description said it is fitted, which it is, and I didn ’ t want a tight fit. This fits me exactly the way I want it too. It is nicely tailored but not skin tight. I am 5 ’ 6 ” and about 128 pounds. Previously, my favorite athletic 1/4 zip jacket was a black one with a back pocket that holds my phone. I had looked everywhere, unsuccessfully, for another until now. This jacket has a very nicely placed pocket in the back that holds my phone very comfortably during my daily morning 2 to 3 mile walks. The jacket also has reflecting lines on the back that serve their purpose when needed but still look fashionable at all times. One more thing worth mentioning is the nice long sleeves with the thumb hole…. perfect for cooler mornings when I may choose to use them. The sleeves are plenty long for my long arms. 4. 0 is the best base layer for the price. My kids are competitive skiers in the Northeast. Our winters are harsh and with windchill the temperatures can drop below zero. Using these 4. 0 as base layers helps to keep their heat from escaping. They hold up well through washing and the boys playing/lounging in them after skiing too. But I did have to size up to an extra large which I have to do with all Carhartt space layers for their shirts. But I like the fit and I like the materials. I wear them at work and it's a lot better to sweat in these than it is a cotton shirt. I believe these are the newer models also as they do n't have the sewn on Carhartt tag. [ For reference, I purchased a Medium. I ’ m 5 ’ 4 ”, 128 pounds, pear shaped, so, smaller on top, curvier on bottom. I got the black which is opaque. I wear this baselayer weight for cross country skiing when it ’s above 30 degrees or so. Smartwool varies in size for me, these are not extremely fitted like some of the 1/4 zips so go with your normal size.

I have been hiking, backpacking, and traveling with them and they have withstood the test of time. They are comfortable alone or as under layer. Like the feel of this LS tee. Can use it as a base layer or by itself on cooler days. I personally used it for an outdoor run and felt great. One thing though… while the fabric is intended to wick sweat out, I did notice the tee being soaked so not sure I ’ ll be taking it out for runs again. The length of the tee is also a little short so consider that if interested in this shirt.

[ This base layer longsleeve uses a high quality mesh fabric that is both comfortable and breathable. Because the material is very thick and the neck collar is higher than the average normal tee, I can wear it either as a base layer or even on its own. It has kept me warm during all my gym workouts, and I do notice my sweat drying quickly off from the shirt. A 3M- reflective Nike Tech branding is shown across the chest, which gives the shirt a nicely added premium touch. I ca n't tell if the flat panels along the back of the shirt provides any sort of performance, but I do like that the design reminds me of a padded workout shirt. The fit is intended to be tight with some stretch, and while I went with my true to size, there is still some room to give more of a slim fit look. This baselayer is far from your basic undershirt, so feel free to wear it proudly on its own.

I got this primarily for motorcycling in colder weather. It works great. I can wear this with my jacket and jacket liner and I do n't have to wear other layers. I 've only used it so far riding in 50 degree weather but it was warm enough I had to turn it down or off. I usually wear a large but wanted it to fit tighter so I got a medium. The medium fits great. I would say the medium fits me perfect where normally I would wear a large t- shirt or long sleeve. Not too tight but not loose. Have n't had long enough to know how long the battery would last but have used it for a couple hours switching between high and medium and still have battery left. Would definitely use while skiing, etc
