The body the shorts are a very lightweight material-- if I had to dig for a negative, it's that they are SO light and airy and sometimes when I 'm running at the gym, I 'll just do a quick glance over my shoulder to make sure I 'm covered. I always am, but they are that breathable and light. But not see- through or sheer. I did buy black and the dark red and ca n't confirm the see- through qualities of the lighter colors. For size reference, I am 5' 6 '', 138#, a 6 in most pants and I bought a medium. I probably could 've gone with a small, but I do n't like things to cut into my waist. The waistband does n't stretch out with wear, so I think the size is perfect.

The shorts might run a little small. I tend to wear the L pants but got the XL shorts and they work well for me. I like the internal liner, but still wear by boxer briefs with them. I really need to try them without the boxes and see how they work. The pockets are a good size, but anything in them will swing as you run or walk fast. the draw string come in handy to tie the shorts off and hold them up.

These are my favorite high- waisted shorts ever. I have 7 pairs. These are my everyday shorts, gym shorts, walking shorts, house shorts, errand shorts, etc. They fit perfect on my waist and have enough coverage that they are comfortable for exercising. I am usually a medium but sized these up to large so they would cover more and not ride up and show butt cheeks( medium did this to me). I would consider sizing up if you want more coverage.
