I read LOTS of reviews( 1 star review- 5 star reviewers) before purchasing, and I am pleasantly surprised with the fit of the jacket. SEVERAL reviewers stated the jacket runs large, one or two stated it runs `` true to size '', so, what is the `` real deal ''? I believe it runs pretty true to its stated size. The large is a little large on me, and the sleeves are a bit long. I have long arms( wear shirt size 16 X 34- 35 '') and the large jacket sleeves are a bit too long. So, it is NOT a `` tailored fit look '', but I personally prefer the jacket to be a bit larger to enable me to wear a sweater of hoodie underneath. The Medium size may have been a better fit; not sure; but I also wanted the grey jacket( which is almost black in color) and it has a somewhat sculptured fit in the way it was designed. I am MOST pleased. PAY HEED: Do NOT attempt to put anything in what `` appears to be '' inside pockets, as these are NOT inside pockets, they are the inside lining for the two outside access pockets. Several people `` assume '' them to be pockets only to have had their cell phones drop to the floor.

However I am often required to work outside when it is heavily misting, snowing and sleeting. I have a number of shirts and jackets with a sherpa lining. This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. [ I tried this jacket on in a store and decided to order online( they were pricey). I ordered a size larger, as I want the ability to layer with sweaters underneath. To my surprize, I saw online that there was a great deal and a two- tone black/off- white jacket available. I am over the moon with my raincoat! It is top quality and I especially like all the elevated details that make this jacket perfect for rainy weather. The length is perfect also—not too short or too long. Best of all, it packs into its own pocket and travels like a pro!

The Women's Montana Puffer Jacket is absolutely the warmest coat I 've ever had. I work outside all day in Western NC and in the winter time I was always so cold no matter how much I bundled up. But not any more. This coat keeps me so warm but it's surprisingly light so I do n't feel like I 'm wearing a straight- jacket. I wish I would have gotten this coat years ago.

Incredibly warm! I wore this in New York in February- encountering rain, snow, and below freezing weather and this coat kept me warm and dry the entire time. It is machine washable and easy to take care of, and the many pockets are a great plus!

I finally found a jacket to keep me warm in NH. with heat rating of 4, I can walk my dog at 6 am and feel comfortable. I put the hood up over my beanie hat and I am still amazed at the warmth. I want to get the longer Montana coat as well. LOVE IT SO MUCH.

This jacket fit real nicely. I love the north face merch! the color red is beautiful. Materials is great and feels very light! The only thing about this order that kinda made me concerned a bit was that the jacket was delivered with only a think plastic bag and no clear plastic covering the jacket like I usually get things delivered. And the bag had a hole in it! I was praying that the jacket wasn ’ t damaged which it wasnt! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
