They feature two side pockets which work well for keys or a wallet when using casually, but I wouldn ’ t using them for anything valuable while running. There is a zip close back pocket that is large enough for your phone but not too big to where it will bounce around. I have worn these with leggings underneath and on their own and had no issues with chafing or hot spots. The drawcord allows a custom fit and stays tied even during my longest runs( 10+ miles). Of course, I appreciate that they have reflective elements for low light situations like dawn or dusk. I couldn ’ t recommend these shorts more!

[ So far, really impressed with Nike ACG! Their line has some very well- designed and functional pieces for all kinds of outdoorsy activities. I ordered these for my brother. Some initial impressions:- They really weren ’ t kidding about the pockets! So many of them( hidden, zipped, small, large, front, back, you name it!). I ’ m not share how secure some pockets are, but in general, very convenient.- The material is very lightweight but sturdy. There ’s a mesh inner layer underneath as well, which looks very breathable and comfy.- The shorts are super adjustable! I accidentally got a large for my brother, but we were able to make it work because of the elastic waist and drawstrings.- The shirts have some loops meant for hiking poles( so cool?!). I bet you could also add a carabiner or something.- I really liked the neutral color scheme. The top of the shorts is gray and has an interesting plaid print.- They are a little pricier than what I ’ m used to, but given the unique features, I think this might be worth it for an avid hiker or if they ’ re on sale. It ’s too chilly to wear these out now, but I ’ m sure they ’ ll be perfect for indoor use or for hikes in warmer weather!

One thing I would change about these shorts would be the fitting of the shorts once I first put them on. The shorts are comfortable but for someone with thicker thighs, the internal lining could cut into the thigh. I would get a size bigger just for my thighs.

It indicated the pockets failed when the reviewer put his phone in the pocket. No such issue on my part and that includes the protective case that covers my phone. It was snug and has no movement in the shorts while I run which means I can run comfortably without strapping the phone to my arm or leave it behind.

Ran my second marathon in these. Perfect. Did n't even know they were there—except when I needed to grab my gels from the side pockets. Tested out with a 17 mile long run before the race. Both times no issues with chaffing. Might be a little warm on a hot day, but perfect for mid 50s- 60s. One side pocket seem popped the first time I took them off, but that was fixed up with a little extra stitching from the sewing machine.

These are the training shorts I 've always wanted. I generally hate shorts with liners because the elastic in the leg holes is irritating and annoying. I usually opt for linerless shorts and athletic boxer briefs. These are everything in one. The benefit of these shorts is that the outer shorts are attached to the inner liner. The pockets on these shorts stays put. I have another pair of Nike running shorts and the pocket liner pokes out the bottom when I put my phone in there. So annoying. The only thing I 'd change is the advertised phone pocket in the back is much too small for my iPhone Max. Otherwise these are perfect.

I bought a pair of these when they first came out a couple of years ago and always saved them for my `` dress '' shorts. I always looked forward to wearing them as they are the most comfortable shorts I have ever owned. I finally decided to replace my lined Breeze shorts with the active breeze shorts because they are just so much more comfortable than the Breeze short. The extra comfort comes from the difference in the waste band. The old Breeze short had a typical stretch liner but the new active breeze short has more of smooth band where you do n't feel the waist band against the skin, you dont actually know you are wearing them.
