These are the training shorts I 've always wanted. I generally hate shorts with liners because the elastic in the leg holes is irritating and annoying. I usually opt for linerless shorts and athletic boxer briefs. These are everything in one. The benefit of these shorts is that the outer shorts are attached to the inner liner. Shorts are very comfortable. I wear them when I run, and thus far they have held up nicely for several 4- 6 mile runs. As the weather warms I will definitely try them on longer outings. They do not ride up and the interior lining has not created hot spots. The pocket size if extremely convenient for carrying needed items on the run. They compare extremely well with the name brand shorts I have come to rely on for running, and I will definitely look for more of these VRST 7 '' shorts. The shorts do run a little larger than the other big name brands I have purchased. Consider purchasing one size smaller.

[ So far, really impressed with Nike ACG! Their line has some very well- designed and functional pieces for all kinds of outdoorsy activities. I ordered these for my brother. Some initial impressions:- They really weren ’ t kidding about the pockets! So many of them( hidden, zipped, small, large, front, back, you name it!). I ’ m not share how secure some pockets are, but in general, very convenient.- The material is very lightweight but sturdy. There ’s a mesh inner layer underneath as well, which looks very breathable and comfy.- The shorts are super adjustable! I accidentally got a large for my brother, but we were able to make it work because of the elastic waist and drawstrings.- The shirts have some loops meant for hiking poles( so cool?!). I bet you could also add a carabiner or something.- I really liked the neutral color scheme. The top of the shorts is gray and has an interesting plaid print.- They are a little pricier than what I ’ m used to, but given the unique features, I think this might be worth it for an avid hiker or if they ’ re on sale. It ’s too chilly to wear these out now, but I ’ m sure they ’ ll be perfect for indoor use or for hikes in warmer weather!

One thing I would change about these shorts would be the fitting of the shorts once I first put them on. The shorts are comfortable but for someone with thicker thighs, the internal lining could cut into the thigh. I would get a size bigger just for my thighs.

It indicated the pockets failed when the reviewer put his phone in the pocket. No such issue on my part and that includes the protective case that covers my phone. They are more of a “ hug ” fit than other running shorts, but they didn ’ t move up my leg. I have worn all three pairs now on runs and errands. I ’ m a PT and avid runner. Been working out for 25 years and running for 17. My holy grail shoes/ clothing and items which ultimately can work well for both gym and running. These shorts have to be my favourite item in years as a result. For running the cut, liner, length and pockets are fantastic. Comfortable with great storage. For the gym they are equally good and the zip front pockets are ideal in for phone/ locker key etc. style wise love them too- not too tight or loose and a great length. I purchased 3 pairs and frequently use the black ones when PTing clients too. Previously used Patagonia strider pro shorts but these have taken the crown for me. Some reviews complain about the weight? Never heard such an unnecessary criticism in my life. These shorts have 7 pockets, 3 of which are zipped. They are a classic pair of featherweight marathon shorts. They are utility trail shorts. I ’ ll look out for more colours for sure!

[ These shorts are now a permanent fixture in my training wardrobe because they are light and moisture wicking without riding up. The lining doesnt bunch or stick to the shorts themselves and while the pockets are small, the back pocket is a nice addition. Small pockets mean less bouncing and hitting my legs so overall that ’s a plus.
