Bought these for a trip to Canada, they were great, stylish and comfortable. Bulkier than other boots but is part of the style. Would definitely recommend. Probably size up half a number if you are going to use heavier socks.

If you 're need is to do delicate footwork in steep or awkward terrain these are not the boots for you. But, if you 're spending a lot of time working outside in Wyoming in winter in snow, on ice, and in the very special kind of mud we have up here, they are stellar. I had a little break in period to soften up the ankles a little. They are warm, without heavy socks, even in sub- zero° F temps, comfy, 100% waterproof, and easy to clean. These are seriously burly well made boots.

Sizing winter boots has been quite challenging. I wear a 10. 5 medium width athletic shoe/ 44. 5 cycling shoe. I tried many brands and sizes including LL Bean, KEEN, Columbia, Muck, and a few more. Boots like this can feel stiff so I prefer thicker wool socks for added cushion and insulation. An 11. 5 was snug but not too tight( like the 11) and gave me enough wiggle room in the toe box. When I finally got outdoors with them, I found them warm and comfortable walking around for more than two hours through slush and snow on trails and streets. They are quick to slip on and lace up, quick to unlace and slip off. I am very satisfied with them.

I found these while searching for a pair of long lasting waterproof snow proof winter boots. I have to say I ’ m very picky about boots, so when I got these, I was a little disappointed to see they didn ’ t have a side zipper, but that ’s my fault for not reading thoroughly. The description says leather and suede upper, but that ’s only the stripe, the actual majority of the boot is a soft canvas, which isn ’ t what I was looking for. I wasn ’ t a huge fan of the shape of them, as they seem to accentuate the widest point of my calf, but overall they ’ re very nice and they fit well when I tried them on. They are thick inside so they might feel tight with a thick sock, but they were immediately super warm so a thick sock doesn ’ t seem really necessary. I haven ’ t worn them in snow or water, so I can ’ t speak to that. I most likely will exchange these for a pair of Merrell tall lace Polar boots that I had wanted but were out of stock.

[ Solid construction and quality are the reasons I bought this bag and it did not disappoint. There's also small pouch inside for keys, wallet, phone, etc., which is a nice addition and I like the backpack straps to carry it. One minor negative is that it's really too big for most mid- size snowshoes, but I guess it 'd be nice if you want to stuff it with extra gear.

There's a zippered bag in the top to carry pole accessories( i. e. extra tips, mud baskets, snow baskets) that seems to have a few people stumped as to its actual purpose... now they know. And this bag is tough! I even have enough room to put my jacket in, with all that other gear. The large bag is just enormous! So, be sure to pack an extra pair of socks and some shoe repair, in the event you have a blowout on the trail. There's definitely room for it!
