I 've tried several sun shirts of different brands and majority feel clammy and make me feel hot in the sun. Not this shirt! The material is thin, breathable and very soft on your skin. I actually prefer the quarter zip version over the MH hoody due to the bottom hem design( hoody has a draw string at the bottom which I do n't care for). This shirt also has better neck protection for me since I always wear a wide brim hat when I hike and I would n't use the hood. And I really appreciate having quarter zip to allow more air through. I 'd love to have more solid color options.

I have the Abisko wool shirt in the long and short sleeve models. When I had a bad fall in Argentina and broke my arm, I had on the long sleeve version. The arm was badly damaged, but the shirt still looks great. I look forward to wearing it when I get my arm out of the cast. Now I can wear only the ones with short sleeves and REALLY wish they came in other colors.

I have 2- I black that I 've put through the dryer, the other I 've hung dry. The one going through the dryer has got the pills( like others have mentioned). For me, they 've been indestructible. Reviewing this from the POV of an end user& tech fabric geek. Love the materials of the MH AirMesh. Already have the hoody; just bought the crew. Agree w/ those who say it's very warm when at standstill or w/ a wind layer over top, yet while moving or with wind and no wind layer it's like being naked. To me that says the fabric is functioning precisely how a base layer shoulder. Only con is hypothetical: delicate fabric. I 've had no issues with snags, pilling, abrasion, etc. But I would n't be surprised were I to, given the softness of the fibers and the openness of the fabric they 're arranged into. Cut/fit are unremarkable w/ exception of the somewhat high neck hole and the different accent fabric used there. Packs tiny, resilient fibers bounce back into shape immediately. Most comparable to the Patagonia Cap Air wool base layer, minus the itchiness/roughness and the ultra premium price point. Also, like Polartec Power Stretch pro, but much lighter and more airy fabric, fwiw.

Love this shirt. Wear it all the time and have already ordered another one- so comfortable. If they eventually make a short sleeved version I 'll buy that, too. It's a great base layer and good for cool/cold weather chillin'. Be aware that there is zero wind blocking- it's a mesh fabric- you must have a shell if you 're hiking/skiing/walking to mailbox. That said- I 've hiked in 15- 20F with wind and just this base and a heavy shell no problem. Note: It's very `` roomy ''. Great for me, but if you 're a bean pole you may be swimming in it- think about that when selecting sizes.

Lightest shirt I own, especially for it being a long sleeve. It ’s lighter than my t- shirts. Its lightness is kind of weird at first actually. On its own it almost feels like you ’ re not wearing anything at all. Just a feeling of soft fuzziness on your skin. It ’s sensational. The warmth factor I ’ m not so sure of. Yes, it is warm. But when I layer it underneath, for example, the MicroChill fleece jacket, overall I ’ m less toasty than if I ’ m wearing the MicroChill on bare skin. But the MicroChill jacket is made of a nice fleece material that is comfortable on the skin on its own. If I wanted a lightweight base layer for, say, the Ghost Shadow Hoody synthetic down jacket, it ’s an excellent pairing.

These little wool tees are a Maudsend in humid( and cooler!) weather, and the perfect mix of casual and `` active wear. '' I throw pottery on a wheel, do a bit of woodworking, and hike, and these transition beautifully from casual wear to need- moisture- wicking work/play clothes and regulate my squirrelly body temperature amazingly well. Really love the neckline on the Tech Lite II( still gives coverage on the pottery wheel, but far more flattering and comfortable a fit than the higher crew necks on the other tees). Length gives great coverage, also- just right without reveal. I am more often a small than a medium, but was a solid medium here- the usual bit of shrink of wool during washing was just enough to make it a perfect fit. The price is higher than cotton tees, obviously, but they are well made, a treat to wear, and seem to last, so I purchase a couple now and then and replenish as needed. Body style is lovely, some shape but still loose enough for comfort and a more flattering `` fit. '' Would really love it if they brought back the dark charcoal color, and some more darker, subtle, maybe even heathered colors( The lighter, like all tees, shows more sweat stains eventually, at least for me, and I 've never cared for pastel/easter egg brights). Holding up well through many wearings and washings, thank you so much!

[ Just reviewed the long sleeve base layer, and like both of these tops. Since it is still winter in Colorado, I have been wearing the short sleeve T- shirt on the 65 degree days we sometimes have. I also like to wear the men's as opposed to the ladies for the looser fit.

[ I love these icebreaker shirts. I own several in different colors, prints, etc. Very breathable and comfortable. No chafing or scratching on my chest. I 've had issues with other Mfg products on this front. With good care I 've found these to last a while( i. e. line dry only).

[ Shirt is mostly as expected, soft and breathable, and odor resistant. I do wish the shirt was a little thicker so it's less see- through( which would hopefully also help with making it more durable)
