Where I live( Washington DC) we do n't get crazy amounts of snow, but we will have the occasional winter storm and get 6- 10 inches or so. I needed a boot to keep my feet warm and dry when I walk my dog, run errands, etc. But I did n't need super heavy duty boot to shovel snow in. I chose this because I liked that the shaft was n't too high, so I could still wear it with most of my pants. We just had a winter storm. The snow was deep enough that it covered my entire boot and yet they kept my feet SUPER warm and I did n't feel slippery when walking on ice. The waterproof material kept my feet dry, and they are also SUPER CUTE! I am a true 7. 5( according to the size chart; my feet are 24 cm), but I still ordered a size 8 based on reviews saying it ran small, and I think I made the right decision. I think if I ordered my exact size I would n't have room to wear thick socks.

The boot liners had a bunch of animal fur stuck in them, and all over the outside soles. Clearly someone had bought this exact pair before, tried them on, possibly used them, and decided to return them for whatever reason. It ’s very obvious that I didn ’ t get a “ new ” product. I sometimes buy previously used items, but only when I know that I ’ m buying used and can inspect the product first, and usually at a discount. I was fully expecting ” new ” here as It wasn ’ t indicated anywhere that I was getting a used or returned product and I didn ’ t get that. So 2 stars to Dick ’s for not being up front on the condition of what they ’ re selling, or checking the condition of the returns they ’ re reselling. I ’ m not disappointed in the product, hence why I ’ m actually leaving 5 stars, just in Dick ’s quality control and product clarity. These boots are pretty Awesome! I have had the caribous- 2 pairs over 30 years!! and they are great for super snowy days but they are a heavy boot. These are nice and lightweight and still warm. I did size up after I ordered my normal 6. 5, TOO small. I was a little worried the 7's would be too big but they are great- I do have a little room in the heel but it is fine. I walk my dog almost everyday at least a mile if not 3 or 4 and these feel great. I should mention I do wear thin socks since I saw another review and she said she sized up because she wears thick socks. I do not own thick socks- they are not my preference. I have flat arches and over pronating hind feet so I was thrilled my orthotics fit in place of the company made insoles. There is arch support in the Tivoli Resort that is comparable to that in Tivoli. The higher platform and deep tread is ideal for the snowy slushy winter terrain. The insulation works perfectly even in below 10 degree weather with windy conditions. The higher top and faux help keep the ankle to calf part of lower leg protected and warm. The boots are great! Handled spring time in Colorado so raining, ice, sleet and then snow all in one day. I mucked horse stalls and had very warm feet while doing that chore.
