First impressions of this rod are good. I bought the 9' combo in the blue camo. The quality is better than I imagined. The rod is sensitive and has good action to the tip. The reel is bigger than I expected and was prespooled with monofilament line. For anyone wondering the 9' combo is medium heavy power with medium action. It is rated for 12- 25 pound line and can cast 3/4 oz to 2 1/2 oz weights.

Had the high school state bass tournament last weekend and needed new baitcasters. I picked up two rods- one each of us( my son is 13). Long story short- the kids fished great and finished one position out from a 4 figure payday, while competing against almost 200 other highschoolers. Rods/reels worked great! I bought this at the beginning of the trout season just so I didn ’ t have the break the bank. After about a month of using it, I can confidently say that this rod exceeded my expectations. It casts nice and far, and the reel feels solid. The rod itself hasn ’ t given me any issues and is super sensitive. I would just recommend removing the line that comes on it and replacing it with nicer mono or braided. Besides that 10/10!!

I want to preface this by stating I purchased this rod in 2022, and the rod I have has different decals than the one listed, so I am unware if the quality of the rod has changed over this time. I bought this rod for inshore saltwater fishing, and it does an amazing job with jig applications. The rod has a good backbone, allowing for firm hooksets. Bought this rod about 2 months ago and have been pretty happy with it since then. Managed to catch quite a few fish on it including a 30 '' pike and some massive hybrid bass. It says it is a fast tip but it certainly is n't as fast as others I have used. Great for treble hook baits as well as texas rig stuff. The only bad part about the rod is that somehow, one of my guide inserts seems to have fallen out and I did n't keep my receipt!

I received my rod with one guide damaged( bent, with the insert ring ready to pop out) due to poor packaging for shipping. The rod was taped to the inside of a floppy, poorly constructed triangular box that looked like a gorilla had stepped on it. A cardboard rod tube would have been a logical shipping container choice. I managed to repair the damaged guide and noticed that the action of the rod is labeled MHF. I feel the action is a little on the lighter side though. More like a Medium Action. It's a beautiful rod and very lightweight and comfortable in the hand. For the price, you ca n't go wrong.

bought this a month ago for some finesse summer bass fishing, I ran some 10lb braid and was running great even caught my PB on it. But ended up getting a snag in a bush and instead of cutting my losses I tried to brute force it which resulted in the tip breaking off. Technically it breaking was my fault but I can see that the construction isnt too hardy which is expected for a$ 25 combo. Overall though I cant say I was burned given how cheap it was and I was able to do some great fishing with it but if you want a combo thatll last invest in something else, if you dont care much about that and just wan na have something that runs good then this will get that job done

Great rod for 99 bucks, I purchased the 7ft medium action which has great sensitivity with 36 ton graphite, metal locking nut and the trigger is very comfortable to fish with. I personally like the carbon fiber reel butt a lot, which is very nice looking and adds to the lightness of the rod. Nice lightweight rod especially paired up with my JDM Metanium. Can cast lighter lures easily if paired up with the right reel. I was able to cast smaller swimbaits which I usually use my spinning rod for. Loved it so far hoping it holds up well.

TRIS70MF 7' 0 ''( Fast Medium) has created a relationship with Pampano that I did not think possible. I fish the Tampa Bay, Florida region. I have caught Bonnet Head Sharks, 16 '' Pampano to the fork, 15 ''( to the fork) Jack Cervell, 25 '' Snook, and 6 other species. I jig off the bottom of sand bars, jetties, and piers. I can feel it when a Pampano grabs the lure, sucks it in, sits still, and grinds it like it would with a shrimp/sand flea. I can feel this relationship with this pole. The sensitivity, the weight, and when it needs the stiffness of a Medium to work a snook or crazy Jack Cervelle this pole delivers. I run a pole that is under a pound. When the entire group is catching nothing I can bring in 2 to 6 fish and have the entire pier trying to understand. My entire system: St. Croix TRIS70MF, Shimano Miravel Spinning Reel 4000, 30lb green super braid by Yo- Zuri, Yo- Zuri pink 30lb leader, and a 1/2 oz pink vertical jig( pink for pampano) that looks like a shrimp.

I am very happy with the product. I am very unhappy that the very helpful and well- meaning salesman in the fishing department at Dick ’s spools the fishing line on the reel backwards.
