I love the fit and feel. Very lightweight, which I wanted, as a summer weight jacket. The stretch improves the fit and feel over my other bomber. The only things I would change is; Add the original bomber style shoulder pockets and tool sleeves, maybe even on both sides. A velcro shoulder patches with a cover that matches the jacket fabric to hide the velcro if preferred. Stretch cordura or something cut resistant to protect in the shop against sheet metal edges or on the street for self defence. Hand pocket designed more like the original without the flap. Or maybe different bomber offerings.

The exterior pockets have a lot of space and can hold a decent amount of items. The inside zipper pocket is a good size as well. The outside material is softer than expected which is nice. This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.

[ I purchased the prior version of this jacket in Real Tree Hardwoods in 2016 and used it to harvest my first turkey. That jacket lasted 7 hunting seasons( spring and fall) and is still usable but the camo is fading so I bought this jacket as a replacement. I used it the first time for deer this fall. This jacket appears just as durable as my 2016 jacket, but appears to also have water resistance features as an added bonus. With a wool base layer and long sleeve T underneath, the jacket should be ok for a long sit down to 45 degrees. For colder weather, just add a down vest. This is probably a roomy medium. I 'm a true medium( 5'10 '', 160lbs) and the medium in this jacket gives you room to layer, but it's not so big as to let wind come up the waist elastic. I own quite a bit of hunting clothes from some big name competitors, but Carhartt has always been my favorite go- to. My only suggestion for improvement is for Carhartt to expand the line. Make Yukon Extremes in hunting pattern! Expand the types of camo patterns. Build it and they will come.

Also, I 've read a few reviews about how some do not like how the zipper goes up too high, but that really is n't a problem. In fact, I 'm heavy wind or extremely cold weather, I see it as a plus because you can close up more, but if it is uncomfortable just do n't zip all the way way up( common sense).

This coat fits good, comfortable. A lot of people do n't like the longer sleeves, I like that they are a little long. I always have trouble finding long enough sleeves. First of all, very comfortable jacket. I saw other comments about the hood and other than having another hoodie under it while driving, it has n't bothered me all. Second, very warm. It seldom gets sub- zero where I live, usually just single digits, but with a heavy hoodie under and shoveling or snowblowing snow, I was very warm on the coldest days. The rain defender was amazing while snowblowing in the wind, jacket stopped any water. Def. my new favorite.

He does n't get cold like I do, and this jacket works well for him with just a hoodie underneath it. My son usually wears a large or XL with other manufacturers, but I know that Carhartt is always big, so I got him a medium.

I 'm 6' 2 '' and 230 lbs, 38 year old father of 3 with very broad shoulders, a little belly and the LARGE size fits perfectly with enough room to fit a hoodie and PrimaLoft or Nano Puff vest under the jacket for extra warmth. I wear an Extra Large for 90% of clothing items and occasionally a XXL depending on the brand and/or cut. So may reviews give what they feel is helpful info but judge based on a matter of preference, just follow the size guide which is spot on. I also tried this jacket in an XL and was literally sloppy big. Do n't know why Carhartt is getting rid of this jacket, it's everything I 've been looking for other than any sort of water resistance and HATE the jackets with the stretchy fabric around the waist.
