This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

I have been wearing different versions of this jacket since 1999!!! The combination of being windproof with just a little insulation is PERFECT for so many activities! Because the outer material isn ’ t really connected to the inside, the jacket has an unexpected loftiness,& is WAY warmer than you ’ d think it would be…but at the same time doesn ’ t get too hot??? There was one version( windshirt) that even had small perforations in the armpits which was AWESOME. I live in Colorado,& I wear this piece for everything from an outer layer on cold spring and fall days, to a mid layer for low output activities. I even used to use one for snowboarding. This is a simple, very lightweight windbreaker, that packs into its pocket. It's somewhat water resistant, and dries quickly, but not waterproof. It's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel. It weighs almost nothing and when it's in it's pocket turned carry pouch, it's about the size of a 3 x 5 card and about an 1 '' thick. It even fits in a purse, a fanny pack, and many hydration packs.
