Since its the winter here in Chicago, I am doing all my workouts inside, but they would definitely be great to wear outside too. The length is great, just short enough but not too short!. [ Aside from being slightly snug( not enough to not wear), these are great for my casual runs. The shorts are just the right length to not get in the way, yet no rubbing or chaffing. The hidden zippered pockets are great for hiding money or an ID. They are n't the warmest if you are running on a chilly day, but they are n't letting me freeze either. They do later nice too so I can wear thin compression tights underneath without issue. The color is masculine too and matches most of my clothing. I 've really got no complaints comfort wise, so just know to size up a little bit.

[ I have about 25 miles in these shorts and I love them. They ’ re comfortable and light. I ’ m 5 ’ 8 ” and the 5 ” length is great for my body- type and preference. The pockets are useful and out of the way. There ’s one zippered pocked in the back, four elastic pockets that sit towards the back of my hips, and one internal pocket. The elastic pockets are great for quick grabs like gels. I ’ m usually a size 34 waist in my pants and the medium shorts are a great fit. They don ’ t sag or shift much at all when tied down. Overall these shorts feel minimal while still providing plenty of options to carry basics.

[ You know when you have a favorite pair of running shorts that you have worn for years and years and you ca n't quite find the right replacement? I have been running in a pair of Brooks shorts for close to a decade. As a long- distance runner, I need shorts that are going to go the distance! First, my favorite feature of these shorts is the numerous pockets along the comfortable waistband( including a zipper pocket). The smooth design of the elastic waistband is very comfortable even with things in the pockets. Second of all, the built- in liner compression type shorts are a good fit while not being too tight. Finally, I expect the material of these shorts are going to last me another decade of fitness!

These Brooks Journey shorts are my perfect running and cross- training companion, providing a light and airy feel while keeping me comfortable during my daily workouts. Like other Brooks shorts, these dry quickly and have held up great over repeated washes. One of my favorite features is that these shorts have tons of storage, featuring both a zipper pocket in the back center, as well as four smaller mesh compartments around the sides and back. While these are n't big enough to store something like a modern smartphone, they are perfect for energy gels and other prepackaged snacks to keep me fueled once I start marathon training outdoors. These pants are definitely in my rotation and I am thinking about picking up another pair! Great design as always from Brooks!

Maybe the best trail shorts Nike has ever made. The waistband pocket system is excellent, with the rear zip pocket large enough to hold a phone or small flask and multiple other mesh pockets for gels and trail stuff. The outer layer is impossibly lightweight and the perfect length. No bouncing or flopping, just great storage and coverage. They do run a bit big- I have always been XS/S( 27- 28 ” waist) and had to do XXS in these to get a secure fit for the waist and brief liner. Glad I did the exchange though; amazing shorts!

What I Liked Most/ What I ’ d Change/ Performance: What I loved most was how soft and breathable they are. These have quickly become my go- to shorts for everything from casual wear to light workouts. I wouldn ’ t change much, though I do wish they had a slightly more secure pocket( for keys or a card). Performance- wise, they held up well through movement, heat, and washing.

I especially appreciate the deep pockets, which are roomy enough to hold my phone securely. I was initially hesitant because they ’ re described as mid- rise( which usually doesn ’ t suit me), but they fit more like a high- rise on my frame, which I love. For reference, I ’ m 5 ’ 7 ” with an athletic build and weigh 105 pounds. I typically wear an XS, but I received an XXS. They ’ re a little snug at the waist, so I ’ d say they ’ re true to size because the XS would have been perfect. The fit is loose around the thighs, and the 4 ” length is just right, not too short. Overall, I highly recommend these shorts!

[ I have a tough time finding shorts that fit me well. When I do find them, I buy them in bulk, in every color. My last favorites were Columbia( from 4- 5 years ago), which I had to `` retire '' this year... they 've seen a lot of wear, and have held up great! I recently ordered 4 different styles in a few different sizes. This style fit me the best, so I bought 5 pair. I am 5' 7 '', 130 lbs, and 60 yo. I have long, lean legs, and a short waist. I have shorts that fit me well from size 4- 8, just depends on the style. I tried size 6 in the 5 '' inseam, but the waist was a little snug, so I returned for size 8, which fit perfectly. I still have room in the hips, but they fit nicely and give me some shape. And my legs do n't look like sticks hanging out of a barrel!;) This fabric has a nice, silky feel to it. Some of the others I tried were a bit stiff and `` papery '' feeling. I highly recommend these.
