I say best for the price,* because if you have any wide and heavy yak, then this is the best one out there for this price tag. I have had 3 yak's one old town PDL and a big fish 108 pdl and a sit in perception fishing yak, and this cart just get the job done with no problems, fits all 3 different types of haul's, and is a must have as a kayaker. My partner and I recently bought two kayaks from Dick ’s and needed to transport them over 100 miles through several mountain passes on a windy day. On a whim, we bought this kit and we are so glad we did. In the parking lot of the Dick ’s, we were able to install the kit on the crossbars of her Subaru Outback within 30 minutes and did not need a single tool for assembly! The instructions that came with the kit were clear and taught us how to safely secure our kayaks to the car. After tightening the straps, the kayaks didn ’ t budge for the entire trek home. I bought this roof rack to help transport my 13. 5 ft kayak and my daughter's 6ft kayak. Before I had just mine and transported it with cheap styrofoam blocks that worked, but made me very nervous while driving. But once I needed to transport 2, I did n't trust the styrofoam ones. These are probably the best universal type roof racks you will be able to find. I shopped extensively for racks that would be able to stand up to transporting a heavy kayak over thousands of miles. Other brand name racks like Thule or Yakima would have cost 4 to 5 times the cost of these racks. These were the only ones that seemed to be able to perform just as well as the higher priced options. We used these on a 2016 Honda CRV( does not have a rain gutter or lip to catch other types of attachment systems) to transport the kayak from NY to Florida through a major southern blizzard with these racks on the car. The racks and kayak did not budge an inch. The ratchets seemed to work fine. I cinched them up as tightly as possible and then tied a half hitch as insurance. We kept the kayak on the rack with some budget ratchet tie downs from Harbor Freight. The fact that the tie downs for the rack do go through the interior of the car may put some people off but this also make the racks very secure. I also want to add that these did not mar the finish or cause any scratches or dents to the vehicle. I highly recommend these if you are having difficulty trying to find racks that work with your vehicle.

I bought this to attach to my Nissan Juke( which has no roof rack of any type) so that I could transport my 10- foot, 50 pound kayak. It was very easy to setup. It took less than ten minutes. I transported my kayak on a seven- hour journey mainly on the highway going just under 70 mph and the kayak did n't move at all. When I got to my destination, it took less than five minutes to remove the inflatable roof rack. The rack did not seem to have deflated at all during the journey. I did add extra ratcheting straps to attach the front of the kayak to the front bumper and the back of the kayak to the back bumper for extra stability. I 'm very pleased that I was able to find this inexpensive solution for transporting my kayak. So much cheaper than purchasing a roof rack, and in some ways, the little bit of `` give '' in the inflatable rack might be an advantage over a hard metal rack.
