I connected this striker plus 4 through data sharing to my Striker plus 7sv all my waypoints transferee over instantly and as I mark brush at the console they transfer over to my striker plus 7sv real time. Sonar is crystal clear with amazing target separation, I turn QuickDraw on as I leave the ramp and let it run in the back ground. You won ’ t have buyers remorse with any Garmin sonars and this is an amazing deal! All hardware to mount to the transom and trolling motor. It beats any humminbird or Lowrance under 199. 99 any day! Replacing a 25 year old fish finder. the price point of the HELIX 7 is perfect for what i need. having both summer and ice transducers, so i can use it year round. to spend 3- 4 times more just to get a `` big '' screen is simply not worth it. But, yes you should get DI and SI Mega. they will be extremely helpful to find the fish.

In searching for a SI fish finder, I landed on the Helix 7. They really seem to be the best price point for decent screen size and full Side Imaging. Also Humminbird offers a transducer trade- in program if you want a different style of transducer and yours is still new/non- installed which I thought was awesome!

While I 've only had three opportunities to fish with this locator since I 've purchased it, it seems to perform very well. I particularly like the clarity of the screens and the split screen option. The clarity on the flasher screen is so much better than a traditional flasher unit. It does have great separation capabilities. The lure charge function is really handy. Especially after my buddy dropped his lure charging flash light down the hole! I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. I must admit I would like an even wider transducer angle for shallow water applications. I do still have much to learn about this product. To that end, I do wish a detailed operations manual was included. I am looking forward to discovering its full capabilities and applications. So far this product meets my expectations( which are high) for a Humminbird product.

What an enormous difference!! The detail, clarity, custom screen options, ease of use are among many of the things that are an improvement over the Hook 4. I can ’ t say enough good things about this unit.

Briefly tried other fish finders, but they all failed or were disappointing. However Helix 5 is a keeper, it finds and displays ALL fish and even my lure. Very pleased with its chart plotting capabilities, the flexibility of the software, and the quality of the device as well. I wish it included charts for my country, Turkiye, however!
