I see Thule has a rod storage for fly fishing rods but none for the longer rods we have here in Southern California. The cinch keeps the rods in place and tights. This kayak is awesome! It is the most stable kayak I have used and I was able to stand and fish with zero issues. It maneuvers great and very easy to paddle. It has plenty of room for all your gear. It is light enough to load and unload it by yourself. It also has 2 built in wheels that make launching it very easy. I really like that it has 6 rod holders. The only downside is the way the outer rod holders angle, sometimes i would hit the rods while paddling.

I paddled much more than my husband, so the Coast is in pretty good shape — but I noticed a little compromise on one of the folding corners! I might need to repair it before it leaks. [ I have owned the Old Town Bigwater PDL 132 for 4 years now and can tell you, this kayak embodies the name bigwater and other all is an amazing platform! It's fast, agile, stable, adaptable, and very customizable. The drill plates are really nice! They allow you to add accessories that require drilling holes to mount that accessory but you do n't have to worry about drilling into the main kayak itself. But my favorite thing about the bigwater, the PDL drive in combo with that sleek, narrow hull! The Bigwater truly is a beast but can really get moving out on the water. I 've been able to pedal it, bow into the wind and still hit 4mph- 4. 2mph! That's great for a kayak! It's hull just eats waves too. The bow has a narrow point that is designed to split waves, make it easier for the kayak to keep moving through those conditions and I ca n't tell you how nice it is to have that feature being a trout troller up in the Rocky Mountains, dealing with wind waves, chop, and heavy wind. Other all, the Old Town Bigwater PDL 132 is the perfect kayak that gives you all of the features to be an amazing fishing platform but gives you that unique kayaking experience with it's narrow hull! I 'd always recommend the bigwater!

It feels very sturdy and I 've never had any trouble with anything shifting during long drives. Nice quality, this mounted perfectly on Toyota OEM crossbars as the bracket is about 4 '' wide. I suggest putting the straps on the rack 1 kayak at a time and start with loading the side of the vehicle with the rack farthest away( if not centered) as it is easy to get them tangled and bunched over each other. Also, if you have an SUV you will be hopeless putting on 2 kayaks by yourself if you are under 6' tall. I bought my rack second hand( used once) from a shorter person with a big SUV.

We have used the Thule Compass many times and we love it. The only issue is that it does take a while to load and secure boats. Not a huge deal and should get better with practice.

I have had the stacker for a good 15 years now, I love it, I can get 1 to 4 kayaks on my car. Other kayak racks only allow you to put one kayak apparatus, and even if you bought multiple, you could never get more than two kayaks. Wouldn ’ t change a thing

Works Great for fitting multiple boats on a rack. If you are going to put one boat on each side I would recommend buying a set of the 15 ft. load straps. If you are putting this on an Xsporter remember to use the Xadapt 3 adapter kit. There is a link to it in the technical specifcations area on this page. Not sure why Jay from a previous review could n't stumble on that. Great Product, use mine all the time and recommend to all my friends.

When I got kayaks I was trying to avoid racks like the J style Hull a Port. I 've had issues with boats shifting, and am not a fan of the design. The Stacker is a simple design that uses the crossbars to help keep the boat in place. Never had an issue with shifting, even on 8 hour drives with two boats. It's also the cheapest Thule option for more than one boat. Very happy with my decision. Just make sure you put the straps on BEFORE you put the boat on.

Was easy to install. Be sure to read the instructions. There are adjustment screws you need to use for a snug fit. Loaded easily before my paddle. After a few hours of paddling, I did not have the strength to get the kayak back on. I am a big, strong guy. My kayak is only 68 pounds. Thought I could do it. Fortunately, someone came along and pushed it right up for me. I an going to try it again with the bow rope looped up around the carrier bar. Otherwise, I will only be taking it where I know I can get some help loading.

I love this rack! Easy to load and unload your kayak from and easy to strap it down. It's very solid and my kayak does n't move when traveling at 65 mph. No bow or stern tie straps are even necessary when going short distances at 55- 60 mph. My kayak lies flat and does n't allow the wind to push my vehicle while traveling. Compared to other kayak carriers it is also very affordable. I would definitely recommend this rack.

It installed nicely on my 2010 Chevy Equinox and with the help of the Thule slide, I am able to lift and load without any help. It was a nice snug transport of 10 miles driving 55mph. I am a 44 year old, 5' 3 '' female. In purchasing this item, I researched the ability to load by myself, cost of the product and being able to attach the saddle to a factory installed roof rack. The Malone Saddleup Pro is a lot better as far as quality goes. It is VERY easy to assemble and only takes a few minutes. It is also very ridgid and strong. This kayak saddle has made my life easier.
