Came to this shoe after 500 miles on a pair of NB fresh foam x more V4, a heavier more cushioned shoe. After initial run, I found these to be comfortable, supportive and very light/fast. I was n't thrilled with any of the women's models/colors in wide width, so I decided to purchase the Men's Escalante 4( mens regular is equivalent to womens wide width) instead. I wear a 10- 10. 5 wide in womens and went with the mens size 9 in black/white- perfect fit. Of course I wish the color was a bit more feminine, but at least there was a neutral option! I 'm new to the wide toe box, zero drop but I 'm absolutely in love with this shoe& hope I never have to go back to traditional tennis shoes. Zero- drop requires some adjustment time- my calves have been BURNING on walks, so I 've had to slow it down. FYI I tried Flux footwear first, but they are ridiculously narrow, so I had to return( also beware their return policy). I wear my new altras for walking and strength training primarily, and I plan to wear them when I visit London for 10 days in October. So happy with my purchase overall. One critique is I 'd like to see more wide- width options for women.

I used to wear the New Balance 9060, which I liked, but after switching to the Hoka Bondi 9, I can confidently say these are even better. I love the feel and fit of the Ariel GTS 24. My first pair was a pretty teal blue and I liked that it had color but was n't too wild because I like to wear them for everyday use as well as exercise walking and some running. They do n't look clunky and do n't make my feet look big. I decided to get a real neutral shade next so I got a greyish beige style. Most recently I got the Mercury/ebony/sweet lavender and this is my favorite color so far. Very neutral overall but the lavender part adds a lot of style. They are a very supportive, stable shoe which is important to me as I am in my 70s and need that. The only negative is that this most recent shoe did not have the same type of shoelaces as the first two pairs. Those laces stay tied even when you do n't double- knot them. The laces on the newest pair are flatter instead of round and I always worry they will come untied if I do n't double knot.

Had to go half size up for a bit more length for toes but not a big issue, I have narrow feet and width is perfect. Haven ’ t ever felt a more comfortable, bouncy, carbon plated shoe. I 'm a nurse with rheumatoid arthritis and degenerative discs in my lower back that deals with chronic lower leg and back pain. These shoes have changed the game for me! In addition to compression socks, I 'm able to accomplish more and work longer. It was recommended that I try the Hokas gaviota but it over corrected my arch and caused additional pain. Comfort is outstanding. Stability is great. Padding is just right. I appreciate the one piece rubber tread. I am fairly tough on shoes. A marathon a week give or take. One piece rubber tread always wears better than the current trend of contact patches. I burn through the edges and into the padding in just a few weeks with my running and walking style. The one piece allows the force of the step to transfer evenly without abrading and damaging the cushioning.
