Been using these for seems like ever. From 6 lb small mouth in Lake Erie to trout and walleye in Colorado its pretty much what I only fish with if not fly fishing. Just wish Rebel had n't got rid of the 2 inch silver color years back. Silver, bright green and light brown/white were my go too's. Now I can only fish silver in smaller which does n't troll as well.

Winter fishing is tough around here with the frequent rain and fast moving high water on the Hiwassee River. I had some free time and wanted to try for some small mouth. The wee- craw was already tied on, so I tried it out. Almost immediately were the trout hitting it. I was impressed to have caught anything with the water level and speed. June 28, 2020! I used a strawberry colored craw! Total for the day was 3 Pike 5 lbs or over! One 9lb Pike 3 smallmouth bass and several eating size Walleyes! I regularly fish open water and smaller creeks. The Rebel Crickhopper Lure is my legendary favorite. I primarily fish for Bluegill and other panfish. Whenever the time of day is right and the fish are around, the hits are almost 100%. I use the crickhopper with 6# fluorocarbon line and a small Zebco( 33, 22, etc.). No need on spending more with this lure.

I bought two Crickhoppers to try out with my ultralight tackle and was surprised at how many panfish I caught. Just about anything will go after them too. I 've caught plenty of largemouth on them. The natural colors work best for me on sunny days, pick one up and you wo n't regret it!

This has been my go- to surface lure for more than a decade. It has great popping action spitting water in front when tugged, yet can be worked slowly and gently with a side to side swing. It is the most affordable type on the market and comes in several colors that work well for catching large mouth bass in lakes having bluegills or shad as forage. I mostly use the silver/black and 'ol bass colors. On the Original, I 've caught bass up to nearly seven pounds. The only modifications I make is to replace the hooks with VMC sure set in- line trebles, using the version having dressed trebles for the tail hook. Also, it can be made virtually weedless for working over heavy weed cover by removing the middle treble and replacing the tail hook with a split shank double hook like the ones used in soft plastic frogs.

I suggest for Bass and crappie you use the smaller two sizes but if you 're looking for bigger bass or striped bass then you should go ahead to the larger sizes. I think any fisherman would be wise to have at least one of each size in the black and the blue in their tackle box at all times. I only wish I could afford to buy more than I have and I would give them to kids to help them get started. To me this is the Best bang for your buck lure on the market.

The 2 1/2 inch Rebel Jointed Minnow is above Excellent in the Southern Australian rivers, streams& lakes for both Brown Trout& Rainbows. It's swimming action is so much more than enticing, extremely life- like. Other styles and brands just ca n't capture the same seductive swimming action which the fish love. When the paint wore off I repainted the lures with a chartreuse back, dark green stripes& a lumo white underbelly which made it even more effective on cloudy overcast days. Great work Rebel.

Best lure I have ever used! I had one for over 15 years and could not find them again until I found them online today! I have caught 100's of fish on that one lure alone( 3. 5 inch jointed minnow). It had chipped paint and scratches from so much use over the years but still performed flawlessly. I had lost it this past weekend on a monster bass and I was devastated. Now I am buying several of them in several different sizes. No need to bring a tackle box if u have this lure. Works great working the banks from a boat or from shore casting out. This bait has a tried& true history in Manitoba Parkland trout lakes. Long lined and taken down to between 5- 8 feet we 'll catch most species of trout that we fish for. The only wish I have for this awesome lure is that they 'd bring back the `` baby bass '' pattern which in some of our lakes resembles the chubs our trout love to eat. Nonetheless, this is a great lure! My business' success is connected to this great bait.

I prefer the magnum for several reasons: its size, length, and big fish results. The added weight allows me to make longer casts over and into weeds, and does attract the bigger fish. I fish a large marshy lake with plenty of bass. Over the years I have tried just about every top- water popper there is. I keep coming back to the reliable magnum Pop- R. The bodies are virtually indestructible; I have had to replace the treble hooks from time- to- time. Try one out( black and silver for a starter) if you like catching bass.

Works great on stocked trout when slow- trolled 0. 5-. 12 MPH. Only downside is that trout often easily throw it at the net. Changing out back hook to a# 10 does help somewhat. Firetiger and Red work the best in spring conditions.

I Used the Tracdown for trout fishing, had the rainbow, and brown, I used the 5/8 size. The bigger size it seemed the trout did not want to hit it. With the 5/8 size the smallest fish we had for the day was around 16 in, We had a few in the 21 range, and even had one over 21. We used it somewhat fast moving water but it was pretty deep. we found out that if we was casting across the river current, that the lure was not giving the right action, So we would cast down river and bring it back to us, we had a fish on every few cast. One thing we found with the smaller one that we did not like was the fishing line would get around the front hook on some of the cast and we would just have to bring it back in and pull the line off. Because the lure would just spin in a circle. Would like to find a way to fix this, But i will still be buying the lure. Also the smaller lure is kinda hard to cast because it does not have much weight to get it out far. But we dropped line size and went to a ultra light rod and real and it fixed that problem. The two rivers we used this on was the White river in Arkansas and the roaring rivers in Missouri. Many people around us was asking what we was using because of the amount of fish that we was catching. We showed them, and told them were to buy them at. all in all, This was a awesome lure for trout and i cant want to go out again and see what we can get. I would recommend this for everyone to buy and try.

First time ever using this lure caught around 10 bass. It was crazy. I had the bass color and they just couldnt resist. Every 5 casts i had a fish. It goes pretty shallow and dodge underwater obstacles like sticks or tires. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great shallow lure!

I have had great luck with this lure. Switched from my old faithful and on the 2nd cast the fish started hitting. In about 45 mins I had landed 9 fish until we ran out of daylight. Last night my wife and I took our 11yr old son fishing... again I set him up with my old faithful... no action. Switched him to the rebel teeny and first cast he landed a Guadalupe Bass. The lure speaks for itself!

I got one of these in brown crawdad as part of the Little Critters 4pack and was amazed at how many bass it caught. Anytime they are feeding on crayfish in shallow water( muddy or rocky bottoms) this is a good choice. It catches lots of bluegill too.

I used every option in this kit. First thing in the morning I used the pop R, and fish would hit it as soon as it hit the water. Once the sun was out, we switched to the crickhopper and wee crawfish. Kept catching them all day. At one point we got to a bigger section of river, tied on the little crank bait, and even started catching small bass! Perfect for every occasion!

i really enjoyed the options in the kit. You have crankbaits as well as a topwater popper. a lot of the time you do n't have to even crank the crickhopper. Wiggle it a bit and they will hit it on top. Crawfish and grasshoppers always great snacks for panfish and bass.

I started using most of these back in the 90s when I started fishing. So when I recently saw the 4- pack I picked one up to replace old and lost lures, and recommended it to my brother, who finally got into fishing. These lures are still some of my standbys, especially for smaller waters, even though I have hundreds more, and my brother relies heavily on them. I have been using the grasshopper since the beginning. Throw it under overhanging trees and near tall grass or cattails to imitate a bug that landed in the water. `` Twitch and pause '' to get fish's attn, rather than cranking it straight in, especially if the surface is calm. Works great for bluegills and bass. I bought the crayfish to fish in streams for trout and smallmouth bass. Works well in clear water and over rocky bottoms. The Wee- R( the little fish), in this color can imitate a fish or a crayfish. I was surprised at how effective it was. I caught a lot of bass in shallow rocky or muddy areas. Personally, I 've had less success with the popper, but I know people who swear by these things. Try it around dawn and dusk, or on overcast days( low light gives it a tempting silhouette), and experiment with a sharp twitch followed by a long pause, a series of quick twitches, then a pause, and other cadences until you find on that works.

These poppers work great. I noticed that the bass in the pond I was fishing were chasing sunnies and scarfing them up so I grabbed one of these poppers that had bright gold on it with some white and blue. Seemed to mimic a sunny pretty well. My first cast I let it sit there for about 20 seconds, then gave it a few twitches and a bass nailed it. I let him take it then set the hook. I landed a 3 pounder. I could n't be happier. A good bargain too at$ 9. 99 for 3 poppers and I had coupons and discounts so they were even cheaper. It is probably why this was the last one in the store. Going to try it again soon!

We cast, let it sit, pop it, let it sit, repeat and have had plenty of interest from Large Mouth, Pickerel, Yellow Perch and others.
