Reel itself was 119. 99, Combo was 139. 99! So I paid an extra 20 bucks and just purchased the combo! 3000 reel with 7ft medium rod! Don ’ t know how the rod will hold up but the reel is the absolute best I ’ ve ever owned!!! Super light, quiet drag, super smooth, great handle!!! Couldn ’ t find anything wrong with this reel!! I highly recommend it!! Spooled with 15 pound power and it will cast a mile! Lol......

Bought this combo for this year's striper season and could n't be happier. Used 30lb braid, and cast lures all morning and was surprised how smooth the reel was compared to my Penn's. I also caught a 31 '' 10lb striper and the fight was epic but never had any concern bringing it in. Highly recommend this rod, actually bought another for a friend.

5 Aa ff
Only used two- three times so far. Landed a 1lb bluegill on 8lb line and the rod/reel easily dragged it in. Casts 1/2 oz rooster tails pretty far out. Drag is not stated but I 'd say around 8- 12 lbs maximum. We 'll see how long it lasts. Decent for$ 20

i bought this rod 2 months ago and absolutely happy with it for$ 20. 00 did n't expect much but man this rod has been great. i live on the central coast of California and I 've use this rod in the surf for rock fishing and it hold up really well. these rod can handle good size fish. i have caught up to 3lb surf perch on this rod, 18 inch green- lings and 7lb Cabezon, freed line from thick weeds and horse fish out of rocks with this rod. I 'm a budget oriented angler and on this rod its the best use of$ 20. 00 i ever spent hands down..

Works and performs like one worth 10 times as much

5 Pdjayzing
I have a few surf rods, all cost way more then this one and funny thing is this one is my absolute favorite. I tell everyone how shocked I was with how good this one feels and performs and that it truly is the best 20$ I ever spent in my life. I reeled in a 10lb striper out of heavy surf just the other day with 30mph headwinds casting a 2oz bucktail. I have the 11 ’ one. If you surfcast, try this rod. You ’ ll probably sell all your others. Feels so good in the hands and it ’s so easy on my back and the casting goes so far and the lure action is so easy to handle. Buy this rod now.

5 rcrowe73
In the past I had a few bad experiences with Daiwa fishing gear and as a result was skeptical of their products for years. Then a couple months ago I bought a couple Daiwa reels that impressed me for carp fishing and they were so sturdy and solid and casted so well that I use them for saltwater as well. While the reels were up to the challenge for surf fishing my Carp rods were not so I picked up 2 of these 11 Daiwa surf rods and am so glad I did. They feel so good and solid and cast beautifully. I have so much control over where my bait lands with these rods and have just enough sensitivity to see and feel even the small bites. I am blown away by the quality of these rods and would recommend them to anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions For Saltwater Daiwa Reel

When selecting a saltwater fishing reel, consider features such as corrosion resistance, drag system quality, and gear ratio. A reel with a sealed design can help prevent saltwater intrusion, enhancing durability. Additionally, look for materials like aluminum or graphite, which can withstand harsh marine environments.

Choosing the right size saltwater reel depends on the type of fish you plan to catch and the fishing technique you will use. Larger reels are typically better for bigger species and deep-sea fishing, while smaller reels can be suitable for inshore fishing. Always consider the line capacity and drag strength to ensure it matches your fishing style.

Spinning reels are generally easier to use and are ideal for lighter lines and lures, making them great for beginners. Conventional reels, on the other hand, are better suited for heavier lines and larger fish, offering more power and control. Your choice should depend on your experience level and the specific fishing conditions.

While saltwater reels can technically be used in freshwater, they are designed to withstand harsher conditions and may be overbuilt for typical freshwater fishing. Using a saltwater reel in freshwater can lead to unnecessary wear and tear. It's usually best to use reels specifically designed for freshwater to optimize performance and longevity.

Regular maintenance for saltwater reels is essential to ensure their longevity and performance. After each use, it's important to rinse the reel with fresh water to remove salt and debris. Periodic lubrication of moving parts and checking for any signs of corrosion will also help maintain functionality and prevent damage.
