Used to use Tiny/Baby Torpedos and thought I had the killer lures for bass on my favorite water. Have n't had the success I wanted lately as the propellers did n't always spin. Last summer I watched a video on Youtube of a guy killing smallies with a `` Whopper Plopper '' so I decided to give one a try. I bought the 90 perch and 90 pac- man. First afternoon out with these lures I caught 10 bass. That was my best day ever on this water. Two were 3 lbs plus; all were respectable sizes.( See picture) Just purchased three more: Bluegill, Frog, and 28 Bluegill. Gon na buy the T1000 and Chub( Yoda) next. May go up a size to see if they produce even bigger fish. Ca n't wait till the spawn to kill 'em again!!!!

Bought the lure to augment an offshore trolling spread consisting of surface and near- surface lines. Fished the plug on 20- pound trolling outfit, with 12- foot 150- pound mono leader, run about 100 feet down the middle. The plug pulls hard when trolled at 7 to 8 knots, but digs down and swims well, even at that speed-- although anglers should be warned that at that speed, a 20 is about as light as you can go, as the lure will take line off the reel if anything less than 7 pounds of drag is used. Primary target for the lure was dolphin( mahi- mahi), which hit it well when not showing on the surface; the plug drew a strike from my largest mahi of the 2018 season.

This lure works really well for schooling stripers. My son picked up my rod with the bone color one knocker tied on and got hooked on top water fishing. He caught as many fish as I did pitching live bluback herring to the schooling fish. The Mirrolure Mirrodine twitchbait is my go- to lure when I am fishing the flats for big Speckled Sea Trout. It has been my most successful trout lure whether fishing in clear or murky water. The twitching action, the colors and luminescent shine really make a great presentation, and I 've watched how the fish just ca n't resist it. I 've also caught Jack Cravalle, Bluefish and even Pompano with this lure, so I can definitely say this lure catches fish. I would n't recommend you use it specifically to catch Jacks or Blues with it, because the construction of the lure is not made to handle the vicious, crushing bite those fish can put on a lure, but they are perfect for Sea Trout.

I 've been using jitterbugs and hulapoppers all my life. They work so well that I wear them out. A black jitterbug after dusk is a guaranteed bass catcher. One thing I 've learned: remove the forward barbs. It unscrews. Bass hit the tail of the lure or swallow it whole. All the forward barb does is cause bleeding( mine). Save the forward barb incase the rear one breaks.

I 've caught muskie, pike, walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass on it. The walleye and smallmouth seem to like it the best. I have n't narrowed it down to one color either, mostly just the retrieve method. They are worth trying.

At first when i got this it was just a tackle filler but then one day the bass and other predetorial fish were just smashing bait fish in the weeds off a drop off so i decided to swim it slow off the shallow and then heavilly crank it off tye drop off and then boom a three pound small mouth just smashes the lure.

Definitely my go to lure. If you just wan na catch a fish tie one of these on. Its small but VERY loud for a tiny lipless crankbait. Can cast really good even with a bait caster and is fairly aerodynamic, lands straight and belly down `` 99% '' of the time. I use this for both salt and fresh water. Ive caught panfish of many sizes along with bass, chain pickerel, crappie, white+ yellow perch, red drum, baby striper barely longer than the bait to 20+ inchers. Its just a fish catcher! Colors I mainly use for this are helsinki shad and blue chrome( pure personal opinion but Im sure all the colors work). Im trying the pink tiger next! Random: This was one of the first rapala lures Ive ever bought back in the day( Im only 18, lol) and it quickly became a lure I always had faith in. Whenever I was feelin one of those `` not so serious '' kind of fishing days Id always have at least one of these in my mini tackle crate.
