This is a great jacket. I first got one for my 10yr old and my 8yr old also loved it so I ended up purchasing a 2nd. I wore this the other day in 25+ mph wind gusts. I wore it over my flannel shirt and it was comfortable enough to pull over my existing clothing choice. The jacket was very easy to pull over existing clothes. As a bonus, it ’s also easy to take off and it doesn ’ t rip off your existing clothing when you pull it over your head. The jacket is a bit wider, but that ’s so it can fit over your existing clothes. The bottom has string you can tie up to cinch the jacket for a tighter and more wind- resistant fit so it won ’ t flop around in the wind gusts. The hood also has a string for the same purpose. The jacket held up pretty good in the wind. I ’ d imagine if it was much colder it wouldn ’ t be that great. But it was in the 50s with a lot of wind. It appears to be a good choice for a rain situation, but was unable to test that out. I would definitely recommend this jacket for hiking, camping, or any even on the golf course.

I get hot very easily. Harder for me to properly ventilate while outdoors in the colder seasons. This hoodie( while thinner than my fleece) kept me comfortable without getting hot and when going indoors did n't overheat me. I have yet to find a hoodie that compares. It's durable( my cat clawed it and there's no holes or snags) and there's no pilling. It's soft, sturdy and longer than most which I absolutely love. This is my new favorite patagonia piece

I bought this for winters in chicago and the jacket works perfectly-- even on really cold days! It is very lightweight but also incredibly warm. Sizing is just right as advertised on the website. I may buy in another color next year.
