I bought this in preparation for a trip where I was expecting temps in the low 40s, wind, and rain, but needed a few easily accessible pockets, too. This coat worked perfectly for me, keeping me dry, warm, and relatively protected from the wind( with the hood), too. The lack of an inner pocket was a bit of a miss, but the two outer breast pockets worked well for my phone and( when traveling, and worried about pickpockets) wallet.

I bought this jacket about a week ago and have really put it to the test. It has been below freezing every day since getting it and this week it dropped to- 20F/- 29C. With only a long sleeve shirt on( and some snow pants) I can comfortably walk around even in the- 20F/- 29C with the jacket zipped all the way up and hood on. Speaking of the hood, it is amazingly puffy and warm. I live in the northern Midwest( in the US) so there is a lot of wind and this jacket does an amazing job of stopping the wind, with gusts up to 60mph I have n't felt the wind cut through once. I love how many pockets there are. The outside pockets are very warm and puffy. Even just wearing knit gloves in- 20F/- 29C I was able to put my hands in the pockets and they would warm back after about 5min. The pockets are VERY puffy though which does cut down a little on how much stuff you can hold in them( especially without them bulging out too much). I typically have my keys, chapstick, and light knit gloves in one pocket and my phone in the other and my hands still fit just fine, but I personally think the pockets could 've been a tiny bit deeper to make up for the space lost to the puff. This jacket is not particularly breathable, so if you are doing any moderate exercise, like uphill hiking or snow shoveling, you will get hot in it. For me at least, this jacket is a little too warm to wear while snow shoveling if it is above 20F without unzipping all the way, but great for just walking around the city or light trail walks with the dogs. Overall, if you end up in weather that is consistently below freezing this jacket is definitely a great buy and I would highly recommend. I bought a Medium and can comfortably fit a knit sweater or hoodie underneath. I could 've fit into a Small but I wanted the extra space to layer and the small was snug. I am 5'10 ''( 179cm), 158lbs My measurements are: Chest 36. 5in, Waist 29. 5in, Hips 40. 5in The jacket length hits me at about crotch height/low butt and the sleeves are long enough to cover my hands when I ball my fists.

Interesting to see the various issues around clumped filling. I 've used this jacket around the globe in various environments so it's had plenty of washes. I 've never experienced the clumping issues. I wash it separately shake it out and hang to dry. When dry I give it another shake and off we go. No clumping, no gaps, no issues.

I ended up going with my normal size of XS after trying the XS and S. I 'm 5' 1 '' and 109 lbs for reference. The size small fit more oversized but the arm sleeve were slightly too long. If you 're between sizes, I would size up. My main concern was how cropped it might be and both jackets ended up hitting my waist at about the same spot so I went with the smaller size for the better arm and shoulder fit.

This puffy is best used for around 0 C to 5 C in dry weather, in sub zero temps it may not be warm enough. The fabric is soft and comfy to touch with a nice fleece lining on chin and neck area to keep that area warm and also helps if you have a beard. I 'm about 170 cm, 66 kg and a small fit too tight in the chest and armpits, medium fits well relaxed with room to layer, the sleeves are just a bit long. The hood and collar have nice coverage to keep head and neck warm. Personally, I do n't mind the yellow shoelace, it does n't get in the way much. A great feature is the double zipper which allows you to vent heat without taking the jacket off.

I live in the Western mountains of Maine beside the White Mountain National Forest. We get spooky weather here. It was a brittle- 10° when I got up at 0530. I threw my Expedition Pack Down Hoodie on over just a merino wool base layer. Something I wear 24/7 in the winter here. I was quite comfortable outside. Any jacket like this really shines with proper layer material. It's no secret but, just go with wool. Period. A wool base layer( I go with the thickest I can find) is the key. I 've owned a lot of jackets over the years. Helly Hansen, Eddie Bauer, Spyder, Khul, Mammut, etc. This is by far the warmest jacket I 've ever owned. Even at 30- 35 degrees( F) I sometimes find myself unzipping it as it is too much insulation. I 've worn it out to about 5 degrees with only a light sweater under it and was not even slightly cold. There are more technical jackets out there if you 're looking for backcountry skiing stuff but if you 're just looking for something to keep you warm around town, winter hiking, or sledding with your kids, you ca n't beat this. Also looks great and super comfortable.

The medium fits my 5'11 '' frame perfectly. Warmth is n't an issue. I 've worn the jacket with only a t shirt beneath, in windy, freezing temps, with no issue at all. Lots of handy pockets and a hood that works best with a hat worn beneath. Regarding rain. I 'm not going to wear the jacket for prolonged rain. This jacket is super high quality and is warm, waterproof and windproof. I ’ m 5 ’ 11 ”, 190lbs, athletic build. The Men ’s size medium fits perfect, with room for layers without being too small or too big. It is long below the waist so there is a double zipper to allow you to manuever into your car or a chair without pulling the jacket up to your waist. I removed the faux fur from my hood, it comes off easily with buttons. The fur just wasn ’ t my style. A few people complained about the double zipper, which is plastic( not metal), and is a YKK branded zipper. I ’ ve had no issues with the double zipper. Someone complained about the arm length. There are velcro cuffs so you can control how low you want the cuffs to go. No issues for me there. Bonus: there are two zippered hidden pockets, one on the inside of the main vertical zipper and one on the outside of the zipper. This outside pocket allows you to access items without unzipping the coat. Another bonus: there are two large pockets on the inside of the coat large enough to store ski googles. I happily store my winter scarf in there for when the temperature drops down and the wind picks up. Chest- level hand warmer pockets are comfortable and fantastic for walking or standing in the cold. I wore this coat for a trip in Seattle during the cold and rainy October season and it kept the wind and rain at bay, no wind or water got through. I ’ ve wearing this coat here in Orlando, FL for the cold winter months and have stayed quite warm and cozy! Keep in mind, this is the “ Nuuk Lite Insulated ” version so it ’s perfect for Seattle or Orlando. Fjallraven makes a warmer version called “ Nuuk Insulated ” which is probably more suited to arctic places like snowy parts of Canada or New England. I highly recommend!

Well worth the money purchasing but luckily I got mine on sale just before the temperatures dropped and bad weather in eastern Canada. Most times I do not layer but on super cold days I do have a layer beneath and so warm. Extremely breathable. I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.

This jacket is very well made and everything fits to be expected except at the waist. It's very small compared to my other OR jackets which surprises me. [ This jacket caught my eye because of its' bright colors and classic, yet uniquely new design. I love the bugaboo embroidery on the back as well. But the biggest selling point for me with this jacket is its' versatility. I am easily kept warm in New York winter with the full coat, but on days when it's milder, I love that I can easily just take off the blue outer shell and only use the inner piece-- which is also a great stand alone jacket. It fits true to size and looks like how it does on the website. I 'm 5' 3 '' and 135 lbs and bought a Medium and it fits great. Not oversized or too tight anywhere. But it is form fitting. So if you like a baggier look and feel, I 'd go up a size. The quality of material and the zippers is excellent, and it's really easy to put the jacket back together if you choose to separate the layers. The only things that would make this jacket better for me is if there was a hood for the rain/snow, although the high neck helps a lot. Aside from that I wish the zippers did n't zip from the bottom up in case something falls out; but to be fair, nothing has fallen out before.

I bought a couple of yrs ago and really impressed in all weathers it is my go to jacket as it keeps me warm in all conditions- if its wet I wear a waterproof light goretex jacket on top- my favourite features are the external chest zip pocket for my phone and the internal stash pockets- I need to get another as sadly with age I need a larger one- could n't recommend more highly( and it feels so light)

One of my favorite down jackets in my collection. It has great fill and added material in the arms and shoulders for water resistance and toughness. used this at work during- 30°f temps with layers and kept me plenty warm. the thicker material on the shoulders protected the jacked from a heavy weighted survey vest and the jacket has held up very well for extended periods outside in the woods, may be a bit warm for vigorous activity but perfect for normal use in cold temps.

But this coat is so light I found it also worked for sun protection. It packs into its own pocket and is very light weight. I bought this at the employee store. The shell feels like it has more texture and feels durable. Those things were obvious. The size is nice and roomy without being too bulky, It fits just right. I ca n't speak of cold winters just yet, but layering this with something under would be enough for me. The color is true to the picture. It has some good pocket verity.( small on the front, regular pockets on the side, and pockets on the inside. This is good jacket overall. Only way they could improve on this jacket is if they went with 700 fill.

Got this jacket today, looks pretty good! Quality is great! I love those side pockets! I 'm going to use it as everyday mild winter down jacket. The only thing: I see it's mentioned that 6' 1 is size M, but I would consider to choose L. M will fit, but imagine if you will want to put on a sweater under the jacket? It can be really tight.

Keeps me warm in the 30s easily with just a normal shirt and a sweater. With real layers I have been able to walk approx 30 minutes round trip in the low 20s and strong winds. It ’s very warm and also gives you that psychological warmth boost of a fat, cozy puffer. The length is just right if you need a big outermost layer but don ’ t want a full parka length. I am normally between S and M for most things and a S easily fits me even with a chunky sweater. The two internal mesh pockets are clutch.

Love this Parka. I wore in 15degF with a long sleeve and flannel underneath and I was warm. It ’s roomy enough to layer up but isn ’ t excessively long like every other parka I ’ ve tried on. Love the Ghost Whisperer 2. It ’s a thin light weight jacket where I can use on evenings and mornings where there slight crisp in air. I also wear even in warmer temps just because it ’s cozy when wearing just a t- shirt. Definitely, a delicate material to be aware of outdoor surroundings. Only reason why I took off a start is because of the sizing has me in between a MD and L. I am 6 ’ 2 ” 185# and waist 32 ”. Medium is ideal fit, yet shoulders are slightly tight when I cross my arms. This size is better than when wearing Large, tho. Large is too long in sleeves and too blousy. This is my third Whisperer not because they fall apart, but because I like having multiple colors due to wanting to wear it so much. Must have jacket!

I bought my Mesa Purple jacket in an outlet store, and I absolutely love it. I love how this jacket combo is all I really need for winter in New England and how it can be used for the majority of the year. My complaint is that your hair will snag on the buttons around the wrists, and the velcro on the inner jacket and any face makeup will rub off around the zipper area of the jacket.
